00:00The Indian Navy operates as a composite network force capable of simultaneously addressing

00:08threats emanating from all domains, that is air, surface and subsurface through amalgamation of

00:17advanced sensors synchronized on the combat management systems. In effect, the maritime

00:25force is able to ensure persistent surveillance, detection and identification for a comprehensive

00:32maritime domain awareness, including the airspace. Effectively using multiple sensors and inputs,

00:41we are maintaining continuous surveillance to degrade or neutralize threats as they emerge

00:49or manifest to ensure targeting at extended ranges. All these are conducted under the

00:58umbrella of a comprehensive and effective layered fleet air defense mechanism that caters for

01:06all threats, be it drones or high-speed missiles or aircraft, both fighters as well as surveillance

01:15aircraft. The fleet operates as a composite force maintaining a surveillance bubble at extended

01:24ranges using advanced radar. Any aerial target that attempts to penetrate this bubble is detected

01:33and identified using various techniques and technologies affording quick and clear distinction between

01:43commercial, neutral and hostile aircraft or flying objects at ranges in excess of the anticipated attack

01:52range. The carrier battle group with its integral air wing provides the first layer of this layered mechanism.

02:01Adequately equipped and trained to high degree of proficiency, our pilots are able to operate both by day and night.

02:12In the current standoff, the presence of an aircraft carrier with large number of MiG-29K fighters and

02:21airborne early warning helicopters prevented any suspicious or hostile aircraft to close the carrier battle group within

02:30several hundred kilometers.

03:08A powerful carrier battle group with formidable offensive capability, was able to operate with

03:17offensive capability, was able to operate with impunity and maintained an uncontested presence in the area of operations.

03:25Effectively, it compelled the Pakistani air elements to remain bottled up close to the Makran coast, denying any opportunity to be a threat in maritime maritime air.
