KTR slams Telangana CM Revanth Reddy, demands Congress action over bribery allegations

Hyderabad May 23, 2025 (ANI): BRS Working President KT Rama Rao accused Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of being a "habitual offender," citing past incidents including an alleged ₹50 lakh bribery attempt to buy MLAs. Referring to the Enforcement Directorate’s chargesheet in the National Herald case, KTR claimed Reddy bribed Congress office bearers and solicited funds from business houses. He called on Rahul Gandhi and the Congress Party to take responsibility and clarify whether action will be taken against the Chief Minister.BRS Working President KT Rama Rao says, "In Telangana, we've known Revanth Reddy as a bagman. A bagman because he was infamously caught with Rs 50 lakh in a bag, trying to bribe MLAs, trying to purchase MLAs, and destabilise the government. He continues to be a habitual offender. As per the chargesheet filed by the Enforcement Directorate in the National Herald case, Revanth Reddy, who is now the Chief Minister of Telangana and was then the PCC President, had openly bribed a lot of his Congress office bearers and also sought money from business houses. That is what the ED is accusing him of. What I would like to ask Rahul Gandhi is, will you at least take responsibility now?... We demand answers from the Congress Party on whether or not action will be initiated against the Telangana Chief Minister."

00:05A bag man because, you know, he was infamously caught with 50 lakh rupees in a bag trying to bribe MLA's and trying to purchase MLA's and destabilize the government.

00:20As per the charge sheet filed by the Enforcement Directorate in the National Herald case,

00:24Mr. Revant Riddy, who is now the Chief Minister of Telangana, who was the then PCC President,

00:30had openly bribed a lot of his, you know, a lot of his Congress office bearers

00:36and also sought money from business houses is what the ED is charge sheeting, is what the ED is accusing him of.

00:44What I would like to ask Mr. Rahul Gandhi is, will you at least now take responsibility?

00:48Back in the day when your own party MP, Mr. Venkat Riddy, Comerty Riddy, Venkat Riddy,

00:54had accused Revant Riddy of purchasing the PCC President post with 50 crores of rupees,

01:00your party did not respond.

01:02Now the ED has charge sheeted Mr. Revant Riddy.

01:04Now the cat is out of the bag.

01:06It is very clear that Telangana has now become an ATM for the Congress party.

01:11Back in the day, it was selling posts and buying posts within the Congress party.

01:16Now it is open loot in the Telangana state.

01:19Now Telangana has literally become the ATM for Congress party.

01:23And regularly, one scam after another scam, Amrut scam, RR tax, civil supply scam and numerous others

01:32have been happening in Telangana.

01:34And the outright loot of Scamgress party and Mr. Venkat Riddy is now out in the open.

01:39I hope the All India Congress Committee, President of All India Congress Committee, Mr. Khadge,

01:44and also Mr. Rahul Gandhi, who is the leader of opposition, who talks of constitution and nyai every day,

01:50respond to this and also come out with a clear-cut statement on whether they would continue Mr. Revant Riddy in the post

01:56or whether they will sack him.

01:58We demand answers from Mr. Rahul Gandhi because this is an open and shut case

02:02where a clear case of bribery, a clear case of money being used to sell posts and buy posts

02:10as it has been accused in the past by congressmen has now been established by ED.

02:14So we demand answers from the Congress party whether or not an action would be initiated against the Telangana chief minister.
