00:00from Michigan is recognized for two minutes. Thank you, and thank you, Mr. Speaker. I rise
00:05in support of HJ Res 88, but I would like to clarify one thing that my colleague on the other
00:10side of the aisle add a little bit more color or correct the truth with the other half of the
00:15truth, and that is, yes, Trump is trying to claw back some money for the infrastructure of
00:23building these charging stations. And why is that? That's because the Biden administration
00:29gave them like a billion dollars to build charging stations, and I think, let's see,
00:35they built less than 10. I don't know about you, but I don't think that's a real good use of
00:39taxpayer money, so I'm in support of clawing some of that money back, and thank you, President Trump.
00:46But on to the resolution. This resolution offered by my good friend from Pennsylvania, Mr. Joyce,
00:51would reverse a waiver granted by the Biden EPA that allows states to ban the sale of gas-powered
01:01vehicles. This EPA rule has legitimate constitutional questions and would increase costs for Americans
01:10and manufacturers. Americans deserve to choose the car of their choice. In fact, Biden used liberal
01:20California to force a one-size-fits-all solution nationwide. One state should never dictate national
01:30policy because I can assure you what works in California sure doesn't work for the people of
01:37my great state of Michigan. In fact, this policy only hurts Michigan auto manufacturing jobs. Threatening
01:47to kill 37,000 jobs in my state of Michigan. I'm not for that. This is yet another example of House
01:57Republicans righting the wrongs and failings of the previous administration. We are keeping our promises
02:04to the American people to restore common sense, roll back burdensome regulations, and lower prices. Thank you,
02:13Mr. Speaker. I yield back. I reserve.
