01:19The recent escalation in fighting and air attacks came as both sides completed the biggest prisoner exchange since the start of the war.
01:28There have been emotional scenes in Ukraine and Russia as the two countries completed the exchange of a thousand prisoners each.
01:39The three-day swap, the largest since the war began three years ago, started on Friday with the last 303 prisoners handed over on Sunday.
01:46It was agreed on in Istanbul earlier this month, during the first face-to-face talks between the two sides since the war began.
01:54The exchange, which included civilians, has been the only concrete steps towards peace to emerge from the meeting.
01:59Just hours before the last handover, Russia hit Ukraine with a massive drone and missile assault.
02:06Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Friday said Moscow would present Ukraine with a draft peace agreement once the exchange was completed.
02:13Ukraine's President Vladimir Zelensky, posting on X on Sunday, reiterated the urgent need for a ceasefire and promised to bring every Ukrainian home.

02:53They claim they were targeting Hamas infrastructure.

03:08Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed to continue the offensive until Hamas disarms and releases all of the remaining hostages.
03:16Hamas said it will only do so in exchange for more Palestinian prisoners, a lasting ceasefire and an Israeli withdrawal from the territory.
03:27Meanwhile in Tel Aviv, protesters gathered on the streets in the weekly demonstration, demanding a lasting ceasefire and the immediate release of all the hostages.
03:37Pope Leo XIV on Sunday asked for prayers for China's Catholics to be in communion with the Holy See in what were his first public remarks about one of his thorniest foreign policy issues facing his new pontificate.

04:07Pope Benedict XIV had initiated the feast day as part of his efforts to unify China's estimated 12 million Catholics.
04:35Since then, the Vatican has been working for years to try to improve relations with China that were officially severed over seven decades ago.
