Queensland Labour Day turns into a victory march for ALP after big election win

Union members have celebrated Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s thumping election win as thousands took the streets to mark Labour Day while the LNP reflects on its losses.

00:50The weather's been a bit grey and gloomy with a bit of rain here and there but it hasn't deterred the crowds from turning out in their thousands.

00:58The 260,000 public sector workers, their enterprise agreements are up and they deserve to have a fair, decent and funded wage rise.

01:08We're continuing to negotiate and we're doing it in good faith.

01:11The Premier's side of politics also continues to mull over its disastrous federal poll loss.

01:17Elections are bruising and at the moment the federal, liberal and national parties have got soul searching to do.
