A brief recap of Dragon Age: Inquisition before you purchase Dragon Age: The Veilguard

00:00Are you excited for Dragon Age The Veilguard but have no idea what happened in the last game?

00:04Well, we're here to help with this handy Dragon Age Inquisition overview.

00:08The previous game tells the story of an organisation called the Inquisition,

00:12which was founded to restore order as a result of the Breach.

00:15The Breach is a tear in the Veil, which is a barrier that prevents demons from entering

00:20the world from a place known as the Fade, a realm where both demons and spirits dwell.

00:25Mages in this world draw from the Fade for their magic, and it's also where dreams take place.

00:31Your character becomes the Inquisitor after they inadvertently gain a mark

00:35on their hand that allows them to seal tears in the sky.

00:38Varric, a Dwarven rogue who we originally met in Dragon Age 2, returns as a companion,

00:43alongside several other party members, including an elven mage by the name of Solus,

00:48who is very knowledgeable about magic, elves and the Fade.

00:52With his own strong views about the nature of both spirits and demons.

00:57The Inquisitor sets out to seal the Breach and put a stop to Corpheus.

01:01Corpheus is an ancient darkspawn, essentially beings that have been corrupted and spread

01:06their taint across the land in what's known as a Blight.

01:09Corpheus seeks to become a god by entering the Fade.

01:13It's later revealed that there's far more to Solus than first meets the eye,

01:16with the end of Inquisition and the Trespasser DLC unveiling some major revelations about the true

01:22history of the elves.

01:24Solus is responsible for putting up the Veil in a bid to stop the elven gods known as the Evanuris.

01:29In creating the Veil, Solus destroyed the world of the elves as it once was,

01:34and now he seeks to restore what was lost.

01:36In doing so, he now threatens Thedas, which is where the Veilguard will come in.
