Dasha caught up with Billboard's Tetris Kelly at Stagecoach 2025.

00:07Speaking of actually partying, here for the party, the Gretchen Wilson cover.

00:11So what made you want to cover that song?

00:14I've just always loved Gretchen Wilson.

00:15I've always loved that song so much.

00:17I mean, you know me, I'm a dancer.

00:18And having music at my shows, that makes people want to let loose.

00:22And the song is so unapologetic.

00:25And it was before, she was one of the first country girls

00:28to do something that was a little bold.

00:30And I wear my jeans a little tight to watch the little boys come undone.

00:35That was kind of a crazy lyric.

00:37And I don't know.

00:38I'm all for pushing boundaries, especially in the country world.

00:40And I don't know.

00:42She's just an icon.

00:43And I love that song.

00:44And it brings out this kind of growl in my voice.

00:47So on a purely sonic musical side, I was like,

00:50it kind of adds this fun new level to things.

00:53So I got my band together.

00:54And we covered it live.

00:58And speaking of being here for the party, last year, Diplo,

01:01and now back as stage coach on the main stage.

01:03So how do you feel taking on your first massive festival

01:07main stage performance?

01:08It's so insane.

01:09This whole, I mean, the past three, four weeks,

01:11it's just been rehearsals like crazy.

01:13I have four dancers, two trick ropers on stage with me,

01:16eight-piece band.

01:17Trick ropers, girl?

01:18OK.

01:19Basically, it's kind of like a mini Broadway musical I'm putting on.

01:21Oh my god.

01:22Girl, I'm ready.

01:22It feels like my first time.

01:24Feels like the first time I get to really show people, like,

01:26this is me and this is my performance.

01:28And this is what you get when you come to a real Dasha show.

01:31And I just like can't wait to really debut this at stage coach.

01:35And I mean, talk about debut new music.

01:38The song is, it's very me-coded.

01:42I feel like this whole new album I'm working on is the lyrics are just,

01:46you really get to know my personality through the lyrics.

01:48And one of my favorite lines in the song is,

01:50my spray tan's still stuck to your white tile shower.

01:53Because we broke up so recently, spray tan's still on there.

01:56And like, just like real shit like that, you know?

01:58Raw.

01:59We're just keeping it real.

02:03But the Traylor Swift stuff?

02:09I took the meanest comments I could find on the internet.

02:11And that's the intro to my stage coach set.

02:14Because I think it's hot.

02:19When I saw that for the first time, I was like, period.

02:22I am Traylor Swift.

02:24Yes.

02:25And then let's talk about even, you spoke a lot about Austin

02:28and how big of a song that was for you.

02:30And how you kind of got swallowed in that.

02:31Yeah.

02:31So tell me like how it was to be in such a big moment

02:34and then now, in a different part of your career,

02:35be like releasing your music.

02:37I mean, for a while, Austin got so big.

02:40And I was such a new artist in this world that, you know,

02:42people knew the song but had no idea who sang it, you know?

02:45And so now I feel like I'm kind of counteracting that.
