Mother squirrel relocates her baby by gently holding it in her mouth

This is the adorable moment a mother squirrel moved her baby - gently holding it in her mouth.

The video, captured by Aliaksandr Akimau, on April 22, 2025, shows the mother squirrel climbing to a safer, more sheltered spot.

They move from an open-air nest to a nearby tree hollow.

Aliaksandr Akimau, 43, from Warsaw, Poland, said: "I was excited to witness this private moment of the squirrel's life.

"Not only because it's rare and cute, but because the squirrel trusted me enough to move its baby right in front of me.

"Just a minute before, she came right up to me and took a nut from my hand."
