00:01This morning on TBS, we're going to show you what happened when Tim Horner challenged Double A, the enforcer Arne Anderson, for the world's TV title.
00:09And then we're going to go all the way over to Tokyo when WCW packed in 65,000 people into the Tokyo Dome.
00:16The signers become the world's most honored tag team all this morning on the Power Hour.
01:00In the ring there, folks from Hollywood, Florida, Dave Johnson, and from New York City, Sue Caviano.
01:10Very fine. Good morning to you, everyone. Jim Ross and Paulie Danesley here for the Power Hour.
01:16Randy Anderson, the referee of this tag team event.
01:20Certainly have an outstanding broadcast here this morning.
01:23And you heard from Paul just moments ago, we really are looking forward to showing you how the Steiner Brothers became the most honored tag team in WCW wrestling history from the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan.
01:41Yeah, but you see, I already know the outcome of that match.
01:43What I'm looking forward to is Double A, the enforcer Arne Anderson, defending the world's television title against Tim Horner.
01:54Young Pistols gearing up for their challenge for the United States Tag Team Championship against the Freebirds.
02:00Great double team move.
02:02One of their fortes is their up-tempo double team offense.
02:07And they are very, very expert in that particular strategy.
02:11Well, they're going to have to be expert at that kind of strategy because the fabulous Freebirds are also master of the double team.
02:17And at Super for All 91, Super Sunday, May 19th, if the Young Pistols want to become the next United States Tag Team Champions,
02:24they're going to have to utilize that kind of teamwork to defeat the Freebirds.
02:29Nice chain-resting move into a hammerlock by Steve, tags in Tracy.
02:36Again, another illustration of their double-team offense.
02:40Referee has a count of five.
02:42If they are not out of the ring after the tag is made by five, they'll be disqualified.
02:46But like so many teams, they utilize that early part of the count to their advantage.
02:52Yeah, but then again, so do the fabulous Freebirds, which is why at Super Brawl, that's going to be such a classic matchup
03:01because the Freebirds and the Pistols have had their problems in the past, but never with this much on the line.
03:11Tracy dropping the knee into the bicep of Dave Johnson.
03:15Of course, we want to remind you, fans, that Super Brawl will be on Super Sunday, May 19th.
03:24It's available only on pay-per-view, and we encourage you to make plans now to see it by calling your local cable company.
03:31Tracy taking Johnson out of the corner with a hip lock.
03:35See, what I'm interested in seeing is this Monday at Center Stage or this Tuesday in Gainesville, Georgia.
03:41Of course, Center Stage being in Atlanta, Georgia, are two of the final national TV tapings before Super Brawl,
03:48and I want to see what the Pistols have in store for the Freebirds and what the Freebirds have in store for the Pistols.
03:54Lou Fabiano on the outside, tripping Tracy, giving Johnson the opportunity to mount some offense.
04:00Let's see if they can take advantage here.
04:03And Tracy takes both his opponents' strike down and tags in Steve.
04:07Outstanding crowd here again this morning on TBS watching the Power Hour.
04:12Drop kick by Steve on both men.
04:19Lou Fabiano taken outside by the drop kick.
04:22Which leaves Steve Johnson all alone at the hands of the Young Pistols.
04:27The Freebirds have their DDT, and the Young Pistols have their offense off the top.
04:32Steve on the top.
04:36And the drop kick from the top rope.
04:41Perfectly executed and another victory.
04:43And welcome back to Young Pistols!
04:46Still to come to broadcast more on a great wrestling weekend here on TBS tonight and tomorrow night.
04:55Well, they are flat out determined to become the next United States Tag Team Champions.
05:00They get that chance.
05:02Super Sunday, May 19th, against the Fabulous Freebirds.
05:06Super Brawl 91 exclusively on pay-per-view this Monday.
05:10Center stage in Atlanta.
05:12This Tuesday, Gainesville, Georgia at the Georgia Mountain Center.
05:15It's the final TV taping for the Fabulous Freebirds and the Young Pistols.
05:20Who's going to be the next U.S. Tag Team Champions?
05:23Again, ladies and gentlemen, thanks very much for being with us here this morning on TBS.
05:27Jim Ross and Paul E. Dangerously back with you.
05:29And as we just saw, that recent event involving the Young Pistols,
05:33we know that on May the 19th, Super Brawl Sunday,
05:38the Young Pistols will meet the Fabulous Freebirds.
05:41Their prize will be, if they win, the United States Tag Team Championship.
05:46Paul, I think that's going to be a very fast-paced offensive match.
05:48Oh, it's going to be one of the great brawls at Super Brawl.
05:51And I'm not taking anything away from Steve and Tracy.
05:53They are, without question, the number one contenders for the U.S. Tag Team title.
05:58They are, without question, the team to become the next U.S. Tag Team Champions.
06:02The team, except for one team, and that's Michael PSA's and Jimmy Jam Garvin,
06:07the Fabulous Freebirds.
06:07They are your next United States Tag Team Champions.
06:10Well, they've got the DDT, plus they've got a lot of distractions,
06:13in my estimation, outside the ring.
06:15And I'm not talking about those Diamond Dolls.
06:17Oh, man, they're hot.
06:18Diamond Dallas Page and Big Daddy Dink and more.
06:20We'll talk more about it when we come back on PBS.
06:35Ladies and gentlemen, the following six-man tag team event is set for one ball.
06:38All right, everyone.
07:07Welcome back to PBS.
07:09Jim Ross and Pauly Daniels will be back with you.
07:10While we have a moment, we want to remind you that I hope you'll call the wrestling hotline.
07:15Not only will you hear the Ross report here today, but right after WCW tonight,
07:20here on PBS, Executive Vice President Jim Hurd will be speaking with many of the leading wrestling journalists
07:27in a discussion of sorts, and they'll be taking your calls as well.
07:35So it should be a most entertaining and informative wrestling hotline tonight with Jim Hurd.
07:41That starts at 8.05 Eastern tonight.
07:45And, of course, until then, I hope you'll call in and listen to the Ross report.
07:49I'll also have a Ross report right after the roundtable discussion with Mr. Hurd
07:55and the wrestling journalists.
07:58Ricky Martin, perhaps one of the most skilled tag team wrestlers ever in WCW,
08:04and he and his partner, Tommy Rich and the Junkyard Dog, comprise the WCW six-man tag team champion.
08:16Tommy Rich, former World Heavyweight Champion, who will meet Nikita Koloff at Super Brawl on May 19th,
08:23a big pay-per-view event.
08:24And that was real close right there.
08:30You see Tommy Rich's position within this team is he utilizes wrestling science.
08:35Ricky Martin comes in with all the speed, and there's the big power man, the Junkyard Dog.
08:41JYD with a close line down on all four, and there's his JYD dog headbutt there.
08:49And the tag is made.
08:52There's Don Allen.
08:54Back heel trip by Junkyard Dog.
08:56Drops a headbutt right on the pectoral region of Allen.
09:00Where?
09:01Tonight on WCW, one of our most outstanding broadcasts.
09:07It's going to be a great main event tonight.
09:09Brian Bryan will take on Barry Windham.
09:12Just one of so many great matchups.
09:14That match especially has me very intrigued.
09:17It's tonight on WCW, great clothesline by Rich.
09:20And tomorrow night, two big hours, a special two-hour broadcast tomorrow night here on TBS for the main event.
09:27And it's a big main event on the main event tomorrow night because Fly and Brian teams with not only El Igante,
09:34but also the singer himself and their opponent, Double A Arn Anderson, BW Barry Windham,
09:40and the heavyweight champion of the world, nature boy Rick Flair.
09:44Here comes the Junkyard Dog, who tomorrow night on that big two-hour broadcast will meet the one-man gang.
09:50And that should be a tremendous confrontation there.
09:53Well, after the gang try to get his hands on the Junkyard Dog both in my live danger zone and on the danger zone on the main event a couple of weeks ago,
10:01would you like to make a prediction on that, Matt?
10:03Well, that's the only prediction I'll make is going to be a very power match.
10:09It's not going to be scientific, I don't think, between JYD and the one-man gang.
10:14Tag made.
10:14Tommy Rich with the exchange.
10:17Great right hand by Rich.
10:20And tag is made to Joe Kazana.
10:23Making his first appearance in this six-man event.
10:25Again, quick tag by Rich to Ricky Morton.
10:30Side headlock by Morton.
10:31Fans, don't forget, Monday night, outstanding national television taping at center stage.
10:37Trust body press and Rick Rogers.
10:40The timing was off there because Rogers hit his own partner.
10:43And now we have all six men inside the ring at the same time.
10:49Headbutt by JYD.
10:50Has Kazana up.
10:51It's some time.
10:55One, two, three, and the tip is heavy.
10:58And the tip is heavy.
10:58And the tip is heavy.
10:58And the tip is heavy.
11:00Welcome to Ricky Morton.
11:03Fans, those national TV tapings Monday at center stage, Tuesday in Gainesville, Georgia,
11:07and Wednesday in Greenville, South Carolina all start at 7 o'clock.
11:11The power of the junkyard dog, the speed of Ricky Morton,
11:15and the wrestling science of wildfire Tommy Rich.
11:18The world's six-man tag team champions.
11:20All of them headed to Super Brawl 1991, Super Sunday, May 19th.
11:26Monday to center stage in Atlanta.
11:28Tuesday to the Georgia Mountain Center in Gainesville, Georgia.
11:31Wednesday to the national TV taping in Greenville, South Carolina.
11:35I find it kind of interesting the fact that Ricky Morton will be taking on Dangerous Dan Spivey
11:52on Super Brawl Sunday exclusively on pay-per-view.
11:54That event, of course, Super Brawl 91 Sunday, May 19th,
11:58because Ricky is known to be a tag team specialist.
12:00Yeah, and here he's trying to make a reputation as a singles wrestler,
12:03maybe to go after the world TV title when beautiful Bobby and Double AR and Anderson decided,
12:07but why would he step in a ring against a guy 6'8", 312 pounds?
12:11He's really outsized.
12:12We'll have a great challenge ahead of him, and we'll have more ahead of us right after this.
12:15World Championship Wrestling Rolling Thunder Tour 91 rolls across America.
12:35This Sunday, the 5th of May, it'll roll into the capital city of Raleigh, North Carolina.
12:38Be at the Dorton Arena to check out Stan Anderson, Perry Windham, and Mr. Hughes.
12:43Saturday, the 4th, be at the Civic Center in the capital city of Charleston, West Virginia,
12:47to see Z-Bang, Ryan Simmons, and beautiful Bobby.
12:50This Friday, Rolling Thunder rolls into the scope.
12:53It's so, folks, be there so you can see the key to call off Blackheart and Dangerous Dan.
12:57This Wednesday, the Memorial Monitorium in Greenville, South Carolina,
13:01will be the place to be to check out Rick Flair, Larry DeViscoe, and Sid Bishop.
13:04This Tuesday, be at the Georgia Mountain Center in Gainesville, Georgia,
13:07to watch D. Elegante and Flying Brian.
13:11And tomorrow, Rolling Thunder rolls into Chicago, Illinois.
13:16Be at CYC for Vegas to check out Woodbridge, Derrick Taylor, and Teddy Long.
13:19And tonight, in Jackalina, Georgia, be at the Convention Center to watch Junkyard Dog,
13:23Tommy Rich, and Rick Morton.
13:28Thanks for staying with us here, everyone, on TBS.
13:30And, Paul Lee, I want to tell you something.
13:32Tonight on WCW, we've got the privilege of being at ringside
13:35to see Barry Windham wrestle Flying Brian.
13:38We're going to see Barry Windham in a recent match in just a few moments.
13:41But tonight, what a matchup it's going to be.
13:42See, I'm not going to tell any jokes about this,
13:44because this is a deadly serious situation.
13:46Both Flying Brian and Barry Windham are putting their careers on the line tonight,
13:49because Flying Brian has sworn to eliminate Windham,
13:52and Windham wants Flying Brian out of the way.
13:54This is going to be a war.
13:55Let's go to the ring and see Barry Windham in action.
13:57He's not in a very good mood, is he?
14:14Well, it doesn't appear to be.
14:15I'm sure Windham has his mind on tonight's big WCW event.
14:23Starts at 5.05 Central, 6.05 Eastern.
14:27Two-hour broadcast tonight.
14:29McVen Bader on the broadcast.
14:30Ellie Gonte, the signers.
14:32Ding and Lex Luger in tag team competition.
14:35It's going to be a great broadcast as Windham locks up and arm drags.
14:39Scott Allen here on the Power Hour.
14:43Windham has signed a contract for Super Brawl 91
14:46to face Flying Brian in a tape fist match.
14:49Now, everybody knows Flying Brian loves to utilize those chops
14:52that he learned from nature boy Ric Flair.
14:54Can you imagine the brutality of those chops when his hands are all taped,
14:58and he won't hurt his own hands by throwing those chops?
15:01It's going to be one of the most physically intense competitions on Super Brawl Sunday,
15:05the pay-per-view exclusive.
15:06But Windham with a moment to go with a perfectly executed gut-wrench suplex.
15:12And I think that Windham, who's 6'6", about 275, 280, there's a DDT,
15:17his own unique version of that maneuver.
15:19I don't think anybody in WCW in the last couple of months
15:23has looked any more dominant than Barry Windham.
15:26Oh, definitely.
15:27And tonight he has sworn to eliminate Flying Brian.
15:30They might have to find a new opponent for Windham for Super Brawl
15:33because I think he's going to eliminate Flying Brian tonight.
15:37Windham, attempting to make short work of his opponent here.
15:41Front face lock.
15:42And the superplex, the big guy, floats over on top,
15:45and he has won it convincingly.
15:52Here's your winner, Barry Windham!
15:54See, in the past few years, there have been three or four people
15:57who have mastered the superplex, but none like Barry Windham
16:00because he has perfected it.
16:02Not only does he apply the superplex better
16:04and with better leverage than anybody else
16:07in the history of world championship wrestling,
16:09but then he rolls right over and has his opponent in
16:12as he hits the mat.
16:14One, two, three.
16:16Barry Windham tonight, 6.05 against Flying Brian.
16:19Jim Hurd, the wrestling writer, tonight on the hotline.
16:21Here's more about the wrestling hotline.
16:25Introducing the new wrestling hotline.

16:50before calling.
16:501-900-909-9900.
16:53Stylus.
16:57Wrestling fans are following the podcast.
16:59It is set for one bar.
17:01Introducing press from Chicago, Illinois.
17:04283 pounds.
17:06He's the total happiest.
17:10Lex Luger.
17:13Lex Luger, a man that has a great deal on his mind these days.
17:16Not only does he have to get him a tag team mindset as he and Sting prepare to take on
17:23the signers at Super Brawl, but the awesome United States heavyweight champion must also
17:28fend off the challenge of Nikita Kola.
17:31Yeah, well, he has a lot on his mind, and tonight on the danger zone, which I taped inside Luger's dressing room
17:40at the Meadowlands when he lost, in my opinion, the U.S. heavyweight championship to Nikita Kola.
17:46You can see just how determined this guy is to have the gold around his waist again.
17:52And to look at the other side of that issue, Missy Hyatt tonight will be speaking with Nikita Kola.
17:59Why can't she ever agree with me?
18:02I don't know, Paul.
18:04I don't know why you guys can't get along better.
18:06I try to get, I say, look, this guy is blue.
18:08Oh, no, it's green.
18:10I mean, come on.
18:11She's ridiculous.
18:12Shoulder block, followed by the side headlock by Lex Luger.
18:16Luger's 6'5", about 285 right now.
18:19Oh, he's put on some size.
18:20And he is really in perhaps his greatest physical shape that he's ever been in,
18:26and not only because Nikita Kola is an outstanding, awesome power wrestler.
18:32I don't think that's going to affect Luger at all, that kick by Pat Rose.
18:35But we know that the Steiners, greatest tag team in the world,
18:39we'll show you how they won yet another championship later in this broadcast in the Tokyo Dome.
18:45But with Sting and Luger together, the first time that they will ever wrestle,
18:49the Steiner brothers will be on Super Brawl Sunday on pay-per-view.
18:53And it will be a high-impact match.
18:55It will be a tremendous power confrontation.
18:59And the Steiners must avoid this particular maneuver.
19:02The winner of the match, a total pick is Rick Luger.
19:08Whether it's Nikita Kola or with Sting against the Steiners,
19:12this man is in the greatest shape of his life,
19:16and he will talk to Paul E. tonight on WCW.
19:18Super Sunday, May 19th, exclusively on pay-per-view, Super Brawl 91.
19:24Lex Luger and Sting go for the world tag team title
19:27against Rick and Scott, the Steiner brothers.
19:29Rick Steiner has never submitted in his life.
19:32Scott Steiner has never submitted in his life.
19:35But nobody has ever been up in the human torture rack and not given up.
19:38What would happen?
19:40Should Lex Luger get Rick or Scott Steiner in the human torture rack?
19:44Fans, don't forget tonight on WCW,
19:46Flyin' Brian taking on Barry Windham.
19:49And when we come back, Gordon Sully will focus on Flyin' Brian Tillman.
19:52This week on the Wrestling News Network,
20:10a portrait in Courage.
20:12If you remember correctly, during the War Games match in Wrestle War 91 in Phoenix, Arizona,
20:17Brian Tillman suffered an injury to his axis vertebrae.
20:21He was bound and determined then that he was going to get even
20:23with those men who perpetrated the injury.
20:26Arne Anderson, Barry Windham, Ric Flair, and Sid Vicious.
20:29Well, he signed an open contract.
20:31And just two weeks ago, here on Championship Wrestling,
20:35he faced Ric Flair.
20:36And here's what happened.
20:38Oh!
20:40Coming up with a drop kick.
20:43And he inadvertently drop kicked referee Randy Anderson.
20:46Flair had it well scouted, dropped down.
20:48Now, Flair with a knee in the back.
20:52Tillman thrown over the top, but he holds on.
20:56Flair doesn't see.
20:57Flair thinks he's on the floor.
20:59Flyin' Brian now up on top.
21:03And Tillman from the top.
21:05One, two, three, four, five.
21:09He's got his pants.
21:11There comes Arne Anderson.
21:13Tillman meets him to the right.
21:15Yeah, but it's back to the nature boy!
21:19Flair!
21:20Oh, he clipped that knee.
21:22Cut him from behind.
21:24Referee is still down.
21:26Flair going into the figure four.
21:29And he has it hooked on!
21:32And double-A's giving a man in leg for it!
21:34They're going to break this kid's leg right here!
21:36Well, after that grueling endeavor and a lot of controversy surrounding it,
21:40the very next day, less than 24 hours later,
21:43Brian Tillman then had to face Arne Anderson.
21:47And as we're going to see in just a moment,
21:49Arne Anderson would not be there without friends.
21:52But, you know, when you take a look at Brian Tillman
21:53and you realize he was on the suicide squad for the Bengals,
21:56you know that there's a lot of heart and fight in this man.
22:01Let's go back now in time to just 24 hours after and see this one.
22:04Again, Tillman on top!
22:10Wyndham.
22:11There's a DDT.
22:12Now, that's Anderson's move.
22:14Eight, seven, six.
22:17You can hear the time.
22:18Oh, he didn't go for the cover.
22:20He just wants to fight.
22:22It's a time limit draw.
22:24Wyndham in.
22:26It's a time limit draw, but Barry Wyndham in there.
22:32Hammering away.
22:33And, oh, goodness, a DDT this time by Wyndham.
22:42Tillman.
22:43They're trying to destroy this kid.
22:46They got him up.
22:48Oh, stop pile driving.
22:54Tillman needs help.
22:55And here it comes.
22:59The biggest man in sport.
23:01El Gigante.
23:02Coming to help his pal.
23:04Well, after what happened then, when Barry Wyndham suddenly entered the fray,
23:08Brian Tillman realized that he could not be in the ring with anybody without an ally.
23:12He prevailed upon El Gigante, the seven-foot, seven-inch giant from Argentina,
23:17and to be his tag team partner as they took on Arne Anderson and Barry Wyndham.
23:24And Pillman knows now that wherever he faces one of these men, he's going to face more than one,
23:30maybe two, maybe three.
23:31Let's take a look at this one.
23:33And there's the tag.
23:34The big man.
23:36The real giant.
23:37The WCW.
23:38Or anywhere else.
23:40Steps right over the top rope.
23:42Sends Wyndham for the ride.
23:43And there's a clothesline like no other.
23:48El Gigante.
23:50Making another quick tag to Flying Brian.
23:53Flying Brian up and over.
23:56Down goes Wyndham.
23:58And El Gigante.
23:59Steps over the top.
24:00Wait a minute.
24:01Here's Rick Flair.
24:02Flair just pushed Pillman off the top rope.
24:04Rick Flair just pushed Flying Brian off the top rope.
24:10El Gigante's talking Wyndham.
24:11The Pillman's going to be counted down.
24:14Ladies and gentlemen, the winners of the match,
24:17the team of Arne Anderson and Barry Wyndham.
24:22Flair wants his men to get out of the ring before El Gigante takes them apart.
24:29Oh, what an injustice here.
24:32As a result of that confrontation tomorrow night,
24:35there will be a special two-hour broadcast of World Championship Wrestling,
24:38and there will be a six-man tag team match.
24:41Sting, El Gigante, and Flying Brian
24:43take on the team of Rick Flair, Arne Anderson, and Barry Wyndham.
24:48And if you'd like to order the wrestling wrap-up, here's how.
24:52The talking is done.
24:54The time to act is now.

25:21A lot of discussion in recent weeks surrounding the World Television Championship,
25:37currently held by Arne Anderson.
25:38In just a few moments, we'll go to the ring and see a recent match he had with Tim Horner,
25:42but we do know that at Super Brawl on Super Sunday, May 19th,
25:46it'll be Double-A against Beautiful Bobby.
25:48Arne Anderson, the world's greatest wrestling tactician,
25:51taking Beautiful Bobby down to the mat.
25:53Now, if he can ground Beautiful Bobby, he's going to keep the title,
25:56but if Bobby can come off the top rope,
25:57we're going to see a new World TV champion at Super Brawl.
26:00Let's see the underrated Tim Horner now, Challenge Double-A.
26:06Ladies and gentlemen, the following process is set for one fall,
26:10the 10-minute time limit.
26:11It is for the WCW World Television Championship.
26:15It's a new six bucks from Minnesota, 250 pounds.
26:18He's the champion, Arne Anderson.
26:24In the ring, here's the point.
26:26Weighs him at 230 pounds.
26:27From Orange, Tennessee, White Lightning.
26:29And Tim Horner.
26:34Tim Horner, who, as I mentioned,
26:37I think is one of the most underrated athletes in WCW.
26:40He's quick.
26:41He has great fundamental skills.
26:43But when he talks about fundamentals and technical skills,
26:47the television champion of the world, Arne Anderson,
26:50has to be put right at the top of the list.
26:53Now, barring any upsets between now and May 19th,
26:56he has signed to defend this television championship,
26:58as you fans know, against beautiful Bobby Eaton.
27:02And quite frankly, when you look at matches like Rip Flair and Tatsumi Fujinami,
27:07Sting and Luger versus the Steiners,
27:08all the great matchups,
27:09Elegante against Sid Vicious,
27:12to be quite frank with you,
27:13I feel like that my own personal belief is that that man and beautiful Bobby
27:17perhaps will have the very best wrestling match of the entire Super Bowl on the pay-per-view May 19th.
27:24Oh, that could very well be because everybody knows just how deadly Double A Arne Anderson can be.
27:30He's recovered from all his recent injuries,
27:32and beautiful Bobby, so determined to become a champion in 1991.
27:37Not a tag team champion, a singles champion,
27:40and that man, Double A Arne Anderson,
27:42is the only thing standing in beautiful Bobby's way to the world TV title.
27:47Collin' elbow tie, you have Tim Horner,
27:49who would like to upset the situation leading into Super Brawl.
27:54Anderson with a knee to the midsection,
27:57follows up that heavy right, excuse me, left hand.
28:01Horner, very resourceful move right there.
28:08Quickness is an asset of White Lightning, Tim Horner.
28:13Well, you see, that's why Double A signed for this match.
28:16Whoa!
28:17Coming drop, and Horner rolls it up in the cradle.
28:20He may have him, he got two.
28:22And Anderson, a little frustrated here,
28:25because Horner has come out to wrestle a quick, fast-paced match.
28:29You see, and that's why Double A signed for this match,
28:32because Bobby Eaton is one of the lightning-quickest wrestlers
28:35I've ever seen in my life.
28:38Now, Double A doesn't want to go into this match with beautiful Bobby
28:40and not be prepared.
28:41Tim Horner also, lightning quick.
28:44Double A needs to train for this match with beautiful Bobby,
28:47and this is the perfect way to do it.
28:48Fans, don't forget tonight,
28:50we look forward to seeing you at center stage this Monday night,
28:537 o'clock to starting time,
28:55as is the start time for the Georgia Mountain Center event
28:58in Gainesville, Georgia, Tuesday.
28:59And then we'll all be in Greenville, South Carolina
29:02for an outstanding event.
29:04Over 30 stars are there.
29:05As Anderson went to the top,
29:07and Horner raked the eyes.
29:09He was going to attempt to slam Anderson off the top,
29:12and Anderson retaliates with a sleeper.
29:14Didn't get it locked in,
29:16but Horner counters with a sleeper of his own.
29:19And Double A's in trouble here,
29:22but not for long.
29:23Horner held on,
29:24and Anderson with a bell-in-the-back suplex
29:28thought he would counter the maneuver
29:29beside headlock specifically,
29:32but Horner held on.
29:33Tremendous tenacity on Tim Horner.
29:35Check it out.
29:36He is still hurting from that suplex,
29:38but he's holding on,
29:39and he's holding on for dear life
29:41because this is the opportunity of a lifetime,
29:43the World TV Championship.
29:46A left hand dangerously low there
29:50near the belt line.
29:52Said he got in with a forearm.
29:55Well, that was a little like George Foreman
29:57in the ninth round against Evander Holyfield.
29:59That was a little bit low,
30:01but he got away with it,
30:02and no points were deducted
30:03from the World Television Champion.
30:06Arne Anderson,
30:06a major factor in our two-hour special event
30:09tomorrow night here on TBS.
30:12The main event,
30:13two big hours,
30:14as Double-A,
30:16Barry Windham,
30:17and Rick Flair
30:18will take on
30:19Fly-In Brian Elegante
30:21and Bust Dinger.
30:22One of the big events,
30:23the six-man tag event,
30:24and the American Dream,
30:26Dusty Rhodes,
30:27will go face-to-face
30:28with nature boy Rick Flair.
30:31Unlike in the past,
30:32it will not be inside the squared circle,
30:35but it will be in a very,
30:36I'm sure,
30:37pointed interview tomorrow night.
30:40Well, Dusty Rhodes,
30:41it better be careful
30:41what he says to the nature boy,
30:43because I had a simple question
30:44for Rick Flair
30:45a couple weeks ago on TV,
30:47and he jumped right down my throat,
30:49and I still have no idea why,
30:50so there's something on Flair's mind.
30:52Great move there by Tim Horner.
30:56One, two,
30:57and Anderson kicked out.
31:01Anderson's in big trouble here.
31:05Elbow by Tim Horner,
31:06and down goes Anderson.
31:08Tim Horner has wrestled
31:10a very smart match.
31:12There's a lateral press.
31:14Couldn't get all the grapevine of the leg.
31:17Didn't neutralize the lower torso
31:19of Arn Anderson.
31:21Well, Horner's not making any mistakes,
31:23because one mistake at all
31:24it takes with double-A,
31:25Arn Anderson.
31:26Horner ramming Anderson's head
31:28into the turnbuckle.
31:32Tim Horner,
31:32perhaps feeling that
31:34this is his opportunity
31:36to score a major upset.
31:39High-risk move here on the top.
31:42Got him!
31:42Oh, Anderson caught him coming off.
31:45Face locks him
31:45into the spine buster.
31:48He was the winner,
31:49and still,
31:50World Series and champion,
31:52Arn Anderson!
31:55Still to come,
31:55the Steiners
31:56from the Tokyo Dome,
31:58as they became
31:59wrestling's most honored tag team.
32:02We'll show you that matchup
32:03still to come here
32:04this morning on TVS.
32:06But what a hard-fought victory
32:07for double-A.
32:08From the defense
32:09into the offense,
32:11that's why he is
32:12the world's television champion,
32:14the best wrestler
32:15on television today.
32:17Super Sunday,
32:17May 19th,
32:19double-A defends his laurels,
32:20puts up all the gold
32:22against beautiful Bobby Eaton.
32:24If Bobby comes off the top rope,
32:25and Anderson can hook this,
32:27it'll be all over
32:28for beautiful Bobby
32:29Super Sunday,
32:30May 19th.
32:31And we'll be back on TVS,
32:33the Steiners
32:34from the Tokyo Dome,

33:49Welcome back,
33:50everyone,
33:50to TBS
33:51and the Power Hour.
33:52Jim Ross and Polly
33:52dangerously back with you.
33:53In just a moment or two,
33:55we're going to go back
33:55to Tokyo, Japan.
33:57And before 65,000 fans,
33:59it was the ultimate
34:00tag team match.
34:01It was the best
34:02that America had to offer
34:03the Steiner brothers
34:04versus the best
34:06that Japan had to offer
34:07Mr. Hase and Sasaki.
34:10Paul,
34:10this was a great matchup.
34:10Well, you see,
34:11the Steiners went to Japan
34:12with something in mind.
34:13They were already
34:14the United States
34:14tag team champions
34:15and the world
34:16tag team champions.
34:17Now the Japanese
34:17have a better economy.
34:18Their yen beats the dollar.
34:19The Japanese make
34:20better automobiles.
34:21Nissan beats General Motors
34:22every single time
34:23in the stock market.
34:23But here come
34:24the Steiner brothers,
34:25Scott and Goofy.
34:26Boom, boom, boom.
34:27And they come in the ring
34:28and they have the most
34:28brutal contest
34:29I have ever seen
34:30against Hase and Sasaki.
34:32Japanese best,
34:33America's best.
34:34You know who won.
34:35Ladies and gentlemen,
34:36it was a tremendous,
34:38tremendous accomplishment
34:39for the Steiners.
34:40Let's join the match
34:41in progress.
34:42My colleague,
34:43Tony Schiavone,
34:44and I call the action.
34:45I'll give you odds.
34:46Oh, sure, I'm sure you will.
34:47I'll take the Steiners.
34:48Because Scott Steiner
34:49knows full well
34:50that Hase is so quick
34:53and his quickness
34:54can be a big factor
34:55in this match,
34:56especially as the match
34:57progresses.
34:58If it gets 20,
34:5930 minutes in,
35:00Hase's quickness
35:01is going to be a factor.
35:03They went to the ropes
35:04and Scott Steiner
35:05gave the break.
35:09And they are back
35:10once again.
35:11You mentioned about
35:12the U.S. Tag belts
35:13and they are U.S. Tag Team
35:14champions.
35:15And of course,
35:16we are coming to you
35:17exclusively on pay-per-view
35:18from Turner Home Entertainment.
35:21And on April 7th,
35:22you may be watching this
35:23after April 7th,
35:25on April 7th,
35:26the weekend of,
35:26World Championship Wrestling
35:27will make some sort of
35:29verdict or determination
35:30on those U.S. Tag Team belts
35:31what to do with them.
35:35Scott Steiner
35:36knows full well
35:37that he's in there
35:38with another man
35:39with a great amateur background.
35:41Hase,
35:42after he wrestled for,
35:43Hase,
35:43after he wrestled
35:44in the 84 Olympics,
35:46started teaching school,
35:47decided to become a pro.
35:48They trained him.
35:49His very first match
35:49in this country,
35:50he won the Junior Heavyweight Championship.
35:53Great suplex there.
35:55So in his very first match
35:56as a pro,
35:57he won the Junior Heavyweight Championship
35:59of Japan,
36:00which we saw earlier
36:02defended by
36:02Jushin Thunder Liger.
36:05Then Scotty Ann
36:06who holds onto the rubs.
36:07And Scotty wanted
36:08that Steiner line.
36:09Oh, my goodness.
36:11Hase with his quickness.
36:12Tucked the Steiner line
36:14and came on
36:15with a move of his own.
36:16Great karate kick there.
36:18And a big-time
36:18clothesline.
36:20You're right
36:21about big-time clothesline.
36:23I don't ever remember
36:24someone sending
36:25Scotty Steiner
36:26out of the ring
36:27in that fashion.
36:28Scotty back up to his feet.
36:29Now remember,
36:29he's got a 20 count out there.
36:31One, two, three,
36:32two, three,
36:33your referee
36:35is Nick Patrick.
36:36And Hase on all fours,
36:38much like we've seen
36:39the dog-faced griblin do.
36:41Speaking of him,
36:42he's in.
36:43Well, he's rather unique.
36:46And so Hase brings in
36:48Kenzuki Sasaki.
36:50And listen to the fans
36:52respond to Sasaki.
36:53He's a real power wrestler.
36:55Very compact.
36:56He uses a power clothesline,
36:58much like a Steiner line.
36:59Tell us the Sasaki line
37:01that we wanted.
37:01And he also does
37:02a complete power slam,
37:04meaning he takes his opponent
37:05to complete 360
37:07and really drives him
37:08to the canvas.
37:10So those are his two big,
37:12high-impact offensive moves
37:13that he really likes to use.
37:15Side headlock.
37:17Over the top.
37:18A lot of quickness here.
37:19Great.
37:20Up in there.
37:21He picked him up.
37:22And there it was.
37:24The power of Sasaki,
37:26like you alluded to, Jim.
37:27And a bulldog!
37:28Running bulldog.
37:31He came out of nowhere
37:32with that one.
37:33Now Rick Steiner's on the rope.
37:35Rick Steiner gets dribbled.
37:37Oh!
37:38Well, we can't.
37:39I think he did this off.
37:40The Sasaki line.
37:42Wow, what impact.
37:44And here is Hase once again.
37:47And the dog-faced gremlin
37:49just trying to shake off
37:50the effects of that Sasaki line.
37:52And now pick-up.
37:55Two power men here.
37:57And there's a good move
37:58by Rick Steiner
37:59to get Scotty back in.
38:00Well, it's good that Rick
38:01needed to make the tag.
38:02He's a little, uh,
38:03his equilibrium
38:04is a little affected here.
38:06Scotty picks him up.
38:08Form of a power bomb
38:09that time.
38:11As he's putting down
38:11back first to the mat.
38:12I looked at the comparisons
38:15between these two teams.
38:16They both like to use
38:17the bulldog off the top rope
38:19on their opponent's,
38:20their teammate's shoulder.
38:23Scott Steiner up on top
38:25with Hiroshi Hase.
38:28And what's he gonna do here?
38:30Oh, he's gonna go off
38:31with him on his back.
38:35Now he needs to make the cover.
38:37Got to be making the cover
38:39right here, Tony.
38:40He's caught up in this
38:41tremendous crowd,
38:43but he did not go for a cover.
38:45And that's a mistake.
38:46Well, Jim, you're right.
38:47He's caught up in the crowd.
38:48And like we alluded to earlier,
38:50for the first time ever,
38:52the Signers are wrestling a team
38:53that fans are cheering for.
38:56And that really has
38:57Scotty perplexed in a way.
39:01Top turnbuckle.
39:02Yeah, they're still describing
39:03the feeling that could get there.
39:07Hase caught up on top.
39:09And now,
39:10Rick Steiner
39:11sends him off.
39:12Now you hear him standing,
39:13Hase.
39:17Steiner's into the room.
39:18The Steiner line
39:19caught him kind of low
39:20that time,
39:20but still had good effect.
39:22Rick now
39:23fully confident
39:24that Scotty is
39:25ready to
39:27come back in.
39:30Belly to belly here
39:31coming up.
39:32Over the top.
39:35And the referee
39:36trying to tell him
39:37that there's five minutes
39:38and laughs in the match.
39:41Kicked out of the belly
39:42to belly.
39:44Got to give both teams
39:45a lot of credit.
39:46They've both taken
39:47a great deal of punishment
39:48only five minutes into the...
39:50Oh, TGT.
39:52Again.
39:53Scotty not covering...
39:54He's making a tag again
39:55and that's two times
39:57I think he should have
39:58made the cover, Tony.
40:00It'll be up to Rick Steiner
40:01to see if he can't continue
40:02this assault here
40:03and he's going to put him
40:04on the opposite
40:05neutral corner now.
40:06Rick Steiner now
40:07has got Hase up there.
40:08Now, Hase,
40:09again,
40:09he's the smallest guy
40:11in the match.
40:12Less body weight.
40:13He's going to easy...
40:14Oh!
40:15He's the easier
40:16of the two
40:16to belly to belly
40:17but it's not easy
40:18off the top rope.
40:20And the elbow.
40:22He'll go for the cover.
40:24And it was
40:25his partner, Sasaki,
40:27who made the save
40:28that time
40:29and here comes
40:30the teamwork again
40:31from the Steiner brothers.
40:34I thought
40:34because of the
40:35less body weight
40:37that the Japanese
40:38would have the advantage
40:39as the match
40:39continued on.
40:42But here early
40:43if they can keep
40:44a high impact going
40:45the Steiner's
40:46have the advantage.
40:47They're the more
40:47aggressive of the
40:48two teams.
40:49Pick up.
40:51And there's
40:51the power bomb.
40:53Two count
40:54and Sasaki makes
40:55the save.
40:56He wants the tag.
40:57He wants in there.
40:58Well, the Japanese
40:58fans are very surprised
41:00that a fan favorite
41:01like Sasaki
41:02would interfere
41:03as he did.
41:04But this one is for...
41:05There's never been
41:06a tag team match
41:07that I've ever broadcast
41:07that has this
41:09much riding
41:09on it
41:09as this one.
41:11Now the Steiner
41:12double teaming.
41:14Hiroshi Hase.
41:16Both men in.
41:17Down!
41:17He got one!
41:19He kicked out Scotty
41:20in a side suplex.
41:22Holding from the chin.
41:23Then Scotty down.
41:25Tremendous move
41:26on the suplex.
41:29And now,
41:30Sasaki
41:30and the fans
41:32look at him standing.
41:34Front kicking both men.
41:35Steiner's
41:36in a lot of trouble.
41:38There's this three.
41:39That complete power slam.
41:41Scotty better make
41:41the save here.
41:42And he barely made the save.
41:45Scott Steiner's
41:45landing his composure.
41:47And the fans
41:47are upset
41:48with that tactic.
41:50Good point, Jim.
41:51He's losing his composure
41:52the first time
41:53I've ever seen
41:53that with Scotty Steiner.
41:55Protecting his brother.
41:58Running slam
41:59in his corner, too,
42:00where he can make a tag.
42:02Oh, this is
42:03one of their favorite moves.
42:04Watch this.
42:06He suplexed his own man
42:07onto Rick Steiner.
42:09Hase did not go
42:10for a pin there, though.
42:12He's going to try
42:12something else.
42:13Another Northern Line
42:14suplex.
42:14Nobody gets out of this one
42:15with a bridge.
42:16And Rick Steiner did it.
42:18He got out of it.
42:18Look at the surprised
42:19look on Hase's face.
42:21No one kicks out
42:22of the Northern Line
42:23suplex.
42:24But Rick Steiner
42:25is in the book.
42:27Ducks a closed line
42:28and they both meet
42:29with a closed line
42:29and both go down.
42:31Wow.
42:34Now, Nick Patrick
42:35saying both men down
42:36is going to start
42:36to count here.
42:38Who can get up
42:39and make a tag first?
42:42Rick's tagged in.
42:43Scott.
42:43Scott Steiner
42:44is going airborne.
42:46Boy, this one is.
42:48Very, very close.
42:50Pick up.
42:51That's what he calls
42:51his stilted world slam.
42:53And Hase did he make
42:55the tag?
42:55He did make the tag.
42:56That was a smart tag
42:57on his part.
42:59Sasaki is in.
43:00Scott Steiner
43:00continues the assault.
43:01No.
43:03That was almost a DDT
43:05but he turned it around
43:06on him
43:06and then he's back down first.
43:08Well, he looked
43:09for the adulation
43:10of the crowd.
43:11He didn't get all of it.
43:13Now,
43:13they're going to try
43:15to pick up Scottie Steiner.
43:16Maybe he talked
43:17about their top row
43:18bulldog
43:18but Rick Steiner
43:20comes in.
43:21Then he Hase down.
43:23And now the Steiner's
43:25this is the move
43:26that they've perfected
43:27in the United States.
43:29Trying basically
43:30the same thing.
43:32They have Sasaki up.
43:34Hase on the outside.
43:36There's a bulldog.
43:38Oh, Sasaki's in big trouble.
43:41He looks like he's
43:42going to try to set him up
43:43for the Frankensteiner.
43:44This crowd
43:45and these athletes
43:46know the Frankensteiner
43:48is the coup de grace.
43:50Missed it to him.
43:51Here it is!
43:53He got it!
43:54The Frankensteiner!
43:57It's in it!
43:59The Steiners have won it here.
44:00Well, that's Frankensteiner.
44:01They have just made history
44:04in professional wrestling.
44:06The world champion.
44:08The Japanese champion.
44:09The United States champion.
44:11Three championship belts.
44:14Helps that currently
44:15nothing else
44:16has ever been like.
44:17Tremendous win, Jim.
44:21You're right.
44:23And the fans
44:24really appreciative
44:25of both teams
44:28but especially
44:29the Steiners
44:30and as you say
