00:00This is the ninth straight season that Toronto failed to advance past the second round.
00:05Toronto's now lost seven straight game sevens.
00:07It's been 21,203 days since the Leafs last won the Cup.
00:127,699 days since they last won a game seven.
00:16Now, the Florida guys last night tried to basically hammer it home as much as they could
00:22that this wasn't the same Toronto team.
00:26The town is too hard on them.
00:28The fans are too hard on them.
00:30Everybody, so let's, I got two of these here.
00:32First, here's Maurice saying that the series was a lot closer than all you people are going to say here in Toronto.
00:39Those games are so tight.
00:42The emotion, the buildup to the games.
00:46When we score the first goal, we own the first 10 minutes of the first period.
00:50They own the second that 10 minutes.
00:52That's it.
00:52They're both teams were, if you flip it, you'd say, oh, they came out right.
00:57Like, we came out right.
00:59They found the answer to come back at us.
01:02That's the truth, right?
01:03We scored a goal, and then we got those two.
01:06And it's just a puck to the net.
01:07It's not, it's so much closer than you think, but you're going to kill these guys, and they don't deserve it.
01:14That was, that's seven games, and we played well.
01:17I didn't like our first period in game one.
01:20We played well in the two losses.
01:23Listen, I, everything there was a load of Shaq that he just said.
01:28Listen, you do not outscore someone 12 to two in games five and seven and tell me the games were close.
01:35And that they were in it every period.
01:39Like, he was just talking.
01:40Like, he was being classy and nice, and it was a load of Shaq, is what it was.
01:45Just a load of Bull Shaq.
01:48It was.
01:49Now, what I thought, whether you like Brad Marchand or not, and most people don't like him because he's a pain in the ass to play against.
01:57I thought that last night he said some of the most interesting things ever.
02:01To hear somebody actually say it out loud, what everybody knows, and that is that the fans in Toronto put way too much pressure on their players and on their organization.
02:14Here's Marchand, who's now, by the way, I think it's five and oh in game sevens against the Toronto Maple Leafs in his career.
02:22He went on for about ten minutes about how he grew up a Maple Leafs fan, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
02:26But here's the good stuff, talking about how the city sets them up to fail.
02:31When you win a cup and you play in some of the games that this team played in last year, like, these are not high-pressure games.
02:37You know, when you're playing for an actual cup and you give up a three-game lead and then you're in game seven, like, that's a high-pressure game, right?
02:45So, you know, in game seven, second round, yeah, it's a high-pressure game, but it's not compared to some other games the guys have played.
02:51So when you actually look at that and then when you see the pressure that Toronto faces and, you know, everyone's talking about whatever the 20, 30-year build-up,
02:59I don't even know what it is, but you see the fans and the way they're talking, like, they just beat the pressure into this team.
03:05And it's got to be tough on those guys to walk to the rink every day and not feel that because, I mean, you see the way the fans treat them at the end.
03:14And, like, how do you not feel that every single day, you know, and when you go through big games, like, you realize which are actually big games and which are just, you know, big moments.
