08:14In one-day international, Varnapura featured in 12 matches for Sri Lanka between 1975 and

08:20He scored 180 runs at an average of 15, with a best score of 77, which he made against
08:27Pakistan in Karachi in 1982, one of his most memorable performances.

08:35As a bowler in ODIs, he claimed eight wickets, with the best bowling figure of 3 for 42.

08:44Varnapura had a more extended career in first-class cricket, where he played 57 matches amassing

08:55He scored two centuries and ten half centuries, with a higher score of 154.
