So Alex, how can you feel about the Ports of Close?
00:05
Yeah, it's an incredible feeling as you can see so many people out here who have put in
00:10
so much work by talking to locals, seeing the concerns and then advocating for a better
00:18
deal for the area and so it's a combination of a lot of organisation, a lot of willpower
00:24
and a big desire to just make things better and so surrounded by that much love and that
00:30
many smiles, you can't help but feel good.
00:32
What did you want to turn out like to make the Ports of Close?
00:36
Yeah, it seemed really, really good, like I was on my old primary school booth, good old
00:43
Jammo and so it was really nice chatting to people there but also made it to Port Ferry,
00:48
made it to Pam Muir, made it to Rang and Camperdown and got to meet a bunch of people.
00:54
Even right at the end so it was really, really nice and yeah, a lot of people pre-polled
01:00
as well though so it's been a big session and now we just sit and wait for the results.
01:09
I think we could not have done any more in this campaign, the energy and the positivity
01:15
we've put into it, the amount of videos and conversations and the volunteers cutting out
01:22
little Kelpie dogs as well, like so much has gone in and so yeah, I'm just so chuffed and
01:29
as one of the volunteers said, we've already won, we wanted to get one national attention,
01:34
we wanted to make sure Canberra is listening to us and we can see on the TV we're already
01:41
getting a lot more mentions than we've got in the last few decades and so really excited
01:47
by that and hope that's by just getting close, if we can win I reckon we can do some really
01:52
great things as well.
01:53
I, well I'm torn because the energy of a campaign like this is so incredible, I would love to
02:06
do that again but I'm also someone who likes to know when he can take a hint so I'll have
02:12
to weigh that up and see if the people who want it need another Alex Dyson tilt but I'm
02:19
more than happy, I'm going to be as happier than anyone that my face comes down from people's
02:24
fences after this because I'm sick of my own mug looking back at me but I think it'll hopefully
02:31
be all worth it so that we can deliver on the roads, get the childcare waitlist down, help
02:36
out the farmers like if we could do that great but we'll see what happens.
