Oh
00:30
Ideas for a social justice future for everybody in our society. Thank you for inviting me to come along today
00:40
There's a few things I want to say but I won't take two ideas for a social justice future for everybody in our society
00:47
Thank you for inviting me to come along today
00:51
There's a few things I want to say but I won't take two left is normal size of their eyes
00:56
Eyes bulging out of their heads because they are so bereft of
01:02
any nutrition water or medicine
01:07
And as they die if they're anywhere near the border fence in Gaza
01:14
They can look across that fence
01:17
And they can see
01:20
Food water medicine in plenty
01:23
It's a deliberate act of using starvation of children as an act of war by Israel
01:31
It is disgraceful and disgusting
01:33
Our support has to be that the Palestinian people should be able to live in peace and justice
01:41
New generation into political and trade union activity
01:47
And what she's asked me to point out is, and Lindsay's going to talk about this a bit more
01:53
That it's now formed itself into national women's action for positive change
01:59
That's a legacy of the women against hate closures
02:02
After the 40th anniversary of the minus one
02:04
The idea is to inspire, empower and educate women to become more active as organisers
02:14
If we don't ensure that the entirety of our movement is active and involved
02:20
Then we're weakening ourselves and weakening opportunities for the future
02:24
So if you want to join this organisation, I hope you do
02:27
Then do it in the memory of Anne Scargill and so many others that gave so much
02:32
But do it to make sure the next generation
02:35
Who caused the wars in the first place
02:37
The governments, the imperialists and the arms country
02:40
So, just to conclude, I'd like to say this
02:43
When we try to protest and demonstrate
02:46
They try to repress us
02:48
This is what they did to the miners
02:50
People here know better than me
02:52
The repression that went on in the pit villages 40 years ago
02:56
They know the surveillance and it will be much, much worse surveillance now
03:01
With all the equipment that they have
03:03
We know that they used everything in their power to defeat the miners
03:08
But we are still here and we are still fighting 40 years on
03:13
And that is the important thing
03:15
And with the Palestine movement, they have tried to repress us from word one
03:19
From day one
03:20
They've said we're hate marches
03:22
They say we're anti-Semitic
03:24
These are complete lies
03:26
They are complete lies
03:28
But they still do it
03:29
And on a demonstration in January
03:32
They arrested the head of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign
03:35
And our Stop the Wars Chief Steward, Chris Ninam
03:39
They were being caught in July
03:41
And we hope everyone will send them solidarity
03:44
And show them support
