00:00We look across the pond now to President Trump and his first 100 days. He held a rally last night.
00:07Reports in the papers this morning that the Prime Minister is set to sign up to Brussels food rules.
00:14Now, we know that President Trump will be no fan of that. He's wanted his own trade deal with the UK,
00:20which we know will be based on digital services tax and food imports as well.
00:25Have the Labour government put Europe over the US with this?
00:31Well, what worries me as the shadow DEFRA secretary, shadow agriculture secretary,
00:37is that yet again, Labour has shown their disdain for UK farming because not only have they imposed
00:46or are they imposing the family farm tax, they've increased national insurance on farms.
00:50Farmers are finding it really difficult to make ends meet at the moment.
00:53Now we hear that they are prepared to make massive concessions, if the speculation is correct,
00:59on food imports, on fishing as well. And really, this government needs to get its act together.
01:06Food security is a critical part of our national security.
01:10And yet the Prime Minister, the Chancellor and the DEFRA secretary seem happy to give and concede away
01:16our food security and the security of our fishing industry as well
01:23in order to try and broach deals with the EU, with the US and others.
01:28And so what we're really concerned about is that when Labour negotiates, as we've seen with Chagos,
01:34then Britain loses. And my particular worry is that British farmers will lose as well.
01:39You know, we're really concerned about, though.
01:54We're really concerned about this jetzt.
01:55Into this in the meantime, we're going to prepare for the UK.
