00:00This spring at Resolute Farm, welcome to the first foal out of Dual Champion at Goodnight Olive.
00:07The Colt by Not This Time arrived on February 10th and already seems to have won over the team at Resolute Farm.
00:13Farm manager Noel Murphy introduces us to the new arrival.
00:17Well, the farm nickname is Ollie and Ollie likes it big time all the time.
00:24So whether it's coming in from the paddock or going out to the paddock, he's wanting to engage.
00:29Whether that's bite or jump on you or be petted or whatever it is.
00:33He just enjoys everything he does.
00:37Absolutely spectacular individual for a mate. He was 150 pounds and that's a confirmed on a weighing scale 150 pounds.
00:4420 days old, he was 228 pounds.
00:48So he's gaining then close to 4 pounds a day.
00:52Again, for a maiden mare to be able to do that.
00:55And she looks great herself. She's kept her weight.
00:58Again, as ever with Olive, she overachieves on everything she does.
01:01And this was another example of overachieving.
01:04We have 14 folds on the ground and he's still the biggest newborn.
01:08And he just loves human interaction.
01:10He thinks humans are big chewy ties sometimes and wants to play with you.
01:15Which is fine now, but as he gets bigger, might be a little more serious for the human involved.
01:22But no, he has absolute class personality and just fun to be around.
01:28If he was a human, he'd be just a super happy person all the time.
01:32He's a gift to us.
01:34We just love the fact that John put that amount of trust in buying this mare and she has rewarded him with this calibre of a first time fall.
01:44I've been doing this in Kentucky 27 years.
01:47You're not going to get a better first time maiden fall than him.
01:52A lot of times them great race mares struggle with the transition.
01:56Everything she does, she seems to just get it right.
01:59We're looking forward to breeding her back.
02:01Looking like she's going to be bred this year to seize the grey.
02:04And John is very excited about that.
02:07There's something about her story that just appeals to me.
02:10The fact that she was not the chosen one at the start and took her time to get there.
02:16But on the biggest days and the biggest questions, that's when she showed up.
02:19And I just love that about her.
02:21I can't express how proud I am of all she's done since she's came here.
02:25She's been the centre of attention and she's never ever disappointed in whatever we've asked her to do.
02:30Whether it's greeting the public, taking pictures, just being a representative of the farm in the field,
02:37to getting pregnant, carrying the pregnancy and then falling down the 150 pound maiden first time fall.
02:43So she's just got to love her.
