00:06to future stars in the sport hoping to be between the uprights. Goalkeeper Adrian Fonset dropping
00:12in as a guest coach as well. How would his approach to the game differ from that of Michael
00:17Maurice who also served in the same capacity as national goalkeeper. The lucky participants
00:23were given a certificate upon completion. It's a badge representing their application to the
00:28insight provided by organizer and coach Rundell Renwick and the other coaches. Goalkeeping
00:35you know it has been a neglected area in the sport of football and you know we believe if we have
00:40places like this where they can come and harness their skill from a very young age we have youngsters
00:46coming here from as young as six years old and we strongly believe it's because nowadays there's a
00:51place that they can come and harness their skills so we'll get the interest from an earlier age so
00:56um this is the intent. His words were reaffirmed by goalkeeping coach Russ Russell.
01:02Goalkeeping we just take it for granted in our country but it is one of the most important spots
01:09in soccer today you know you see goalkeepers practicing they use their feet now you see goalkeepers
01:15doing all sort of thing but if a goalkeeper isn't there or isn't good then your team could lose and
01:20if he's brilliant the team's win. Renwick believes camps will be important to the development of the
01:26game. Obviously this will augur well for our national teams both youth and at senior level for both men
01:32and women because now they have a place that they can go to or places that they can go to and continue
01:38harness their skill again from an early age we need them we need that interest in goalkeeping from an
01:44early age and i truly believe that camps goalkeeping camps goalkeeping clinics and schools will augur well
01:50for the Trinidad and Tobago future. Russell also praised the initiative. I think it is a great initiative by
01:56you first of all that they did this you know because it is really don't have anything like this in the
02:02country you know and i hope other people take heed and open others and invite guys like us to just look
02:09along and improve it as best as we can because you know goalkeepers are a special unit i will say in
