Meet Chennai couple feeding, caring for varieties of birds for the past 16 years at their terrace

Chennai, May 16, 2025 (ANI): Amid busy life, Chennai’s couple named Sudarson and Vithiya have been feeding parrots, pigeons, doves, and house sparrows. They have been feeding these birds on their residence's terrace for the past 16 years, making it a great spot for visitors. Sudarson also known as “Parrot Sudarson” with his wife started feeding birds to heal from personal pain. Groundnuts, soaked rice, wheat, seasoned fruits are the foods which is being provided to the birds. Usually, 15,000 birds visit their terrace during winter season while hundreds of birds visit during summer. Celebrities, top professionals, visitors from foreign countries visit their residence to relieve their streets and to listen birds chirping. Besides birds, cats and monkeys are being taken care by the couple. “After the recent Tamil film Meiyazhagan starring Arvind Swamy, where a few scenes were shot here, this place has become famous. Now more visitors are coming here and we are also allowing them to enjoy the birds view... Summers observe 1000 to 2000 parrots, but winters observe around 15,000 birds here... I am known by the name of Parrot Sudarson...,” said Sudarson.
