00:00Hello in Venezuela, regional and legislative elections keep unfolding.
00:04So let's contact our correspondent in the Gallanes-Equivo territory, Bruno Falsi, with
00:08all the latest updates on this process in that territory.
00:12Hi Bruno, what can you share with us at this hour?
00:17Hello to all the viewers of Telesur, my name is Bruno Falsi, correspondent here in Venezuela.
00:28I find myself here in Guyana-Equivo, where an historical event is happening.
00:34The first for government representative for this state created recently.
00:42In 2023, the people voted in a referendum with 95% of approval to create this state.
00:53And now, today, this event is happening, where they're going to elect their first representative
00:59of the government.
01:00Here is one of the three centers of the city of Guyana-Equivo.
01:07There are 13 centers of voting centers.
01:11And there are 20,000 people who are going to vote here.
01:15But in all the country, it's happening the same.
01:1824 governors are going to be elected in all Venezuela.
01:23And here is where all the world is looking, because of this very important international
01:32discussion between the United States, the government of Guyana, and Venezuela,
01:38who reclaimed this territory since the 19th century.
01:43To remember that Simon Believer and his troops fought here to liberate Guyana-Equivo from the
01:51Spanish Empire.
01:52After this came the British Empire.
01:55Why the United States won this region?
01:57It's because it's a very rich region, with gold, minerals, and, most importantly, petroleum.
02:07And that's why everyone is looking to this place.
02:10Venezuela is trying to recover this region for the people, for the government, and for their
02:19to reunite again the eight stars of their flag.
02:24Everything is passing completely normally.
02:27People are coming, but now you can see it's raining a little, and there's not a lot of movement.
02:37Come back in the next hours in life to know more about the democracy of Venezuela
02:48is happening in life, as you can see.
02:50We go back now to the studio in La Habana.
02:55Thank you, Bruno, for all the information.
02:57We will keep in contact with you for sure throughout the day to know more details on these historic elections.
03:04As you mentioned, over 20,000 people are due to go to the polls in this territory you are at,
03:09at the Guyana-Esequiva.
03:11That was our correspondent, Bruno Falchi, live from the Guyana-Esequiva in Venezuela,
03:15as regional and legislative elections unfold in the country.
03:19This is all for the moment, but stay tuned with TeleSuli English for all the information on this
