Bihar groom halts his baraat to join security drill before wedding

Sushant Kushwaha delayed his own wedding by two hours to take part in a security drill in Bihar.

00:03Sushant Kushwaha from Bihar's Purnia district was scheduled to leave for his bride's home

00:06in Araria district about 40km away with the barat at 6pm on 7th May 2025.

00:12But he kept his bride, family and guests waiting for two hours without hesitation.

00:30The security mock drills were conducted across 244 districts on the Home Ministry's orders

00:36in response to new and complex threats following the Pahalgam terror attack on 22nd April.

00:41Kushwaha said he had informed both families a day earlier that he would first participate in the drill

00:45as soon as it was confirmed that the exercise would take place in Burnia.

00:48He eventually departed with the barat at 8pm.
