00:00Hey Chris.
00:01Hey Dodo.
00:02Want to tell us why you're here today?
00:04I'm about to go on my Dodo dream date with my foster dog, Max.
00:08It smells really good.
00:10Yeah, shower.
00:11This is actually a double date.
00:13You'll also meet my other foster dog, Jack,
00:15but he prefers to be an only dog,
00:17so the dates are happening separately.
00:20Yeah.
00:22And I've fallen in love with Max.
00:23I brought a rose for him.
00:28What do you think?
00:29Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:31Yeah.
00:32No, not so much.
00:33So the objective of this dream date
00:36is to show the world how incredible my foster dog, Max, is,
00:41and to pretty, pretty please find him a forever home.
00:44I'm loving Max already.
00:46Can you tell us a bit about him?
00:47Of course.
00:48Max is around two years old.
00:51We don't know for sure.
00:52He was found on the streets.
00:53He needed a lot of help.
00:54When I rescued him in October,
00:56he was an unhappy, unhealthy dog.
00:59He hadn't eaten.
01:00He was super skinny.
01:01He was gray.
01:02And now look at him.
01:03He's gained like 20 pounds.
01:05He's obeying leash commands.
01:07And he's just a lover.
01:08He's an absolute lover.
01:10Aren't you?
01:11Right?
01:12You're like a giant tennis ball.
01:14I would take him in a heartbeat if I wasn't already dog heavy at my house.
01:19He really likes physical attention like I do.
01:24And loves to cuddle.
01:27And he's got incredible hair like I do.
01:34Two dates in one day.
01:35So you may have noticed that this is not Max,
01:37but this is my other foster, Jack.
01:39While Max is taking a quick, quick nap,
01:41Jack and I are going to have a quick bite.
01:43Jack is a two-year-old mastiff.
01:45He was 40 pounds underweight,
01:48and his nails had grown over his paws,
01:51and he had pneumonia.
01:52He had a kidney infection.
01:54And this giant dog was wrapped in a ball
01:57that's so tiny, and he was so sad.
02:00It broke my heart.
02:01And now look at him.
02:02He's a giant.
02:03He's gained 40 pounds.
02:05Really, really hoping that someone out there
02:07can take him and give him the life that he deserves.
02:14And I think he just spotted my peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
02:17Jack, why don't we not eat the mud, pal?
02:22What do you think?
02:23He's a very elegant eater, too,
02:25which I'm sure everybody will appreciate.
02:28Started fostering Jack in October.
02:31Same time I fostered Max.
02:34And we found four other dogs that we found homes for.
02:38Get him with a trainer so they could, you know.
02:41Here you go, pal.
02:42I'm pretty sure you want that.
02:46He's smelling more hot dogs.
02:48Not for you, pal.
02:50Can you also tell us about your two rescue dogs?
03:02Winnie was seven going on eight.
03:04I say she always wears a tuxedo.
03:06Very elegant.
03:07Babs I got from an adoption agency.
03:09She's a Staffie and a Chihuahua and God knows what else.
03:11She's a full L.A. street dog just like Winnie.
03:15I know you love vintage cars and driving them.
03:17I do.
03:18Very much.
03:19And do your dogs ever go on rides with you?
03:22They do.
03:23Trying to drive stick shift with a dog.
03:28Dogs arguing over who's getting more love can be quite tricky.
03:32But they love it.
03:34Max and I are finishing off our hike to wrap up our Dodo dream date.
03:37You want to go over here?
03:39Max, are you enjoying the date?
03:43You're more interested in the cricket than me?
03:48So, do you ever watch movies with your dogs?
03:51All the time.
03:52Actually, my little dog Babs watches whole movies with me.
03:57And speaking of movies, you just directed your first film.
04:01I did.
04:02If you can talk about that a bit.
04:03I did, yeah.
04:04It's called Pool Man.
04:05I co-wrote it and directed it.
04:08An incredible cast.
04:09It's a joyful, fun, screwball comedy caper that within it has this really lovely story about being alone
04:19and what it's like to feel it and want to connect and find love.
04:23You should definitely go to the movie theater to check it out.
04:26Pool Man comes out May 10th in theaters and then on VOD.
04:31But come on, theaters are way more fun.
04:33My Dodo dream date was incredible.
04:36Two incredibly beautiful, wonderful animals that need forever homes.
04:41Max, super family friendly, ready to go kind of dog.
04:44He's such a lover.
04:46He's such a sweetie pie.
04:47And then Jack.
04:48Jack probably is a one dog owner kind of thing unless you have a really big house
04:53and really have handled dogs of that size before.
04:56I cannot wait for them to get adopted.
04:59I'll be jealous as any, any prospective boyfriend would, but they're incredible dogs.
05:06I'm a pretty easy guy.
05:08Peanut butter jelly sandwiches and dogs.
05:12Dogs are incredible.
05:15I mean, what's better in life?
05:18Perfect.
05:19Thank you so much.
05:21Thank you so much.
