00:08Now we can let him rest and start just living his memory the best way we can.
00:14He will always be in our memories. The Blue family is hurting. We are hurting today and we've been hurting since this happened.
00:21But today is a small piece of justice that will live in our hearts also.
00:26After less than three hours of deliberations the jury found Regan Chown guilty of the manslaughter of Constable Woods.
00:33In June 2023 Chown led officers on a chase through Perth, travelling double the speed limit in some areas before stopping at a cul-de-sac in Ascot.
00:42Constable Woods attempted to apprehend him. After tasering him the officer was dragged under the car as Chown reversed.
00:49To listen to it and see all the footage was probably one of the hardest things I've had to see.
00:55The jury rejected Chown's claim that he lost control of his arms and legs and the vehicle after being hit with the taser.
01:05He's a hero and he did his job. He never got to go home from his ship that night.
01:10Anthony Woods' parents thanked the policing community for their support and hope their son's legacy continues.
01:16He was a happy, lucky, go lucky kid and lots of humour and he was always a sporty kind of guy and he just loved life.
01:28He will be remembered by everybody because he was just that kind of character.
01:35There were gasps and tears in the public gallery when the verdict was read out but Chown didn't react at all.
01:40He will face a sentencing hearing in July.
