Hundreds of residents and visitors gathered across the Causeway Coast and Glens to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) Day, in a heartfelt day of remembrance and celebration centred in Coleraine.
Organised by the Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, Thursday’s commemorative events offered a powerful tribute to those who served and sacrificed during World War II.
At 6:30pm, a wave of church bells rang out across the Borough, creating a shared moment of reflection and unity. Evening festivities followed in The Diamond, where the area was decorated with picnic tables and bunting. The Leading Ladies took to the stage, delighting the audience with vintage harmonies and wartime classics, bringing the spirit of the 1940s to life once again.
