25 injured after passenger bus falls into a drain in Odisha’s Balasore

Balasore (Odisha), May 06, 2025 (ANI): Passenger bus carrying around 35 passengers fell into a nearby drain after a tractor coming from the opposite direction collided with it on the Balasore-Fuladi road near Nuniajodi Bridge in Odisha’s Balasore on May 06. 25 passengers were injured in the accident. The injured were rushed to the district hospital for treatment. Locals, Fire Department and Odisha Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) personnel carried out the rescue operation. “...The bus was coming to Balasore from Jaleswar. The bus was speeding, it was hit by a tractor, lost balance and fell here. When we received information, our team reached here and we saw that 5-6 people were trapped inside the bus. Our team brought them out. We also came to know that before we reached here, passengers were shifted to district HQ hospital in 4-5 ambulances. Nobody had very serious injuries. Bus driver and helper had come out of the vehicle. So, there weren't many serious injuries. 1-2 people had sustained a little serious injury. They are under treatment.. No casualties were reported. Efforts are still underway. Bus is being lifted, search and rescue will be carried out even after that...,” said
