00:00I feel as if Boston, because of how they operate, they are on that list.

00:08Now, I don't know how they get it done.

00:11I don't know how it'll have to, I would imagine, include Jalen Brown.

00:15And then does Milwaukee value Jalen Brown?

00:20And that becomes just one of the most fascinating things of this offseason

00:26is what is Jalen Brown's value?

00:30And I was again, you know, you ask around, right?

00:35Even again, our producer, Pat, who knows the Celtics very, very well,

00:40of who is more valuable in the trade market, Jalen Brown.

00:44The still reigning, by the way, Eastern Conference Finals MVP and Finals MVP,

00:49or Derek White.

00:51I have yet to be given the Jalen Brown answer to that.

00:57So far, due to contract and performance, Derek White seems to be the answer here.

01:07So again, that gets really tricky to me, though, right?

01:11When we think about what this offseason can be, because around the league,

01:15are teams actually going to be willing to give up more, J.Y., for Derek White than Jalen Brown?

01:20And if so, does Boston then part ways with Derek White to try and reset the deck here a little bit?

01:26Yeah, I mean, I think the reason why Derek White could have more value

01:31is because his contract is one year shorter at significantly less money.

01:36You're talking about $25 million.

01:38So if you're willing to take a chance, and Derek White has done, what a phenomenal job

01:44that what he's done with his career since leaving San Antonio and the elevation of what he has done

01:49as not just a shooter, but a guy that can create off the bounce a little bit,

01:54but also becoming one of the better defenders in the league.

01:58So, and here's the thing, it's hard for me to look, and I think Jalen Brown's fantastic.

02:04I'm going to preface by saying this, I don't think you look around the league right now

02:08and say, Jalen Brown's a top 12 player.

02:11Jalen Brown's a top 15 player.

02:13Like, you could argue, maybe he's in the 20 range.

02:18So, if he's in the 20 range, are you willing to pay someone four years

02:24at an average of $53.3 million?

02:27The answer is probably no, unless there's like a bad contract that's coming back the other way.

02:32Derek White is more intriguing, but the 28.1, it's a player option at 28.29.

02:40Obviously, we expect him probably to opt out, so now you're looking at it being for three years, right?

02:46So, I think, in my estimation, unless I am saying like, okay, I need this guy that's a media star,

02:56but I still don't think Jalen Brown does that.

02:58So, if you send him to some bad market, he'd be like, okay, face of the franchise,

03:05I just don't put Jalen Brown as that type of player to be like, that sells you tickets.

03:09It doesn't, but it comes down, like, there's a lot of things here, like,

03:13would Milwaukee value Jalen Brown, getting him back into Giannis?

03:17The question, I don't think that's really the question.

03:18It really is, do the Bucs have what it takes to retain Giannis, or are they just trying to be like,

03:25hey, we have to get something, and Brown is enough, right?

03:29That's a very difficult conversation to have, like, can we get him?

03:32Is that enough for us, plus other pieces, a pick here or there, whatever it might be.

03:36When it comes to Brown, I'm saying, would a franchise see him as like, this is our guy?

03:41Which is not the case.

03:42Because he's a best as that second option.

03:45You know, we were talking, is he a fit for the Warriors?

03:48Because if he plays a supporting role, when Steph on the backside of his career,

03:53Jimmy, if they're all doing just enough, that is a balanced team.

03:56No one player has to do everything.

03:58Could he go to a younger team where he's saying, okay, we took a first step this year,

04:01maybe like a Houston, and he provides a little bit of assistance, kind of like,

04:05you know, Tobias Harris, I was very low on him coming into the year.

04:07Tobias Harris had a great year with Detroit, right?

04:09Allow the young talent to play his role.

04:11If we can have Jalen Brown play a similar role where he doesn't have to be the main option,

04:15he's not the face of the franchise, and he's that wave of reinforcement.

04:19I think, though, for Boston has to hope that basically the idea around Jalen Brown

04:24is if you acquire him and you give him an uptick in usage, it becomes much better.

04:32So in game number five, he had 26, 8, and 12, right?

04:35In game four, he had 20.6 pounds, six assists.

04:39I think the idea has to be, again, for the acquiring team.

04:42The idea for Boston to be willing to part ways with Jalen Brown is that a team believes

04:46that if they actually give him the keys to the car, he is an all-star starter year in

04:51and year out and making all NBA teams.

04:54And I think that that becomes a really, really interesting aspect of, again, this Boston offseason.
