00:00It was the South Wales derby the weekend just gone and it was a comprehensive victory for
00:07Cardiff City over their neighbours in Swansea City. 3-0 victors at the Cardiff City City.
00:13That's quite the result for a team who struggled a lot this season. And against the Swansea
00:16side who have, I know they've been mid-table and average for most of it, but they've got
00:21a quite good defence and they don't concede too many goals. So for Cardiff to welcome
00:27them there and then put three past them, quite the impressive victory for the Bluebirds.
00:33And not only that, in terms of morale boost and confidence boost, to do that against your
00:38local rivals where the pressure is on and where you're needing a result, not just for
00:42the bragging rights, but also just for your championship survival. They've gone there
00:45and they've done that and it's brilliant. But I think now the most important thing is
00:49that they build on it and use that as inspiration and confidence to carry on for the rest of
00:54the season and make sure that they are picking up more important results.
00:58Yes, as you say, an incredible day for Cardiff City. They had their day in the sun, as the
01:05saying goes, and they climbed straight out of the relegation zone. The battle down there
01:10is incredibly tight. One point from 23rd to 19th in the league and then you have Stoke
01:17and Millwall, Preston ravishing above those positions as well. Just safe, but Cardiff
01:23to go and win at home. A massive, massive opportunity it was and they got the job done.
01:30Clinically as well, Callum Robinson, man of the match, two goals. He was absolutely outstanding
01:36on the day and really, really stepped up to the occasion. 29 years old from Ireland and
01:42he's always had that sort of goal-scoring finishing, goal-scoring prowess in his locker.
01:47He just needed to produce it at the biggest time and he did that fantastically well. So,
01:51a massive achievement for him on a personal level. In terms of the game itself, Luke Williams
01:58side, Swansea City, came in 70% possession to lose 3-0. It's quite unfortunate. Only six shots
02:06managed, Cardiff with 11. Clearly, the game plan from Emeryza was to set up, be resolute at the
02:12back and just go and really try and hurt Swansea early on. That's exactly what happened. It was
02:19midway in the game where they'd soaked up that first half, they'd soaked up the pressure of the
02:23visitors and on a big occasion, they managed to play the game rather than the occasion, I think,
02:29Cardiff. But it was a really professional performance and as you say, rightly so, a huge,
02:35huge boost for confidence, for morale and maybe it was something that can hopefully
02:41breathe light into the remainder of their season because it's a huge chance to now push on.
02:47There's more games coming thick and fast and they need to focus on ensuring they are performing this
02:53way and hopefully can remain a championship club.
