00:28when they made the trade for him.
00:30We kind of knew that that was the idea behind it,
00:33that he was going to get an extension.
00:35But what is really excellent about this, and I mean excellent,
00:40is that this is a team leader type.
00:43The value, if you appreciate, you know, we talked about this last year
00:48when they had eight different captains
00:50and none of them were from the offensive line.
00:53There is no unit in football like the offensive line,
00:58which is the team within a team where everybody has to operate together
01:03in order to get something done.
01:06You brought in a guy who is a really good leader of that group,
01:11and now you've extended him,
01:13and that is great news for the Bears moving forward.
01:17He was making a lot of money.
01:18He came here.
01:20He had signed with the Chiefs.
01:21Remember, one of the highest paid guards in football.
01:24I think he was maybe the fifth highest paid guard in the league.
01:28He's not inexpensive, but he's worth every penny
01:31because of the value he brings and the credibility he offers.
01:34So I think that this contract extension will likely be north of $16 million per year
01:41because that's a going rate for guys of his caliber.
