00:03Authorities have identified the man fatally shot by Delaware State Police following a
00:07confrontation on May 1 as 44-year-old Gregory Painter, of Milford.
00:12According to State Police, the incident began just before 4 p.m. when multiple 911 calls were
00:17received about a possible impaired driver on Route 9, Lewis Georgetown Highway, near Harbison Road.
00:22Callers reported that a red Ford F-150 pickup truck was driving erratically, moving slowly,
00:27swerving into oncoming lanes, and drifting onto the shoulder.
00:30Responding troopers located the vehicle, operated by Painter, on Coolspring Road near Fisher Road.
00:36When troopers attempted a traffic stop, Painter allegedly refused to comply,
00:40prompting a brief vehicle pursuit.
