00:03he has signed a contract extension to remain in San Francisco.

00:07Four years, $76.4 million extension signed by Kittle.

00:12He has been in San Francisco for the entirety of his eight-year NFL career.

00:16After more than 1,100 receiving yards and eight receiving scores a season ago,

00:23George Kittle will remain in San Fran.

00:25Four years, $76.4 million deal, Joe.

00:28Just north of $19 million on annual average value,

00:32making George Kittle the highest-paid tight end in National Football League history.

00:37Yeah, and, you know, deserving in terms of the productivity,

00:40a little bit banged up over the past couple of seasons,

00:43but a mainstay and a very important piece to the San Francisco 49ers offense.

00:48Let's not forget Brandon Ayew coming off a major injury.

00:52Ricky Pearsall, year number two, showed, you know, bright spots.

00:56But we don't know what to expect from this offense moving forward.

01:00And if you're Brock Purdy, that's the security blanket.

01:03You know, you talk about Brock Purdy's success,

01:05obviously with Christian McCaffrey coming out of the backfield

01:08in the short-to-intermediate passing game.

01:10You have George Kittle working over the middle for those dig routes

01:13and working on linebackers.

01:15And then that opens up everything over the top for those wide receivers.

01:18So we'll see how it progresses.

01:21But he's deserving, even though you can get tight end help in the draft

01:26in the second, third, fourth rounds,

01:28George Kittle is an added blocker as it relates to the rushing attack as well.

01:33So he deserves the money.

01:35As long as he's healthy, he's right up there with some of the best in the game.

01:39And we'll see if he can really live up to expectations

01:42and lead San Fran to an NFC championship.

01:45There's no doubt about it, Joe.

01:48And he's 31 years old now.

01:50He will turn 32 during the 2025 NFL season.

01:53That's in October.

01:55A fifth-round pick out of Iowa back in 2017.

01:58Again, all eight seasons of his NFL playing career

02:02have been with the 49ers.

02:04He came on very strong, two 1,000-yard seasons in his first three years.

02:09But he has now backed that up after a few years dealing with injury

02:13with four consecutive seasons of at least 14 games played.

02:17He has been a pro bowler in all four of those years.

02:20Back-to-back seasons leads to a guy, 2023 and 2024.

02:24That connection established with Brock Purdy,

02:27where he has had more than 1,000 receiving yards.

02:30He's one of five tight ends in the history of the NFL.

02:33Of course, we have seen this position grow and grow over the last decade or two.

02:38But he is one of five tight ends in the history of the National Football League

02:41with at least four seasons of 1,000 receiving yards.

02:46Travis Kelsey has the most.

02:47He has seven.

02:48The four other guys, including Kittle, Kittle, Tony Gonzalez, Rob Gronkowski,

02:53and Jason Witten, all with four seasons of 1,000 receiving yards.

02:58And Kittle is still doing it.

02:591,100 receiving yards last year and eight receiving touchdowns.

03:04So, Joe, he is still producing at a very productive clip.
