00:00In this video, I'm gonna buy and build 10 cheap, basic, and old LEGO sets.
00:04Then, I'm gonna challenge myself to upgrade them in different ways to make them way better.
00:08So, let's go.
00:09Okay, it's time to upgrade the first LEGO set.
00:11So, I quickly speed ran to the LEGO store and copped one.
00:16Okay, so basically, this LEGO set is a giant minifig.
00:19Dang, it's like a minifig ate one of those mushrooms from Mario.
00:22And if we open up his hat, there's actually a guy living inside of his head.
00:25It's like the people from Inside Out.
00:27But as cool as this minifig is, he looks pretty basic and has absolutely no style.
00:32So, I'm gonna upgrade this set by building him a bunch of custom accessories.
00:35That way, he can get some drip.
00:36The first thing I did was take his basic hat and replace it with a Gucci bucket hat using a sideways building technique.
00:42I'm also gonna give him a 24 karat gold chain with a 24 karat gold LEGO brick, a very iced out Rolex, and a custom pair of LEGO shoes.
00:51And I tried my best to replicate some Air Jordan ones.
00:54And okay, our minifigs looking very fresh.
00:56A quick fit check.
00:58Okay, let's go.
00:58Dang, I didn't know bro was chill like that.
01:00Yes, sir.
01:01Okay, this next LEGO set is based off of Star Wars and it has over 4,000 pieces.
01:05Basically, this is supposed to be a replica of the Death Star from the movies.
01:10This thing looks like a massive ball and it's got 12 different rooms with lots of play features and lots of minifigs.
01:17But while I was building this LEGO set, I thought to myself, what if we added lights to it?
01:21So I went and bought a bunch off the internet.
01:25Now we can start to attach them around the build.
01:27And we're gonna see if this thing looks as cool as I think it will.
01:30Okay, the lights are gonna go on in 3, 2, 1.
01:34Let's go!
01:35Yo, this would have been such a flex as a kid.
01:37Okay, each room has different colors of lights.
01:40The giant gun on the side is glowing.
01:42I even got the lightsabers to glow.
01:43I don't know if this is worth $100 though, because I mean, I did pay like $100 for this.
01:48Okay, so for this next LEGO set, we're gonna go way back in time.
01:52Because here's a LEGO set from 1998.
01:56It's basically this Egyptian-themed LEGO set.
01:59Okay, when you push this pillar, it falls over.
02:01And if you move this statue, a bunch of spikes come down.
02:04And most importantly, there's a tomb with a mummy.
02:07But this tomb kind of feels basic, so I'm gonna build a giant one full of tons of play features
02:12like working booby traps.
02:13My first step was to build the entrance to the tomb using some of the higher glyphs
02:17that I stole from the LEGO set.
02:19And to get inside, I made these sliding doors.
02:21Now we can start building the inside of the tomb, so I'm gonna add the first booby trap,
02:25which is a wall that can collapse on top of you.
02:27Moving our way down, I'm gonna build the next booby trap, which is a giant pit of venomous snakes.
02:32And if you manage to get past that, I'm gonna build the next booby trap,
02:35which is a wall full of darts that will shoot at you.
02:38And if you manage to make it past those traps, you can reward yourself
02:42with this precious ruby that's worth millions of dollars.
02:44Let's go, we can donate this to a famous museum.
02:47Oh crap, wait, there was actually one more trap I forgot to mention.
02:51Get pranked.
02:52It's time to unbox the next LEGO set, and this one is a passenger airplane.
02:57Okay, so after building it, there's a feature where you can take off the roof to see the inside.
03:02Okay, this plane's actually pretty massive, but there's literally five seats in it.
03:05I think we need to upgrade this plane so it can fit more people.
03:08So I'm gonna fully renovate the interior of this plane and add more seats.
03:12Okay, now this plane can fit 15 passengers.
03:15There's a flight attendant in the back serving drinks.
03:17And I've seen airplane seats that turn into a bed, and they're extremely expensive,
03:21so I added a few in the back.
03:23And finally, if you gotta go, in the very back of the plane, there's a bathroom.
03:27Okay, and it looks like our plane is ready to take off.
03:29So everyone fasten their seatbelt, and there's gonna be a little bit of turbulence.
03:33Okay, the next set we're gonna upgrade is this LEGO Nintendo Entertainment System.
03:39It comes with a working console, a controller that plugs in,
03:42and this working LEGO TV that actually plays a game of Mario.
03:46But to upgrade this set, what if we put an actual working screen inside of it?
03:52Okay, let's see if it works.
03:55Okay, is this dumb, or am I actually a genius right now?
03:58Because I can literally play any game I want at this point.
04:00Okay, here's another LEGO set. It's a LEGO police boat.
04:03Just like a normal boat, this one's designed to float on water.
04:06But to truly upgrade it and make it function like a real boat,
04:09I'm gonna put a LEGO motor on the back of it attached to a propeller that can actually push it forward.
04:14So let's take it outside and see what happens.
04:17No way, it's actually going. Let's go!
04:19Okay, it is moving forward, just very slowly.
04:21But we're gonna count this as a W.
04:23Okay, let's get it out of the pool.
04:27Bro.
04:27Okay, this next LEGO set is actually the oldest one that I bought for this video
04:31because it's from 1983.
04:34And after finishing it, it's a tiny burger restaurant with a chef
04:38and one customer that's craving for a burger.
04:40And because this set is so old, it kind of feels outdated,
04:43and there's some weird things about it.
04:44Okay, that's a really weird looking burger.
04:46Why is the onion ring on the very edge?
04:48Also, look at the burger.
04:49It's literally three plates on top of each other.
04:51Gordon Ramsay would not approve of this.
04:53So to upgrade this set, I want to build a fully realistic burger restaurant.
04:57And what's an iconic burger restaurant?
05:00McDonald's.
05:00So I'm gonna build one in LEGO.
05:02Okay, the outside's done.
05:03It looks pretty modern.
05:04Now we can turn the building around and start customizing the interior.
05:08Okay, there's a storage room in the back for supplies.
05:10A full kitchen to make the food, including an ice cream machine.
05:13But it actually works.
05:15There's cookies for sale, an employee selling food, and a manager in case a Karen wants to talk to one.
05:21So far, this is looking like a pretty realistic burger restaurant.
05:24So for the customers that purchase burgers, I'm gonna add an outdoor seating area where they can eat.
05:28Okay, there's someone drinking a Grimace shake.
05:30And I just discovered that if you take these yellow crystals, they kind of look like french fries.
05:35Now it's time to add some final finishing touches to this build,
05:38like the iconic McDonald's logo that I custom built with scratch Lego pieces.
05:42And I also added a drive-thru.
05:43So there you go.
05:44We went from this to this.
05:46Wow, I'm loving it.
05:47McDonald's did not pay me to do this, by the way.
05:49Let's eat some chicken nuggets to celebrate.
05:52Okay, the next LEGO set we're gonna look at is from 1990.
05:56Basically, this is supposed to be a tiny sport car.
05:59It comes with one minifig, and it can sit in the car if you remove this roof.
06:02What the heck?
06:03It's so triangular.
06:04It looks like a math problem.
06:05But not gonna lie, this car looks really old and outdated.
06:08So I'm gonna completely redesign it to look like a modern sports car.
06:12To build the car, I'm gonna use a lot of advanced building techniques.
06:15I'm gonna use transparent pieces for lights, these hollow round pieces for exhaust tips, grill pieces for air vents.
06:21And I used an illegal building technique with these robot arms to make a giant spoiler on the back.
06:26Okay, and our LEGO car is finished.
06:28If there was a premium subscription version of this car, it would be this one.
06:31Okay, it's time for the next LEGO set.
06:33This one is a small LEGO Star Wars battle pack.
06:36It comes with four clone troopers and two very tactical vehicles, like this land speeder and this walking mech.
06:43But to upgrade this set, what if I put a dent in my bank account and bought four more of them?
06:47Because I want to combine these all together to build one massive LEGO army.
06:51It's like pressing the copy and paste button in real life.
06:54Our army is ready for battle.
06:56But the real question is, can they withstand my leaf blower?
07:03Wow, everything went on the floor, guys.
07:05And now, it's time to unbox the final LEGO set.
07:08So I searched the internet and bought this one for $10.
07:11Basically, it's a tiny LEGO house that comes with two minifigs and some other small details like a car, tree, and a dog.
07:17I'm gonna be honest, I think this is the most basic LEGO set I've ever seen.
07:21Like, I truly believe that a seven-year-old fan of my channel could build something better than this.
07:25This is like the LEGO equivalent of a default Roblox character.
07:29So I have a plan to upgrade this LEGO house into a luxurious LEGO mansion.
07:33I'm gonna start by building the outside of the house, and I want this to look super expensive like a celebrity would live here.
07:38Okay, the outside is finished.
07:40And to go with it, we can add that expensive sports car we made earlier.
07:43Now it's time to turn the build around and customize the interior.
07:46So I'm gonna add lots of expensive rooms, furniture, and decorations.
07:50Okay, the inside is finished.
07:52I included some gold-framed artwork, a fountain, aquarium, a chessboard, record player.
07:57Basically, I just wanted to add, like, stereotypical stuff that rich people would own.
08:01Okay, so we went from this cheap NPC-looking house to this giant mansion.
08:05That's a W.
08:06Those were the 10 LEGO sets that we upgraded.
