The seemingly inescapable federal penitentiary on a California island surrounded by frigid and powerful currents gained notoriety for housing some of history’s most famous prisoners, from Al “Scarface” Capone to George “Machine Gun” Kelly.

00:00Where did you get the idea for reopening Alcatraz?

00:04Just an idea I've had, and I guess because the judges,

00:07so many of these radicalized judges,

00:09they want to have trials for every single thing of it.

00:13Every single person that's in our country illegally,

00:16that came in illegally, that would mean millions of trials,

00:19and it's just so ridiculous what's happening.

00:22And it's long been a symbol, Alcatraz, of whatever it is.

00:28It's a sad symbol, but it's a symbol of law and order.

00:33And it's got quite a history, frankly.

00:36So I think we're going to do that, and we're looking at it right now.
