The British Street Food Awards sees the best southern food trucks battle it out at Gunwharf Quays

00:00could you introduce yourself please I am Richard Johnson I'm the founder of the

00:28British Street Food Awards we're part of the biggest street food competition in the world

00:32along with the European Street Food Awards and the USA Street Food Awards and tell us a bit more

00:36about what's happening behind you so these are the the southern heats of the British Street Food

00:41Awards the first heat of the year the best food trucks from all across the south of the UK coming

00:46together to win a public vote everybody here gets a vote and they all have their own ballot boxes

00:51they're trying to to convince you with their best ever dish and so what happens to the winner of this

00:59heat one of this heat will go to the British finals which will be in London in September with the view

01:05to going on to represent the UK at the European finals in Munich in October oh wow so quite a lot

01:11at stake exactly for the contestants that are taking part traditionally this is this is a this is where

01:16we find a lot of the new talent I mean here we've got the first ever Uzbek food truck we've got the

01:22fresh paella we've got Korean fried chicken we've got dishes from Dorset Devon Cornwall London Berkshire

01:31all the way across the region and so people wanted to come down how long are you here for

01:35uh Monday Bank Holiday Monday the judges come in on Bank Holiday Monday so we'll have a judges choice

01:42and a people's choice and all the uh results are announced on Monday at 4pm perfect well thank you
