00:00Good morning, everybody.
00:06Thank you for joining us early today.
00:09We have a very busy day, so we wanted to kick off
00:12the week right this morning after a great trip
00:14last week.
00:15It's good to see all of you back in Washington.
00:17This afternoon, in the Rose Garden, President
00:20Trump, alongside First Lady Melania Trump, will
00:22sign the Take It Down Act into law.
00:25First Lady Melania Trump was instrumental in
00:27getting this important legislation passed.
00:30The Take It Down Act will protect victims of
00:32digital exploitation, hold Internet platforms
00:35accountable by requiring them to remove such
00:38imagery from their platforms, and provide
00:40justice for victims by allowing prosecutors to go
00:43after those who publish non-consensual, explicit
00:48images online.
00:50The First Lady met with members in the House and
00:52the Senate, survivors and their families, and
00:55advocates throughout the process to get this bill
00:58across the finish line.
00:59We are grateful for the First Lady's hard work and
01:01dedication to this issue.
01:03And moving forward, she will continue to champion
01:06the well-being of our nation's children through
01:08her Be Best agenda.
01:10I know the President looks forward to signing
01:11that bill into law later this afternoon, and we
01:14will see you all there.
01:15In other news, the One Big Beautiful Bill passed the
01:18House Budget Committee last night, bringing it
01:20one step closer to final passage.
01:23The One Big Beautiful Bill is perfectly named
01:25because it represents a once-in-a-generation
01:28opportunity to deliver on the Make America Great
01:31Again agenda responsible for President Trump's
01:33landslide victory on November 5th.
01:36The America First policies in this bill are the
01:38reason why Republicans currently have the
01:41majority in Congress right now.
01:43Passing this bill is what voters sent Republicans to
01:46Washington to accomplish.
01:48And that's why it's essential that every
01:51Republican in the House and the Senate unites
01:54behind President Trump and passes this popular and
01:57essential legislative package.
02:00This bill will be the single most pro-small
02:03business, pro-family, and pro-American worker
02:07legislation ever.
02:09This bill will give Americans the largest tax
02:11cuts in our nation's history.
02:14When Republicans pass the bill, Americans will be
02:16keeping more of their hard-earned money and
02:18taking home much bigger paychecks.
02:21The One Big Beautiful Bill will deliver some of
02:23President Trump's central campaign promises.
02:26No tax on tips for our hardworking waiters,
02:29waitresses, and service workers.
02:31No tax on overtime for our law enforcement
02:33officers, our firefighters, and all those
02:36who are Americans who are putting in extra hours to
02:38make ends meet.
02:40And a large tax deduction on interest payments for
02:43Americans who purchase American-made cars.
02:47Despite desperate Democrat lies, the biggest
02:49beneficiary of this tax cut will be working-class
02:52Americans and their families.
02:55Americans earning between $30,000 and $80,000 per
02:58year will pay about 15 percent less in taxes
03:02after this legislation is passed.
03:04And according to a brand-new paper from the
03:06White House Council of Economic Advisers, the
03:09average family with two children's take-home pay
03:12will be up to $13,000 higher because of the
03:16increase in wages and reductions in tax
03:19obligations.
03:20The CEA study also said that the average overtime
03:23worker receives a tax cut of roughly $2,000.
03:27Again, this is great news for our nurses, our
03:30police officers, and all those who work overtime to
03:33make ends meet across our country.
03:35Put simply, President Trump's One Big Beautiful
03:38Bill will be a boon for working-class America.
03:41This One Big Beautiful Bill is also pro-family.
03:44It will increase the child tax credit to $2,500 per
03:47child, establish optional savings account for
03:50newborn babies with a $1,000 credit added, and
03:53strengthen paid family leave.
03:56This bill also delivers historic tax relief to
03:59America's seniors by allowing middle- and
04:01low-income Social Security recipients to deduct an
04:04additional $4,000 in payments from their
04:06taxable income.
04:08If Democrats get their way and the Trump tax cuts are
04:11not extended, Americans will face the largest tax
04:14hike in history, to the tune of $4 trillion.
04:18Republicans must not side with Democrats in helping
04:21them raise taxes.
04:23The One Big Beautiful Bill also provides critical
04:25protections of Medicaid, which will strengthen and
04:28preserve the program for decades to come through
04:30common-sense efforts to eliminate waste, fraud,
04:34and abuse.
04:35Medicaid will no longer be used to pay for barbaric
04:38gender mutilation procedures on minor
04:40children.
04:41And the 1.4 million illegal aliens who are
04:43currently improperly receiving Medicaid benefits
04:46will be kicked off the program to preserve it for
04:49hardworking American citizens who need it.
04:52President Trump and Republicans are protecting
04:54Medicaid benefits for pregnant women, children,
04:57disabled individuals, low-income seniors and
04:59families, and the most vulnerable Americans in
05:02our society.
05:03And that's what Democrats are so angry about — basic
05:07Medicaid protections that will stop the funding of
05:09transgender insanity and illegal aliens from ripping
05:13off American taxpayers.
05:15As you all know, over his first four months in
05:17office, President Trump ended the previous
05:19administration's open border crisis and secured
05:22our homeland in record time, all using executive authority.
05:26Now Congress needs to act.
05:28The One Big Beautiful Bill is the most significant
05:31investment in our nation's Border Patrol and law
05:34enforcement agents in our nation's history.
05:37The bill ensures that President Trump's popular
05:39and successful border security measures are made
05:41permanent.
05:43Republicans have the backs of Border Patrol and ICE
05:45agents who were put through hell over the past four
05:48years and have quickly worked to secure our
05:50southern border.
05:51And that's why this bill gives them more resources
05:54to do their jobs, including a $10,000 much-needed
05:57bonus to ICE agents and Border Patrol agents over
06:00the next four years.
06:02To provide those brave agents with desperately
06:04needed reinforcements on the ground, the bill
06:06allows for the hiring of thousands of new ICE
06:08personnel, customs officers, and Border
06:10Patrol agents.
06:11These significant hirings will empower President
06:14Trump to continue delivering on his promise
06:16to carry out the largest mass deportation in the
06:19history of our country.
06:21Again, that is a promise that Republicans made to
06:24American voters.
06:24It's a promise they were elected on, and it's a
06:26promise Republicans on Capitol Hill need to keep
06:29secure our border.
06:31To supplement those efforts, the bill fund the
06:33bill's funds will fund the completion of President
06:37Trump's signature border wall.
06:39As a result, 701 miles of primary wall, 900 miles of
06:43river barriers, 629 miles of secondary barriers, and
06:47141 miles of vehicle and pedestrian barriers will
06:51be constructed when this bill passes, along with
06:53cutting-edge technology to secure our homeland from
06:56dangerous, illegal alien invaders.
06:59This bill also advances our national security and
07:01defense interests by ensuring the United
07:03States military has the necessary resources to
07:06remain the strongest and most lethal fighting force
07:10in the world.
07:11The bill will provide resources for the
07:13construction of President Trump's Golden Dome to
07:15safeguard Americans from potential attacks, give
07:18the Coast Guard resources to build more modernized
07:20ships, and the Air Force resources to acquire
07:23better planes.
07:24If all of those incredible things were not
07:26enough, the big, beautiful bill also finally
07:29modernizes air traffic control in America, a
07:32bipartisan issue.
07:33The bill will allow President Trump to
07:35deliver on his promise to overhaul and update our
07:38air traffic control systems to keep Americans
07:41flying as safe and efficiently as possible.
07:44The previous administration failed to act
07:46and do this themselves, despite repeated warnings
07:48from the GAO, which has resulted in unacceptable
07:51delays at major airports like Newark that the
07:53Trump administration is working hard to address.
07:56When the one big, beautiful bill passes, we
07:58will replace the current antiquated system, the
08:01FAA will enhance safety in our skies, reduce delays,
08:04and empower the future of air travel in the
08:06United States.
08:08That's just some of what this historic legislation
08:10will accomplish.
08:12It is absolutely essential that Republicans unite
08:15behind the one big, beautiful bill and deliver
08:18on President Trump's agenda.
08:19There is no time to waste.
08:21Americans gave Republicans a once-in-a-generation
08:24opportunity to course-correct our country
08:26over many wrongs over the past four years.
08:29And Americans are counting on Republicans to work as
08:31hard as President Trump is in this White House
08:33every day on Capitol Hill, send this legislation to
08:36his desk as soon as possible for his signature.
08:40Here in our new media seat today, we have Liam
08:41Crosgrove, the White House correspondent for
08:43Zero Hedge.
08:44With that, Liam, please kick us off.
08:45The Press Thank you, Caroline.
08:47So, first question is on foreign policy.
08:49Ms. Sanders Sure.
08:49The Press The President has made several moves
08:51towards peace on multiple fronts, India, Pakistan,
08:54with the Houthis, talking with Iran and talking with
08:57Putin.
08:58Biden didn't even talk to Putin for the entire span
09:00of the war, which is crazy, considering two
09:02nuclear powers were engaged in a proxy war.
09:05So, I do admire these moves by the current
09:07President, I'll be honest.
09:10However, as of today, we are still funding both
09:13Israel's and Ukraine's wars.
09:15So, can Americans expect to finally be done financing
09:20foreign wars at some point?
09:21Would you consider that one of the President's goals?
09:23Ms. Sanders Well, I think I can summarize the
09:27President's foreign policy agenda with two words,
09:30America first.
09:31And that means putting the American people and the
09:33American taxpayer first.
09:35And that's why the President is moving as
09:36quickly as he possibly can and working overtime to
09:40end these conflicts in both Israel and in Gaza,
09:43and also the Russia-Ukraine war.
09:45As you all know, the President will be
09:46speaking with Putin at 10 o'clock.
09:49He plans to call President Zelensky when that call
09:51concludes.
09:52I spoke to the President about that call at 10
09:54o'clock.
09:55I don't want to get ahead of those very important
09:56conversations, but, of course, you will hear
09:58directly from the President or me after
10:01those calls conclude today.
10:02So, you can expect that.
10:03As for Israel and Gaza, the President continues to
10:07not only himself, but his national security team,
10:10engage in talks on both sides of this conflict.
10:13The President made it very clear to Hamas that he
10:15wanted to see all hostages released.
10:18And last week, when we were flying out of town,
10:21there was great news on that front with the return
10:23of Eden Alexander, who was the last remaining
10:25hostage in Gaza.
10:26So, to answer your question, the President
10:28is always thinking about the American people, the
10:30American taxpayer first.
10:31He wants these conflicts to end, not just to save
10:34money, but, most importantly, to save lives.
10:36The Press Thank you.
10:37And my only other question for you is, so, over the
10:40weekend, President Trump posted Truth Social, a
10:43video highlighting what most people call the
10:45Clinton body count, which is the strange number of
10:48suicides that seem to happen in Clinton circles.
10:51I have a headline here from The Washington Post
10:53that said, Trump peddles false conspiracy theories
10:56tying the Clintons to several deaths.
10:59So, I just wanted to highlight, real quick,
11:00this wasn't in Trump's video, but this is from
11:02the Arkansas Times, and it's the death of Mark
11:05Middleton, who was a former Clinton White House
11:07aide, who was found dead on a Clinton Foundation
11:10property.
11:11And I'll just quote from the Arkansas Times,
11:12Middleton apparently shot himself in the chest with
11:15a shotgun and also hung himself from a tree with
11:18an extension cord.
11:19So, I have no idea how somebody commits suicide
11:22that way, but if The Washington Post is here,
11:24maybe you can enlighten us as to how that was
11:25actually a suicide.
11:27So, anyways, that's just a lead-in to my question
11:29about the most famous Clinton-related suicide,
11:32which is that of Jeffrey Epstein.
11:34There's still a lot of questions around that case.
11:37You've released phase one of the Epstein files.
11:39What was missing from that is any connection to his
11:42ties to intelligence agencies, and that's
11:43really the whole story, that not just trafficking
11:46young girls, but doing it on behalf of intelligence
11:48agencies, and even potentially as part of a
11:51blackmail ring with potential ties to the
11:54Israeli government.
11:54So, for phase two, when can we expect it?
11:58Will it have information pertaining to those
12:01aspects of the Epstein case?
12:02I know the Attorney General has committed to
12:05releasing those files.
12:06I would defer you to the Department of Justice on
12:08her timeline, but when she has made a promise in the
12:10past, she has kept it, and I'm certain that she will
12:13in this case as well.
12:14Rachel.
12:15Thanks so much, Caroline.
12:16The President set a two-week deadline for
12:18Ukraine and Russia to negotiate a deal.
12:20That time is now up.
12:21Does the President intend to set a new deadline on
12:24this call with President Putin?
12:25And how much longer is he willing to give these talks?
12:27Yeah, I don't want to get ahead of the specifics of
12:29the conversation the President will be having
12:31with President Putin in less than an hour this
12:33morning, but he has made clear throughout the
12:36entirety of this conflict, since he inherited it
12:38from Joe Biden, don't forget this is a war that
12:40began because of the previous administration's
12:42incompetence and weakness, and President Trump is
12:45working very hard to fix it.
12:46He has made it clear to both sides that he wants
12:48to see a peaceful resolution and a ceasefire
12:51as soon as possible.
12:52But as for specifics on a timeline, I won't get
12:55ahead of the President.
12:56And just on the goals for this call in particular,
12:59is the goal to get Putin to agree to a ceasefire?
13:02Is the goal to lead to some sort of in-person
13:04negotiations with Putin and the President?
13:06Well, I think, again, we'll see how the call goes.
13:09And the President has made it clear his goal is to
13:11see a ceasefire and to see this conflict come to an end.
13:13And he's grown weary and frustrated with both
13:15sides of the conflict.
13:16The President and his team have put an enormous
13:19amount of effort in solving this very
13:21complicated war that, again, began because of
13:23the last administration's weakness.
13:25Steve.
13:26Does he still want to meet Putin personally?
13:27I think the President would certainly be open to
13:30that, but let's see how this call goes today.
13:31What's the status of the secondary sanctions
13:34package?
13:34The President has been talking about that.
13:36You haven't imposed them yet, but is that still
13:38on the table?
13:39I think everything is on the table, yes.
13:40And, again, I won't get ahead of the President
13:42in any commitments or decisions, but certainly
13:45it's something he's been looking at and discussing.
13:47Elaine.
13:47Hi, Kayleigh.
13:48I want to ask you about the House bill, budget bill.
13:50So, does the President agree with Republicans
13:53behind this bill that Medicaid work requirements
13:55should be implemented as soon as 2026?
13:58So, the President wants to preserve and protect
14:00Medicaid for Americans who this program was intended
14:05for, the most vulnerable in our society, pregnant
14:08women, low-income families, seniors, those who truly
14:11need these benefits.
14:13And it should be going to people who physically
14:16cannot work.
14:17We want to see abled-bodied Americans at least
14:21working 20 hours per week, whether that's part-time
14:24or full-time, whether that's even looking for
14:26work or volunteering for 20 hours a week if they
14:29are receiving Medicaid.
14:30These are common-sense provisions.
14:33These are common-sense changes that were
14:34actually introduced by former Democrat President
14:37Clinton.
14:38They've been supported by every Democrat President
14:40since, including the previous President, Joe
14:42Biden.
14:43But, again, these are common-sense reforms to
14:46ensure that those that this program was intended
14:50for receive those benefits.
14:51And then, just a quick follow-up.
14:53Is the President okay with this bill adding to the
14:56deficit?
14:57This bill does not add to the deficit.
14:59In fact, according to the Council of Economic
15:01Advisers, this bill will save $1.6 trillion.
15:06And the President absolutely understands and
15:09hears the concerns of fiscal conservatives and
15:12of Americans who want to get our fiscal house in
15:14order.
15:15And that's what the intention of this bill is.
15:17There's $1.6 trillion worth of savings in this
15:19bill.
15:20That's the largest savings for any legislation that
15:23has ever passed Capitol Hill in our nation's
15:26history.
15:26The next bill that even comes close was $800
15:29billion.
15:29That's less than half of the savings that we see
15:32in the one big, beautiful bill.
15:33And so the goal of this bill is to produce
15:36economic growth, to cut taxes, and to get our
15:39fiscal house in order.
15:41And this is the right step and the right
15:42direction towards doing that.
15:43Edward.
15:44Yes, thanks.
15:44And then I'll go to you.
15:45You're awesome.
15:46I want to get the President's reaction to
15:48Moody's downgrading the credit rating of the
15:51United States.
15:53Sure.
15:53Well, look, the President talked about this over the
15:56weekend.
15:56The Secretary of Treasury also talked about it.
15:58When you look at the world, the world has
16:01confidence in the United States of America and our
16:03economy once again.
16:04The President, just last week, secured trillions of
16:07dollars in investments from countries in the
16:09Middle East.
16:10We have seen trillions of dollars of investments
16:12flowing into our economy since the President
16:15took office.
16:16That is because America or people around the world
16:20have confidence in the United States of America.
16:21And if you also just look at the raw economic data
16:24that we're seeing, last week, when we were out of
16:26town, inflation dropped once again.
16:28Oil prices are dropping.
16:29Gas prices are dropping.
16:30The President has added nearly a half million jobs
16:33to the American economy already.
16:35So there's a lot of optimism in this economy,
16:37and the President disagrees with that assessment.
16:39And I want to ask you one more thing, if I could.
16:41On your Middle East trip, the United Arab Emirates
16:43is getting some of the most advanced AI chips, and
16:46there's agreements there.
16:47The UAE is the newest member of BRICS.
16:49Is there a concern from the President that those
16:51chips and the technology will pass through to
16:53China, India, Russia, and Iran?
16:56Part of going to the Middle East was to ensure
16:58that the United States — that this part of the
17:00region, our Gulf partners, know that the United States
17:03of America is there for them again, and that they
17:05should be investing in the United States, not in
17:08China.
17:08And these AI agreements, particularly the one the
17:11Secretary of Commerce signed in the UAE, has
17:14security guarantees to ensure that China is not
17:17getting the advantage, but the United States is
17:19getting the advantage when it comes to AI, and that
17:21the UAE and the U.S.
17:23are working hand-in-hand together to invest in this space.
17:26So, read the agreements.
17:27They're security guarantees, and this was a
17:30great trip for the country, no doubt.
17:32Go ahead.
17:33Thanks, Caroline.
17:33Prime Minister Netanyahu of Israel has said today
17:36that Israel will take control of all of Gaza.
17:40Is that a goal that President Trump is
17:43comfortable with or that he supports?
17:45I'll have to talk to the President about those
17:47comments as they just came, I believe, from the Prime
17:50Minister this morning, and I'll let him speak on that.
17:52The President has made it very clear he wants to
17:54see this conflict in the region end.
17:56He wants all hostages to be released.
17:58He was pleased that Eden Alexander was returned
18:02home safely to his loving family.
18:04The President spoke with Eden directly while we
18:07were traveling to the Middle East last week.
18:09As for the Prime Minister's comments, I'll
18:11let the President himself respond to those.
18:14Sure.
18:14How about two questions?
18:16One, how involved does the President intend to be
18:19directly in talking to House members about the
18:21bill over the next couple of weeks or the next week?
18:24Well, over the weekend, the President was in
18:25direct conversation and communication with the
18:28Speaker of the House.
18:29He's been very involved.
18:31He always is.
18:31He's willing to pick up the phone when he is asked to.
18:35So he'll continue to be very engaged in this
18:37process with both House members and his friends on
18:39the Senate side as well.
18:40And on former President Biden's cancer diagnosis,
18:44the President put out a very, you know, nice
18:46message on Truth Social.
18:47Has he talked to President Biden directly?
18:50Does he intend to call?
18:51What does he intend to say directly?
18:53Not to my knowledge.
18:54I don't believe they have spoken, but I'm sure the
18:56President would be open to doing that.
18:57I spoke to him last night about the former
19:00President's cancer diagnosis, and the
19:02statement that he put out was the initial reaction
19:05he had with me on the phone as well.
19:07Peter.
19:08A follow-up on former President Biden.
19:11White House doctors may have missed the early
19:14stages of his prostate cancer.
19:15So is President Trump worried about the quality
19:19of care that Presidents get here?
19:22Not as far as President Trump is concerned.
19:25The White House physician we have here is
19:28phenomenal, and the team of physicians that take
19:30care of the President, particularly at Walter
19:32Reed Medical Center, are great.
19:34The President had his physical recently, as you know.
19:36He had perfect results.
19:38He's in very good shape.
19:39I think those of you who traveled to the Middle
19:41East with us last week could attest to the
19:43President's endurance.
19:44And, by the way, I will add, we returned home
19:47from a very long and tiring trip last week.
19:50And on Saturday, where was the President?
19:52In the Oval Office, working all day.
19:54He doesn't stop.
19:55He doesn't quit.
19:56He's in great health, and he trusts his physicians.
19:58Two more things.
20:00Putin ghosted everybody at these peace talks last week.
20:04As President Trump phones him today to try to
20:06figure out an end to the Ukraine war, does he think
20:08that Putin is the good guy or the bad guy?
20:13I'll let the President speak on that
20:14conversation later.
20:15He's made his feelings about both sides of this
20:20war quite clear throughout it.
20:21He wants to see it end.
20:22And he could.
20:23And the last one.
20:23What does President Trump mean when he says that
20:27Taylor Swift is no longer hot?
20:29Look, he is speaking about Taylor Swift's political
20:34views and how, perhaps, it has impacted the support
20:37of the American public for her work.
20:39And I will leave it at that.
20:40Annie, go ahead.
20:41Thanks so much, Callen.
20:43I'm just going back one more time to the White
20:45House Medical Office, because there seems to be
20:47some question about this with regard to President
20:50Biden's screening.
20:51Can you say whether or not President Trump is
20:53screening for prostate cancer as part of his physical?
20:55To the best of my understanding, he is.
20:58But we can certainly check in with the White House
21:00physician and go back and look at that physical report.
21:02And then just one other question.
21:04Recently, Stephen Miller at the White House made
21:07some comments about considering suspending
21:11habeas corpus.
21:12And I'm curious if there's any update on how the
21:15White House is exploring that option to enact the
21:18President's agenda.
21:19I don't have any update at this time, but I can check
21:21in with our Deputy Chief of Staff.
21:23Mary Margaret.
21:24Go ahead.
21:24Thanks, Caroline.
21:25Given the ongoing revelations about the
21:27former President's mental acuity and how staff and
21:31media covered that up, especially with the
21:33release of this book, two days, I think, is there
21:37any interest in further scrutiny of Kevin O'Connor,
21:39the former President's physician?
21:41I'll let the President speak on that.
21:44I'll — I spoke to the President again about the
21:46former President's health diagnosis last night, and
21:49he wanted to extend his warmest wishes to the
21:51former President and his family.
21:53But as for any further action, I'll let the
21:56President speak on that first.
21:57Michelle.
21:58And looking at Vice President Vance's meeting
21:59with Zelensky, can you share any more
22:00information on that?
22:02My understanding was it was a good meeting, a
22:04productive meeting, and we're grateful that the
22:07Vice President did it and that he also went to the
22:11Pope's first mass in Rome.
22:12I also have an update on that.
22:14The Vice President passed along a letter to the
22:17Pope from the President and from the First Lady,
22:19extending their warm wishes and inviting them
22:21to the White House as soon as they possibly can come.
22:24Michelle.
22:24On Iran, Steve Whitkoff said yesterday that
22:27continued enrichment is a red line for the U.S.
22:30The Iranian Foreign Minister says that's going
22:31to continue no matter what.
22:33How committed is the U.S.
22:34to that red line, and what's the next step for
22:35the next round of talks?
22:36We are 100 percent committed to that red line.
22:39The President, Special Envoy Whitkoff, Secretary
22:42Rubio have made that incredibly clear, not
22:44just to the American public, but also in those
22:47discussions that Special Envoy Whitkoff has had
22:49directly with the Iranians.
22:50And the next round of talks?
22:52I don't have an update for you, but we can get one.
22:55To the back row.
22:56Go ahead.
22:56Thank you, Caroline.
22:57You're welcome.
22:58South Africa's President says he's going to come
23:00to the White House to meet with President Trump
23:01on Wednesday.
23:02What are the President's expectations for that trip?
23:05And South Africa's President recently said he
23:07believes the folks that have been resettled here
23:09recently are cowards running away from problems
23:12in South Africa.
23:13Does the White House have a response to that?
23:15So, I did see the South African President put out
23:17that statement.
23:18I want to confirm, on our end, with our Secretary
23:20of State and National Security Advisor, and
23:22we'll get back to you on that.
23:23Monica.
23:24Thanks, Caroline.
23:24You mentioned the President and the First
23:26Lady are signing a historic Take It Down
23:28Act this afternoon.
23:29I'm curious to know, what are some of the
23:30repercussions or consequences for these
23:32online platforms or perpetrators that will
23:34comply with the act?
23:35Well, what this bill does, it takes the initial
23:38step to ensure that prosecutors are able to
23:41take down — that's why it's called the Take It
23:43Down Act — platforms that are allowing this
23:46sexually explicit content on their platform.
23:49So, it gives them more leeway to go after them
23:51as they see fit.
23:52But as for specific repercussions, I would
23:54defer you to the Department of Justice of
23:56how they plan to implement this bill once it is
23:58signed later today.
23:59Brian.
24:00Yes, thank you.
24:02You said in your opening statement, you talked
24:03about this MAGA baby savings account.
24:06Exactly how would that work?
24:09Who would be eligible for it?
24:10I'm assuming women would be eligible for that.
24:13Yes.
24:14So, one of the provisions in the One Big Beautiful
24:17Bill, as I said, this is a very pro-family piece of
24:20legislation.
24:21Not only does it increase the child tax credit, but
24:24it also includes MAGA baby savings accounts for
24:28children that are born before January 1st, 2024,
24:32under 8 years old, U.S.
24:34citizens, and have at least one parent with a
24:36valid Social Security number.
24:39And when this tax provision becomes law, the
24:42child, if the parents seek to do this, will be
24:45set up with a savings account.
24:47Essentially, it's a 401K for a newborn baby and
24:50child's relatives.
24:51Their parents can contribute up to $5,000
24:56per year of after-tax dollars annually to that
24:59account.
25:00And then later in the baby's life, at age 25,
25:03savings account holders can withdraw up to the
25:06full balance of the account.
25:07Upon reaching 30, the account holders can
25:09access the full balance of the account for any
25:12purpose desired.
25:13So it's a great initiative for new parents, new
25:16mothers who want to set up this savings account for
25:18their children.
25:19Weijia.
25:19The Press.
25:20Thank you, Caroline.
25:21President Trump and his top economic aides have
25:23repeatedly said that Americans will not pay the
25:26cost of tariffs.
25:27In fact, last week, Lutnick said people have
25:29to drop the, quote, silly arguments that consumers
25:32would pay the cost.
25:35But over the weekend, as you know, the President
25:37posted that Walmart should eat the tariffs and not
25:41charge the valued customer anything.
25:43I'll be watching, and so will your customers.
25:45So does he acknowledge that if companies don't
25:49absorb the full cost, Americans will have to pay?
25:52Ms. Sanders Well, first of all, the CEO of Walmart
25:55made those comments about the tariffs on an
25:57earnings call, where CEOs, I believe, are legally
26:00obligated to give the most dire warnings and
26:03forecasts to their investors and stakeholders.
26:06The reality is, as the President has always
26:08maintained, Chinese producers will be
26:10absorbing the cost of these tariffs.
26:12And that is why China was so quick to hustle to the
26:15negotiating table with the United States of America.
26:17They need our markets.
26:18They need our consumers.
26:20And I would, again, point you to the inflation
26:22report that came out last week, showing that
26:24inflation is declining, in large part because energy
26:27prices are dropping across the board in this
26:30country because of the President's robust energy
26:33agenda that he has taken since January 20th.
26:36So the President is committed to ensuring
26:38that prices remain low for American consumers, and
26:41he maintains the position that foreign countries
26:43will absorb these tariffs.
26:44Jennifer.
26:45The Press What does he mean by,
26:46I'll be watching Walmart?
26:47Ms. Sanders He'll be watching, seeing what
26:49they're doing.
26:50Jennifer.
26:50The Press On the gift plane from Qatar, three
26:53things.
26:53Is there a timeline for the U.S.
26:55receiving that plane?
26:57Do you know how long it will take to retrofit the
26:59plane to presidential standards?
27:01And thirdly, has the intelligence community,
27:04security folks, have they weighed in on whether that
27:07plane can actually be secured to presidential
27:09standards?
27:10Ms. Sanders I'm glad you brought up this question
27:12because I was watching the American press spew a lot
27:14of misinformation about the plane donation last
27:18week when we were abroad.
27:19Let's be very clear.
27:21The government of Qatar, the Qatari family, has
27:24offered to donate this plane to the United
27:27States Air Force, where that donation will be
27:30accepted according to all legal and ethical
27:33obligations.
27:34It will be retrofitted to the highest of standards
27:38by the Department of Defense and the United
27:40States Air Force.
27:41This plane is not a personal donation or a
27:43gift to the President of the United States.
27:46And everyone who wrote that last week should go
27:48and correct their stories because this is a donation
27:50to our country and to the United States Air Force.
27:53As for a timeline, because it is the United
27:55States Air Force that is accepting the plane, I
27:57would defer you to them for specifics because the
28:00President, frankly, has nothing to do with it.
28:02It's the Air Force's project to take on.
28:05Sure.
28:05Elizabeth.
28:06The Press Thank you so much, Caroline.
28:07Did the President call fiscal conservatives who
28:10were hesitant to vote for the big, beautiful bill?
28:12And if so, what did they say?
28:14What did he say?
28:14Ms. McEnany But I don't reveal the President's
28:16private discussions unless he gives me the
28:18liberty to.
28:19But he has been engaged in this process.
28:21He spoke to the Speaker of the House, and he will
28:24continue to make those phone calls if it's
28:26necessary for him.
28:27Sure.
28:27The Press Thank you.
28:28Thank you, Caroline.
28:29Ms. McEnany I'll go to both of you.
28:30Go ahead.
28:30The Press Thank you.
28:31Two quick updates on Greenland.
28:32Will the President be making any trips?
28:34And do we have any details you can share with us?
28:36Ms. McEnany I don't have any future foreign trips
28:38to read out for you.
28:39We just returned home from one.
28:41But the President maintains the reasoning
28:44for Greenland's strategic purposes in the Arctic,
28:48and he continues to remain committed to the idea of
28:52obtaining Greenland in whatever means we can to
28:55advance our national security interests in the
28:58region.
28:58Sure.
28:59The Press Thank you.
29:00Caroline.
29:00Was Lebanon part of the discussion during the
29:03Middle East tour, and did you meet with any Lebanese
29:05representatives?
29:06Ms. McEnany To my knowledge, the President
29:09did not meet with any representatives from
29:11Lebanon, although he did talk about the election
29:14that they recently had there and how he hopes
29:16that Lebanon can come to a more peaceful place in
29:19their country, and that we drive out Hezbollah
29:22Iranian-backed Hezbollah proxies in Lebanon to
29:24ensure peace and prosperity in that country
29:27and also for the greater Middle Eastern region.
29:29And I would just add to that before I wrap up
29:31because the President's call will begin in a few minutes.
29:33The President's historic tour to the Middle East
29:35last week truly reset our foreign policy agenda in
29:40that region.
29:40I think, actually, in fact, the Washington Post
29:43had a headline, President Trump Remakes U.S.
29:46Foreign Policy in the Middle East.
29:48And that's absolutely true.
29:49He took a courageous and bold step to lift
29:52sanctions on Syria.
29:53He strengthened our ties with our Gulf partners,
29:56and he put Iran into a very difficult position
29:59because the United States of America is back.
30:01And I will summarize the President's trip with an
30:04anecdote that I heard directly from a member of
30:06one of the foreign delegations.
30:08I asked him how hopeful their country was when
30:11they learned President Trump won the election.
30:13And he told me, when President Trump won the
30:15election, it was like the lights turned on in a dark room.
30:19For the past four years, to the rest of the world,
30:21America was dark.
30:23We were unresponsive.
30:24We did not pick up the phone.
30:25We did not return calls.
30:27All of that has changed under the leadership of
30:29this President.
30:29And I think the world saw that last week with this
30:32historic and wildly successful trip.
30:35And the work continues.
30:36The President will be speaking to President
30:37Putin at 10 a.m., and we'll have a readout for
30:39you after that call.
30:40And we'll see you in the Rose Garden at 3 o'clock.
30:42Thanks, guys.
