00:00Alan Sheehan is on the verge of being confirmed as Swansea City's next long-term manager,
00:07bringing an end to months of speculation over the club's leadership.
00:12Sheehan has impressed during his spell as interim boss, having taken over in February following the sacking of Luke Williams.
00:20When Sheehan assumed control, Swansea were in disarray, having lost seven of their last previous nine championship games.
00:27But under his guidance, the Swans have experienced a major turnaround.
00:33They are now guaranteed a top 12 finish after collecting 23 points from 12 games,
00:38a run that's including a stunning five-match winning streak before Saturday's narrow loss to Millwall.
00:45The 37-year-old had previously shown interest in the job following Michael Duff's departure in 2023,
00:51and his latest stint made his case impossible to ignore.
00:55While Swansea explored other options, including reported interest in Hammersby manager Kim Helberg,
01:02Sheehan managed as the standout candidate.
01:06Championship rivals like Portsmouth and Middlesbrough also monitored his progress,
01:11but Sheehan also favoured the South Wales club.
01:15The fans have been excellent towards me, and I understand the responsibility that comes with being the interim head coach,
01:24and now the head coach, that I have a responsibility and a duty of care to the football club,
01:29to everybody at the football club, to the fans, to the ownership and to the players.
