00:21Venezuela moved towards legislative elections on May 25.

00:26In the neighborhood of Cacha, in Caracas,

00:29where Chavist candidates from the Invite Socialist Pirate of Venezuela

00:34walked along its streets and listened to the demands of its inhabitants.

00:42House-to-house contact has been one of the main strategies

00:45used by candidates to be closer to the population and communities.

00:48This is very crucial for us because in other events,

00:51in other governments, this type of contact never happened.

00:54And now candidates attach more importance to be present,

00:57to be in direct contact with communities.

00:59Thus, they listen to their needs, understand them,

01:02solve the most specific problems and assist on top priority

01:05the most vulnerable population.

01:07With a great presence of government candidates

01:10in the most needed neighborhoods of the country,

01:13many of them were formed in communal councils,

01:17and now collectively were chosen to be their representative

01:21in this electoral dispute.

01:23For instance, we have here a candidate of ours,

01:28who is the legislator, Hila Melendez, from our sector.

01:32So nominees live in that sector.

01:34They know our reality.

01:35In the case of Melendez, she gives her voice

01:37during the National Assembly, which we know is not her competence,

01:40but the relationship with the ministries,

01:42with the vice ministries, with the president.

01:44In all, lawmaker Melendez makes the people's voice be heard at the top,

01:48so that they help us and accompany us in this regard.

01:51In addition, it's necessary they participate with us in our assemblies

01:54because they are part of our community.

01:56The opposition is also postulating.

01:59Despite being divided, they are making political campaigns

02:03in social networks, in the richest neighborhood of the country,

02:08in a clear demonstration of economic contrasts

02:11of the respective social basis of the government and opposition.

02:20Firstly, to build a solution to the political conflict.

02:23Secondly, an assembly that is plural, where ideas and models of development

02:27are discussed and argued.

02:29Then, negotiations, meetings, unity as a nation,

02:33in order to be able to face what is happening in the world.

02:36Thirdly, to encourage a system that respects private property,

02:40that has the best conditions of wages and the pension system.

02:45We have a style of government or a format of government that is from the community.

02:50The community is organized.

02:52The resolution of those needs is promoted from that place.

02:56And, of course, they prioritize in terms of those needs.

02:59And then, the different projects are financed.

03:02Well, as this is reaching, let's say, the bigger and smaller communities,

03:07countrysides, cities, neighborhoods,

03:09precisely our campaign has to do with being closer to the people.

03:13This is going to be the 32 elections since the triumph of the revolution in 1998.

03:19Another demonstration of the democratic political culture of Venezuelan institution,

03:24where the people are the main protagonist of the present and future of their nation.

03:30The 25th of May will decide which path Venezuela wanna take.
