00:00President of the United States, Donald Trump, there sitting down, ready to sign this economic
00:05partnership agreement that has been the centrepiece of this visit to Saudi Arabia.
00:11Yes, so this is the beginning of a four-day trip around the region. There he is, Donald
00:15Trump, signing that piece of paper there. He's going to be heading to Qatar after this. He's
00:21going to be heading to the UAE. Lots of economic issues on the table. Security, too. Potential
00:27for a $100 billion arms deal of sorts, which could see them selling offensive weapons to
00:34Saudi Arabia. It's worth noting who has accompanied Donald Trump on this trip. Elon Musk is there
00:40and has been in that room earlier on today. The CEO of OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT,
00:47Sam Altman, has also been pictured there talking with President Trump and Mohammed bin Salman,
00:53the crown prince of Saudi Arabia as well. And we know that AI is such a growth opportunity,
00:58particularly the United States wants to be able to have – but it's also so energy-hungry,
01:03so power-hungry. And so if this sort of powerhouse of energy, Saudi Arabia, is linking up with
01:08Donald Trump and this sort of deal, could be all about American AI dominance.
01:13And they also may well be talking in the next few days about Israeli hostages, how to end the
01:21ongoing conflict and tensions in the Middle East between Israel and Gaza. And they'll be looking
01:30to solidify those economic links, too. Hugely powerful country, Saudi Arabia, a huge influence
01:37across the Muslim world.
01:38And, of course, one of the largest armies in the world as well. The amount that is spent
01:43on the Saudi army is astronomical. And, of course, it all relates to the free passage
01:50of shipping around the world as well. We know that America has been whacking mahoutis down
01:55in Yemen. That, of course, is in the interests of the Saudis as well.
