00:00Hi. Happy Friday. It's Angela coming at you again for the Friday Fitness Tip. Yes, once again, I want to share a lot of information and writing it would just take way too much time and I don't even think you would read it all. Maybe you would.
00:21So I decided to come and share my thoughts via video. So last week I talked about dry skin brushing and by the way, here is the brush. We ordered it. It's called, it is a Prana brush. It is by the company P-R-A-N-A.
00:43It's actually boar hair and then it's got copper in the middle. Copper is ionizing for your body. You have electrical currents running through your body, positive and negative. So this is an ionizer. Lots more on that. We won't bore you with science today.
01:02Okay. But I had a question come in which was fun because somebody wanted to know about my skin care routine. And so I shared it with them but I thought this is a great way for me to share it with more people.
01:19And I'm in my bathroom because most people think that skin care begins at the bathroom sink, at the mirror, what you put on your face, how you cleanse it. Actually, that's just a small portion.
01:36Yes, just a small portion. Actually, it is everything else you do that I've been writing about for the last few years. Those are the things that impact your skin.
01:49Your skin is a reflection of what is going on inside. And about, oh my goodness, last year around this time, no one would have commented on how nice my skin looked because I was going through some health issues and my face was showing it.
02:04Oh my word. It was horrid. I tried to not let it bother me. But yes, I'm a woman and everyone can see your face. And it's hard and challenging when our face doesn't look its best.
02:19So, I wanted to share the tips with you. Yes, it's the food, it's drink, sleep, lifestyle, environment, stress, and exercise. Those are all of the things that impact your skin, either positively or negatively.
02:39So, I'm just going to share with you what I have started to do within the last year.
02:45I've always had issues on and off with my skin. Oh my gosh, in my 20s, I went to the dermatologist and they just wanted to load me up with creams and medications.
02:56And the medication and the first cream caused other side effects that they gave me other medications for.
03:03And I was like, okay, no, I don't want to do that. That's just treating the symptom. I want to get to the root cause.
03:08So, I've been struggling with skin issues for on and off for a while. I've had rosacea.
03:15But of course, those are all things that come from what's going on inside your body.
03:20So, this is what I've done. In May, I had a food sensitivity test and it showed, I think it tested 128 different foods and it showed the ones that I'm most sensitive to right now.
03:35So, I'm eliminating those, which is helping me to heal my gut.
03:40And I can talk about this in another video because there's a lot of information to share.
03:44A lot of imbalances happen in what we call our gut and there becomes impermeability where food and things start getting out of the intestines and into our body and blood.
04:02And they're not supposed to.
04:03And so, our body goes on the offense and creates things, histamines and things become inflamed just because our body is trying to protect itself.
04:15So, it's good to know if you're sensitive to any foods.
04:19I've started taking steps to heal my gut with some supplements, with some probiotics, with some mass arms, with some HCL.
04:29Well, that's what I'm doing personally.
04:32Again, what I do for me is not necessarily something you should do for you because we're all uniquely made and we're all individually unique.
04:41So, this is just what I have learned and what I'm doing.
04:45You've got to be a detective when it comes to your body.
04:48I make sure I get great sleep.
04:52I drink lots of quality water.
04:54We recently just purchased a Kangen water filtration system and I'm loving it.
05:02More on that if you want details at another time.
05:06I do a weekly infrared sauna session.
05:10I'm out in the sun daily.
05:13Yes, you need sunlight.
05:15I'm not in the sun, in the heat of the day, but morning sunshine.
05:18When you have the sunshine, I know we all don't live in areas where there's daily sun, but if there's sunlight, try to get 10 to 15 minutes first thing in the morning.
05:29There's lots of science to prove that it's good for your skin.
05:32It helps your circadian code.
05:34It actually helps you start producing melatonin, which will help you sleep better that night.
05:39So, I get daily sunlight.
05:42Lots and lots of vegetables.
05:43I also do time-restricted eating or intermittent fasting.
05:48My last meal is before the sun goes down and I usually don't eat for 14 or 15 hours.
05:57Most days, I don't eat anything until around 11.
06:01There's lots of studies on that, lots of science on that, how it can help the body heal itself and do what it was created to do.
06:09I've reduced my load of stress.
06:11Now, it's possible to do.
06:14I know we want to be superwoman and do it all, but sometimes we have to put things off our plate to help our stress levels.
06:22I've eliminated as many stressors as possible.
06:26I still am very busy and do a lot of things, but I've learned to say no.
06:30I also get movement throughout my day.
06:33I get exercise a few times a week at the gym, but I'm always moving.
06:38I don't set too much.
06:41If I've been setting for a while, I make sure to get up and do some jumping jacks or march in place.
06:46I try to get at least 10,000 steps a day.
06:48That's me personally.
06:49I love to walk.
06:50I walk around my city.
06:52I walk as much as I can.
06:53I'm getting lots of movement throughout the day, which is helping the lymphatic system and the circulation.
07:00Then what I actually do for my skin is not too much.
07:03I use 100% pure aloe vera gel on my skin after I cleanse it with cool water.
07:10I use an Aveda moisturizer right now.
07:15In the evening, I add one drop of doTERRA frankincense oil to that moisturizer.
07:22Then I've recently also started using 100 milligrams of progesterone.
07:28That's it.
07:30It's not a big routine that I'm doing all kinds of face masks and all kinds of moisturizers and eye creams and things like that.
07:40I really don't do any of that.
07:42It's just the lifestyle.
07:43It's the environment.
07:45It is stress.
07:46It is sleep.
07:47All those things I write about, that can help you have great skin.
