00:08which resulted in the death of nine personnel, has six prior criminal cases against him.
00:14According to Perak Police Chief Datuk Commissioner Noor Hisam Nordin,
00:18said the suspect has over 20 years of lorry driving experience.
00:30Commissioner Noor Hisam, however, said the lorry driver has six prior criminal cases against him,
00:36mostly related to narcotics, as well as multiple outstanding traffic summonses.
00:42He said the FRU vehicle was part of a seven-vehicle convoy,
00:45which included one bus, four heavy trucks and two Land Rovers.
00:50The truck involved in the collision was the fifth vehicle in the convoy
00:53and was carrying equipment, which contributed to the severity of the impact.
00:57The accident has resulted in the deaths of nine members of Unit 5 of the FRU from Sungai Sanam.
01:05Eight died at the scene and one at the hospital.
01:09Commissioner Noor Hisam said the injured personnel are still receiving emergency treatment
01:13and they are awaiting the post-mortem process at the hospital.
01:16The convoy was on its way back to their base in Sungai Sanam in Ipoh
01:42after completing their security assistance assignment
01:45in conjunction with the Chitra Purnami Festival in Teluk Intan.
