00:00Look at this panel, guys.
00:04Someone screamed sexy, and I think that's pretty accurate.
00:07You're the real stars.
00:09I know this is called a supporting character panel,
00:11but you all made your shows, especially this season.
00:15You're all the reason why those shows were a hit.
00:18Let me introduce you right now to all of them.
00:20I got Stephanie Koenig over here from English Teacher.
00:24Abby Elliott down there from The Bear.
00:27Jane Lynch from Only Murders in the Building.
00:30Janelle James from Abbott Elementary.
00:35Porna Jag and Nathan, sort of, kind of, from Deli Boys.
00:40You'll teach me the proper one.
00:42And last but not least, the one and only Matt Bomer from Mid-Century Modern.
00:48So, yeah, I mean, you guys are called supporting,
00:52but then again, like, your stories really drove this season for the most part.
00:57And, Jade, I'll start with you, because this whole season of Only Murders
01:01was about what happened to poor Saz.
01:03Yeah, incinerated, it turns out, at the very end.
01:05Yeah.
01:06Yes.
01:07It's not pleasant.
01:09No.
01:09But when you found out that that was how poor Saz was going to go,
01:13but she was going to be celebrated this season,
01:15what did you think of that?
01:16Oh, I was thrilled, because the year before, I had done two episodes,
01:20and I knew I'd be in a lot of them,
01:22because I was going to be the murder victim,
01:24because there would be a lot of flashbacks,
01:26and they brought me back as a ghost,
01:28and, oh, it was just a joy.
01:30Such a joy.
01:31Yeah.
01:31No, and we got to hear some origin stories.
01:34You got to play the younger version of yourself.
01:37Yes.
01:37Well, the heyday, when I was standing in for Steve Martin's character,
01:42Charles, in Brazos.
01:44So it was real 80s, you know, really 80s detective show.
01:47Kind of neat.
01:48Yeah, yeah.
01:49But there was something really bittersweet, too,
01:51in knowing that she had written this amazing script,
01:54and had all these plans to celebrate craftspeople.
01:57Do you hear from actual stunt people?
02:00Are you sort of their new patron saint?
02:01Oh, I actually have not,
02:03but I love that we celebrated the stunt world,
02:07and one of my favorite things is the bar that we all hung out at
02:10was called Concussions.
02:12Yes.
02:14No, absolutely.
02:17Stephanie, your character really drives Evan.
02:19I mean, she's a big part of, you know,
02:21they have a little bit of a falling out here and there,
02:24but, you know, she's got her own issues.
02:27She's, you know, got her own sort of self-confidence issues,
02:31but at the same time,
02:32she's sort of driving what's going on with Evan.
02:34Where did you see sort of her character
02:36and her place in the story of English Teacher?
02:40I'm sort of like, this is so crazy
02:43that I'm up here with everybody up here.
02:45I'm like, is this real?
02:46Am I supposed to be here?
02:47I'm like, is this real?
02:49Sorry.
02:50Questions.
02:50Yes.
02:51Okay.
02:51Yeah, she's like the teacher who tries a little too hard
02:59and is like his anchor and best friend.
03:02And what was the question again?
03:04My favorite part, early in the season,
03:07when she's pissed to discover that the students
03:09have their rancor of the hottest teachers,
03:11but then she's more pissed that she's not on that list.
03:15Yeah, and trying to hide it too.
03:17She's like, it's not, I want to shut down the list,
03:19but it's not because I'm not at the top.
03:21It's for feminist reasons.
03:24You should not be ranking the teachers.
03:26But yeah, she cares a little too much.
03:29And yeah, that character, that student Jeff,
03:33played by Ben Bondurant, is so funny.
03:36I was so excited to have like a big meaty scene with him.
03:40And we, yeah, we're bringing him back for season two.
03:44So yeah, it was really fun.
03:46Yeah, I know, and I love them.
03:47She starts dressing a little more.
03:50I know, she looks like Erin Brockovich in one scene.
03:53For a while, we were like,
03:54maybe we should have her look like Billie Eilish,
03:56which I was really pushing for,
03:57but we settled on Erin.
04:02Janelle, this is a big season for Ava.
04:06Because, yeah.
04:07Yeah.
04:11Ava was just doing, you know,
04:13something good for her school, kinda.
04:15Yeah, she was accepting money and goods under the table.
04:19But, you know, sometimes you gotta-
04:21For the children.
04:22For the children.
04:23Yes.
04:23Do it for the kids.
04:24With a, you know, commission on top.
04:27But that led to her being fired for a period of time.
04:30So what did you make of that storyline?
04:32And the assurances from the bosses
04:35that eventually Ava would be reinstated.
04:37I mean, this season was amazing
04:40because it's like Ava wrote it herself.
04:43It was truly an Ava season.
04:46So that was great.
04:47I mean, for me, myself,
04:49when Quinta told me about a week before
04:52that I would be fired,
04:53I believe I said,
04:54do I still get paid?
04:55One, because that's a me question.
05:00And also, I wasn't-
05:02It just didn't seem likely
05:03that I would not be back.
05:04I didn't hear from Spielberg or anything.
05:07So I didn't know where I would be going.
05:09So, but I was excited
05:11to see how people would respond.
05:14And that was like the best week of my life.
05:16Like, people were on true suicide watch
05:19based on my character being fired.
05:23And so what a bigger compliment than that.
05:26Yeah.
05:27The irony is that there are so many reasons
05:29why Ava should be fired.
05:32Says who?
05:35And yet she was-
05:36If it had happened already,
05:37it's never, you know,
05:38it's how I took it.
05:39And yet she was finally fired
05:41for the one thing that,
05:42like, she was doing good for the-
05:43Don't do good, folks.
05:44That was the moral of the story.
05:47And so seeing the faculty
05:49actually rally around her
05:51and like, well, we need to bring her back.
05:53Like, really?
05:54But they did.
05:55And she's back-
05:56Did you leave me?
05:57Has she-
05:57Nope.
05:58What do you think Ava's learned
06:00from all of this?
06:04I guess the better question is,
06:06has she learned anything from this?
06:07I mean, yeah.
06:08I believe she came back
06:10even more egan maniacal than before.
06:12Like, she's learned that,
06:14you know,
06:15that she does have some selfless bones
06:19in her body,
06:20that she does care about the school,
06:21that she does enjoy this job,
06:22even though she doesn't need it.
06:24And that she is the lifeblood of Abbott.
06:27Yeah.
06:28We need more AvaFest.
06:29Can't run without her.
06:29Yeah, yeah, you cannot-
06:30Who gonna run AvaFest?
06:32Exactly.
06:32Exactly.
06:33Exactly.
06:33No, my favorite also is like,
06:35no one believed her
06:36that she knew Questlove.
06:38And then-
06:39So, don't doubt Ava.
06:41So, that's what you guys learned.
06:47So, Porna, quite an ending
06:50to the first episode of Deli Boys
06:52where we discover Lucky is,
06:54you know, pretty dark.
06:58There's one clap in the audience.
07:01There we go.
07:01I see you.
07:05So, for those of you
07:06who haven't seen Deli Boys,
07:07she gets-
07:10You get to kick some ass.
07:13Yes.
07:14So, talk a little bit about that.
07:16What drew you to Lucky
07:17in this character?
07:18And what did you think of this show?
07:19It's such a wild, wild ride.
07:22Well, I later discovered
07:24something about the character,
07:26but when I read it,
07:27she is so masculine, feminine.
07:31And I've never come across
07:32a character like this before, right?
07:34She's so feminine
07:35the way she nurtures
07:36and deals with people
07:37and the way she cooks
07:38and she's, you know,
07:40she just inhabits this world
07:42of being nurturing
07:43and fierce at the same time.
07:46But then I, you know,
07:47when I did have a conversation
07:48with the creator, Abdullah,
07:50he had first written it,
07:51written Lucky as a man.
07:53And he had gone to a Geena Davis talk
07:56and she said,
07:57look at two characters in your script
07:58and if you can make them men,
08:00make them men
08:00and Lucky turned into a,
08:01you know, from Lucky Uncle
08:03and went into Lucky Auntie.
08:04So, you can feel it in the script
08:08because, I mean,
08:10it's just not a role,
08:12a lot of, it's,
08:14a lot of female roles
08:16are not written with this,
08:18this intensity.
08:19So, it was so fun to step into.
08:22That's so great.
08:23I didn't even realize that.
08:24So, there, yeah,
08:25because there is a certain,
08:26like, just like strong energy
08:27to this character.
08:28That must have been
08:29just so much fun to play.
08:30So much fun.
08:32And, you know,
08:32I think, like,
08:33balancing,
08:34balancing both those sides
08:36was the most fun
08:37and where the comedy came from.
08:39You know,
08:39the fact that she can just
08:40shoot someone
08:42and take someone's eye
08:44out with her heel
08:45and be, like,
08:47making, you know,
08:48food with the right,
08:49like, you know,
08:50she's just doing all these things
08:51at the same exact time.
08:53That was so fun to shoot.
08:54Yeah, I was going to say,
08:54Porn,
08:55I'm not digging those heels right now.
08:56It's really concerning.
08:57I mean, those are danger.
08:59They're really not that bad,
09:01but they could do some damage.
09:03They could do some serious damage.
09:04So, I don't know
09:05if that's changed
09:06people's perceptions of you,
09:07but you've got some badass
09:09in you now.
09:10So, um...
09:12But props to the stunt people.
09:13Seriously, I,
09:14I, you know,
09:16I don't even want
09:17a fingernail of mine broken,
09:19so I do as little stunts
09:21as humanly possible.
09:23Yeah, no,
09:24shout out to the Zaz's
09:25of the world.
09:25They're the real Zaz's.
09:27Yeah.
09:28Um, so, Abby,
09:29this was a big season
09:30for, for you, too,
09:31obviously,
09:32with the birth,
09:33and, yeah,
09:33shout out to...
09:35Your standout episode
09:38with, uh,
09:39Jamie Lee Curtis,
09:40of course,
09:40was, uh,
09:41just an emotional triumph,
09:42uh,
09:43and, and that seemed like
09:44you put a lot of work
09:45into that.
09:46Tell us about that episode.
09:47Yeah, that was, uh,
09:49that was wild.
09:50Um, so I was actually
09:52pregnant during the second season,
09:54um, and, uh,
09:57I was, I was very nervous
09:58to tell Chris and Joanna,
10:01you know,
10:01and, and, and then,
10:03you know,
10:03they, they kind of,
10:05they wrote this beautiful story
10:07about, you know, uh,
10:09Sugar reuniting with,
10:11with her mom in this time,
10:13and, you know,
10:14she's the last person
10:15that Sugar wanted to call,
10:16and, of course,
10:16she needed her,
10:18and, um,
10:19and so when I was giving
10:20birth to my son,
10:21um, in IRL,
10:23uh, I knew that I was gonna
10:25be able to do this
10:26labor episode,
10:27and so I had my actual mom
10:29videotape my, uh,
10:32contractions,
10:33and, which was,
10:35yeah,
10:35and so I could watch them
10:36back before,
10:39yeah, yeah,
10:40um, but...
10:42That's some Jeremy Strong
10:43kind of...
10:44Yeah, yeah,
10:45very method.
10:46You can drop the mic now.
10:48That was incredible.
10:49But, like, it was,
10:51you know,
10:51that, that,
10:52the story that they wrote
10:53was so beautiful
10:54because, you know,
10:54you're, you have these,
10:56this is the most excruciating
10:57pain that you've ever been in,
10:59and then these moments
10:59where Jamie's like,
11:00you have your father's ass,
11:02and it's just like,
11:03it's so real,
11:04and, you know,
11:05for my actual birth,
11:07my mom,
11:08I think she didn't want
11:08to park at the hospital
11:09parking lot,
11:10because she didn't want
11:10to pay,
11:10so she parked at a HomeGoods,
11:13and...
11:14Amazing.
11:16And I pitched that,
11:17and they were like,
11:17hmm, I don't know
11:18if we can use HomeGood,
11:19but, um...
11:20But, uh...
11:21But that was, like,
11:22those moments of just, like,
11:24oh, it's so frustrating
11:25in this, like,
11:25super intense,
11:26very real time
11:27we tried to...
11:29Now, what was...
11:30So talk about practicing
11:32and rehearsing with Jamie Lee
11:33and that experience of...
11:36I mean, that's just...
11:36That back and forth,
11:37it's so heartbreaking,
11:39and, I mean,
11:40I said master class.
11:41It kind of was a master class.
11:43Yeah, I mean,
11:43I knew that she was in town.
11:46She had gotten into town,
11:47like, a couple days before,
11:48and I was like,
11:48should...
11:49Like, we text,
11:50we're friends,
11:50she's so lovely,
11:51and I was like,
11:52should I ask her
11:53if she wants to work on this?
11:55And then it was, like,
11:57this show, you know,
11:58Chris is very much, like,
12:00show up and do
12:02what comes out that day,
12:04and so we really
12:06kind of ran through it
12:07once before,
12:08and then we started filming,
12:10and there were
12:10three cameras set up,
12:11and we did it.
12:12We did it.
12:13The whole script was,
12:14I think, like,
12:1523 pages,
12:16or that one scene
12:16in the script,
12:17and we went through it,
12:18like, three times
12:19and just trusted
12:20that he would edit it together,
12:23and, yeah.
12:24It was...
12:24wild.
12:26Fantastic.
12:26Yeah.
12:27Yeah.
12:29So, Matt,
12:30you have...
12:32Tell us about your pregnancy.
12:35What have you done
12:36for your art?
12:37I'll show you the videos.
12:40What have you done
12:41for your art?
12:42No, your character
12:44also plays
12:44such a unique role
12:46in the show
12:46because, you know,
12:47he's sort of the one
12:49who's a little bit dimmer
12:51than everyone else,
12:52but yet...
12:53Also, yeah.
12:54Yeah, I mean,
12:54but we kind of love
12:55that character.
12:56Sometimes electively,
12:57but most of the time
12:58non-electively.
13:00But at the same time,
13:01sort of has the...
13:03I don't want to say
13:04saddest story,
13:05but has the most
13:05profound story,
13:06the most profound background
13:07in sort of growing up
13:09Mormon
13:10and learning, like,
13:12that maybe, you know,
13:15that isn't right for them,
13:17but at the same time
13:18still appreciates...
13:19It's a complicated relationship
13:20that your character
13:21has with the church
13:22as he discovers
13:23his sexuality
13:24and, in the process,
13:27loses a daughter
13:27and then rediscovers her
13:29in one episode.
13:31So there's...
13:31You can go to some really,
13:32like, sort of strong places
13:34on a multi-camera sitcom,
13:36which has got to be
13:38pretty interesting to do.
13:40Yeah.
13:41First of all,
13:41thank you, everybody,
13:42for being here today.
13:44It did go a lot more
13:46Norman Lear
13:46than I thought
13:47it was going to,
13:48and I think that's really
13:49a testament to the writers.
13:50And, yeah, I mean,
13:52Jerry is somebody
13:53who has experienced
13:55an incredible amount
13:57of sadness in his life
13:58and trauma,
14:01but decides to take
14:02the high road
14:03and to try to see
14:03the best in people.
14:04And having grown up
14:06in a religious household myself,
14:08I could relate
14:08to a lot of those things,
14:09and I was just grateful
14:11that the writers
14:12didn't shy away from,
14:13you know,
14:14created a world
14:14where we could drop
14:15into moments like that.
14:16And sometimes,
14:17I don't know,
14:18as an audience member,
14:19if I'm getting messaging
14:20like that and laughing
14:21at the same time,
14:22it tends to absorb
14:24a little bit deeper.
14:25So I was just thankful
14:27that I got to be
14:27a part of that, yeah.
14:28Yeah, and obviously,
14:30you know,
14:30knowing that your show,
14:32you know,
14:32some of the auspices
14:33are the Will and Grace duo
14:35and they know
14:36how to make something
14:37really funny on the page
14:39but at the same time
14:39make you feel something.
14:41So I'm sure
14:41that was a real impetus
14:43to wanting to do this.
14:45Yeah, I mean,
14:46the entire creative team,
14:48I mean,
14:48the writers from Will and Grace,
14:49Jimmy Burroughs,
14:50who directed every episode,
14:52Nathan Lane,
14:53Nathan Lee Graham,
14:54Linda Lavin,
14:55I mean,
14:55it was just across the board,
14:56it was all bucket list people.
14:58And so you just kind of
15:00jump behind their speedboat
15:02and try to do the best you can
15:04to just, you know,
15:05jet ski behind them
15:07if you can.
15:08Well, and you can't...
15:09Water ski, sorry.
15:10It'd be weird
15:10if I was just jet skiing
15:11behind their boat.
15:12Hey, guys!
15:14Just hanging out.
15:20We appreciate the analogy.
15:21We, we...
15:22And you're...
15:25It's very jerry-coated.
15:26And you get to do it
15:28with the best,
15:29like you mentioned,
15:29Jimmy Burroughs.
15:30So talk about doing a multi-cam
15:32in an era
15:33where there aren't
15:33many multi-cams.
15:35It's fucking terrifying.
15:37Can I curse on this?
15:38Absolutely.
15:39It's...
15:39It's...
15:39Dennis Leary
15:40was right behind you.
15:41Yes, yes.
15:43No, it is honestly...
15:45I think I've done
15:46pretty much every medium
15:47at this point
15:48and it's probably
15:49the scariest,
15:50but also
15:51the most enervating
15:52and the most thrilling.
15:53And Jimmy only does
15:54one take.
15:56So you're doing it for...
15:58You know,
15:58at best,
15:58you've had your lines
15:59for 72 hours.
16:01At worst,
16:0230 seconds.
16:03And you do one take
16:05in front of an audience
16:06of 500 people
16:07and then they change
16:08sometimes all your lines,
16:10sometimes a couple
16:11of your lines,
16:11sometimes none,
16:12and then you do one more
16:13and then you move on.
16:14But he's...
16:15You know,
16:16he's just somebody
16:17who's been doing it
16:17for so long
16:18that he really works
16:19in master strokes.
16:20Like,
16:21he can just say,
16:22take two Kleenexes
16:24instead of one
16:25and that'll get a laugh.
16:27And I don't understand
16:28the math of that,
16:29but he has it all
16:30in his head,
16:31even just with the staging.
16:33So between he and...
16:34Nathan Lane
16:35has been like
16:35a hugely formative figure
16:37for me as an artist
16:38from the time
16:39I was that nerd
16:39in my drama club library
16:41reading like
16:43Laughter on the 23rd Floor
16:44and Terrence McNally plays.
16:45So...
16:46And Nathan Lee Graham
16:48I've been a fan of
16:48and obviously
16:49Linda Lavin
16:50through their theater work
16:51over their years
16:51and Alice
16:52and all those great things.
16:54So it was really...
16:55I was kind of
16:55pinching myself every day
16:56and just trying
16:57to watch and learn.
16:59Yeah,
16:59I was going to say,
17:00I mean,
17:00all of you are part
17:01of pretty great ensembles
17:03and that's got to be
17:04some of the fun too
17:05and just working
17:06with talent.
17:08I mean,
17:09Jane,
17:10working with folks
17:11like Steve Martin
17:12and Martin Short,
17:13I mean,
17:13come on.
17:14It's like
17:15being at a delightful
17:16dinner party
17:17before you're shooting
17:19and you're sitting
17:19just kind of
17:20in wherever
17:20the green room is
17:21and then
17:23there's something
17:24to be said
17:25about maturity.
17:27I mean,
17:27these guys
17:28don't need
17:28to prove themselves
17:29and so there's
17:31a real...
17:31It's very low-key
17:33and very wonderful.
17:35Everybody's doing
17:35a crossword puzzle
17:36or a wordle
17:37and then we get up
17:38and we do the stuff
17:40and they're just
17:42so available
17:42and so there
17:43and it's
17:44yeah,
17:45just a joy.
17:46Yeah,
17:47no,
17:47no,
17:47absolutely
17:47and the same
17:48for all of you
17:49especially as your shows
17:50have gone on.
17:51I mean,
17:51Janelle,
17:52the Abbott cast
17:53has become
17:54such a great ensemble
17:56and it's almost like
17:57there's no one star
17:58because everyone
17:59has such great material
18:01but also everyone
18:02has their...
18:03They all have
18:04an important role
18:05to play on the show.
18:06I mean,
18:06I think that's
18:07a testament to Quinta
18:08like from the pilot
18:10all of us,
18:11all of the characters
18:12are so well-drawn
18:13and real people
18:14and so layered
18:15from the...
18:16You know who they are
18:17from the first episode
18:18and so we've just
18:19been able to
18:20immediately jump into this
18:22and we all...
18:24Because we know
18:24who we are
18:25and we know
18:25what we're embodying
18:27we're able to interact
18:28with each other.
18:29It's not like
18:29you're interacting
18:29with an animal
18:30or an alien.
18:31I'm like,
18:31I know this person.
18:33You know?
18:34I know this person
18:35and so it makes
18:35it even easier
18:36and then the caliber
18:38of talent,
18:38Sherri Lee Ralph
18:39and Tyler James William
18:41and Quinta herself
18:42and so it's been
18:43for me
18:44so helpful
18:46to just make sure
18:47because I'm never
18:48going to embarrass myself
18:49in public
18:50to make sure
18:54I rise to the level
18:55of them
18:55and they help me
18:57get better
18:57which is what I think
18:58going to...
18:59Not get better
19:00because I am good.
19:02Be better
19:03because
19:04that's what
19:08an ensemble is.
19:09Yeah.
19:09Yeah.
19:09No, and watching
19:10I mean,
19:11you're working
19:11with some veterans
19:12like you mentioned
19:12like Sherri Lee Ralph
19:13and then watching
19:14some of your other
19:14colleagues
19:15sort of just blow up
19:16and Abby,
19:17that must have been
19:18fun too
19:19as the bear blew up
19:20just to see
19:21just the star rise
19:22for all these people
19:23around you too
19:24and what that must be
19:26like now
19:26to be working
19:28with everyone
19:28as it gels like that.
19:30Yeah, I mean
19:31that has been
19:32so thrilling
19:32to see
19:33our friends
19:35and Io
19:37I've known forever
19:38like she
19:38after NYU
19:40worked
19:41on a pilot
19:43that I did
19:43and I remember
19:44being like
19:44oh my god
19:45who is...
19:46like she is so amazing
19:47and so
19:48when we
19:50came on to this
19:51like it just
19:51absolutely
19:52like I was like
19:53oh my god
19:53yes, I'm so happy
19:55to be on
19:56the show with her
19:57and you know
19:58it's just
19:59it's...
20:00everyone is really great
20:01and again
20:02like we do
20:03now in season four
20:05know these characters
20:06and know how to play
20:08against different people
20:09and their relationships
20:10within storylines
20:13that have evolved now
20:15and like
20:15for Natalie
20:16her dealing with
20:18the Fack brothers
20:19has been
20:20really fun for me
20:21because now I know
20:22and can roll my eyes
20:23at Maddie
20:24in real life
20:25and seeing that
20:28get to play out
20:29now on camera
20:30is so...
20:31it's so fun
20:32because we just
20:33get to play
20:33yeah, yeah
20:34no, absolutely
20:35can I say real quick
20:36I also have known
20:37me and Ayo
20:38had our first
20:38writing job together
20:39in like 13 years ago
20:41and so maybe
20:42you know
20:43some of you
20:44try to do a rivalry
20:45between our two shows
20:46I wanted to say
20:47that I am also happy
20:48for Ayo
20:49super happy
20:51for Ayo
20:52and she's also
20:53part of our show
20:54so I just wanted
20:54to say that
20:55I also love the beer
20:57and I love that
20:59on record
20:59listen, we can love
21:00all the shows
21:01on the stage
21:02equally
21:03they're all great
21:04right?
21:06comedy
21:07that's important
21:08by the way
21:08seeing more comedy
21:09and seeing comedy
21:10thrive right now
21:11has been great to see
21:12Porta
21:14what's it like
21:15to like start
21:16a new show
21:17and sort of
21:18you know
21:18get to know
21:19your co-stars
21:20and what was
21:21that experience like
21:22and sort of
21:23putting together
21:23that family
21:24I mean
21:26this is the second
21:27South Asian set
21:28that I've been on
21:29the first one
21:29was Never Have I Ever
21:30and
21:31oh
21:32a couple more people
21:34and
21:36it is
21:40it's just
21:41a different vibe
21:42and we shot
21:43opposite the bear
21:44and no one knew
21:46what our show was
21:47so we'd all just say
21:48we were on the bear
21:49and that
21:52it was a whole
21:52season about
21:53learning how to cook
21:54Indian food
21:55and they were like
21:56okay
21:57tracking
21:57but
22:00you know
22:02the atmosphere
22:02on set
22:03the atmosphere
22:03that Asavali
22:04and Sagar
22:05shake brought
22:06having
22:07South Asians
22:08not only in front
22:09of the camera
22:10but behind the camera
22:11you know
22:11when diversity
22:12works in front
22:12it's because
22:13diversity is working
22:14behind as well
22:15and
22:17the
22:19it's an
22:20unbelievable
22:21feeling
22:23to have
22:24something
22:25so authentically
22:26from us
22:28like
22:28it feels
22:29South Asian
22:29but there's no
22:30subtitles
22:31to the show
22:32and
22:33it just
22:33it just has a
22:34different feel
22:35when you're
22:35watching it
22:36when you're
22:37shooting it
22:37and you know
22:38the two boys
22:39just set the tone
22:41so beautifully
22:42it's a very
22:43tight-knit cast
22:44very tight-knit
22:45crew
22:45and
22:46I always say
22:48it was the first
22:49so the only show
22:51that I've been on
22:52that we get to set
22:53we all put our
22:54red noses on
22:55and no
22:56there were no
22:57adults saying
22:58you've gone too far
22:59today
22:59that that joke
23:00did does not work
23:01like there was no
23:02lines to be crossed
23:03it was just
23:03complete chaos
23:04on set
23:05and
23:06I think
23:08that kind of
23:09strange chemistry
23:10reads
23:11on camera
23:12yeah
23:13you kind of
23:14remind me
23:14I mean there's
23:15such unique
23:15aspects to all
23:16these shows
23:17on stage
23:17too
23:17something really
23:18special
23:19and Chris Elliott
23:20is on our show
23:21which is Abby's dad
23:22which I totally
23:23had forgotten about
23:24there's a lot of
23:24crossover
23:24I knew
23:25about Deli Boys
23:27before
23:27because
23:28yeah
23:28my dad was
23:29in town
23:30visiting
23:30me
23:31yes
23:32my children
23:33and he went
23:34and did
23:34Deli Boys
23:35he had a blast
23:35he said it was
23:36like the most fun
23:37what you're saying
23:38so fun
23:38yeah
23:39look at the
23:39crossovers
23:40happening
23:40I know
23:41and then
23:42Stephanie
23:43for you
23:43I mean
23:43you almost
23:44have like a
23:45repertory company
23:46of friends
23:47and folks
23:48that you've
23:48worked with
23:48for a while
23:49so there's
23:49chemistry
23:49there too
23:50yeah
23:51I mean
23:51we just
23:52got done
23:52filming
23:53season two
23:54and I will
23:54say it
23:55like the set
23:56with like
23:56returning
23:57with the cast
23:57we feel
23:58so like
23:58scrappy
23:59and it's
23:59so like
24:00we're making
24:00a home
24:01video or
24:01something
24:02like we're
24:03all in
24:03video village
24:04together
24:04there's not
24:04like a
24:05hierarchy
24:06of like
24:07who can
24:08be in the
24:08tent
24:09when you're
24:09on set
24:10a lot
24:11of the
24:11times
24:11it's like
24:12there's
24:12village
24:13and like
24:13you cannot
24:14cross
24:14like as
24:15an actor
24:15and it's
24:16such a
24:17different
24:17wild vibe
24:19because all
24:19of us
24:19I mean
24:20we're all
24:20so
24:21we've been
24:22in the
24:22business
24:22for a while
24:23but it's
24:23like we
24:24are really
24:24new
24:24and this
24:25is really
24:25like all
24:25of our
24:26first show
24:26that we
24:26care so
24:27much
24:27about
24:27and we're
24:29just like
24:29in village
24:30like yeah
24:30do it again
24:30I'm gonna
24:31try another
24:31joke
24:31and then we're
24:34so nice
24:35when there's
24:35no similar
24:36to what
24:37you're saying
24:37like anything
24:38you can
24:39try anything
24:40it's like
24:40we get
24:41the lines
24:42in the
24:43first we
24:44get out
24:44the lines
24:45like twice
24:45and then
24:46it's like
24:46can we
24:47go well
24:47okay let's
24:47go and
24:48then we
24:48can sort
24:49of trust
24:50that each
24:51other and
24:52it's just
24:52yeah it's
24:52such a wonderful
24:53experience with
24:54the cast
24:55and crew
24:56like returning
24:57it was it
24:57felt like
24:58family it
24:58was wonderful
24:59yeah
25:00and a
25:00crossover
25:01let's hear it
25:03I was in
25:03mid-century
25:04modern
25:04I was gonna
25:05say I'm
25:05I was gonna
25:05give you
25:06some extra
25:06credit
25:06Stephanie was
25:07one of our
25:08first guest
25:08stars and
25:09came in and
25:09just crushed
25:10it when we
25:11were all still
25:11figuring out
25:12what the hell
25:12we were doing
25:13she came in
25:13and showed us
25:14all how to
25:14do it so
25:15extra credit
25:16for Stephanie
25:16that show
25:18it was so
25:19stressful to
25:20be with you
25:21guys well you
25:22guys were the
25:22most wonderful
25:23people to
25:24work with
25:25because they
25:26are like huge
25:27stars all of
25:28them and it's
25:29Jimmy Burrows and
25:30it's Max and
25:31David so it's
25:31all like juggernauts
25:32and it felt like
25:33just I was like
25:34oh you guys are
25:35humans okay cool
25:36we're like here
25:36to work even
25:37like Nathan I
25:38remember Nathan
25:39being like nervous
25:40yes and I was
25:41like but you're
25:41Nathan and he's
25:43like nope I'm
25:44just Nathan yeah
25:45and I can be
25:46nervous you know
25:46and so that was
25:47really cool to be
25:49inside like as a
25:51fan and work with
25:52you guys was
25:53wonderful experience
25:54all right your
25:55homework now and
25:57I don't know
25:57which show it
25:58would be on
25:58maybe it's on
