00:03Authorities have identified the gunman in last week's deadly shooting at the Las Vegas Athletic
00:07Club, LVAC, as 34-year-old Daniel Ortega. During a press conference held Monday,
00:13the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, LVMPD, provided new details about the incident
00:18and confirmed the victim as 31-year-old Edgar Quinones, a longtime LVAC employee.
00:24Assistant Sheriff Jamie Prosser said Ortega entered the LVAC location on North Rainbow
00:29Boulevard around 1.30pm on Friday armed with a rifle that he walked past multiple gymgoers
00:34and approached the front desk where Quinones was working. A second employee briefly interacted
00:39with Ortega before fleeing when the suspect raised his weapon and opened fire.
