00:00Rated M for Mature
00:31We have quite complex characters in the game
00:34They all have like many layers of emotions that we have to bring through
00:37That was brought by the first pass which is a motion capture
00:40But now like the voice acting really like elevates it even more to the next level
00:45And I think we are incredibly fortunate to have been working with this team of actors
00:49Because they really understand the character
00:51And manage yet to bring all the complex emotions and deepest layers of every character
00:57Hide it when it needs to be hidden and make it surface when it needs to be shown
01:01And it's just been an incredible ride working with all the team of actors
01:06Hello. Hello. How are you?
01:09Nice to meet you. Nice to meet you. How are you doing?
01:11Nice to meet you. I recognise your voice when you were talking about that.
01:14My voice?
01:15How do I walk? You're amazing.
01:17Well, thank you.
01:18You're amazing. It's pretty cool.
01:19You're amazing. Yeah, he is. You're amazing.
01:21No, it's Verso. It's Verso that make anyone who needs the team up, right?
01:26So, uh, Verso is, um...
01:29Verso is, um, Verso is, is, is, is no one. Um, uh, next question.
01:45What? What? Stop it. Too cheesy? No.
01:49So, Mayel is an orphan and she was, uh, she bounced around from foster home to foster home
01:57and then she was taken in by Gustav and Emma and grew really close to Gustav.
02:03You still got a flower to give, no?
02:06Yes.
02:08She's an amazing character. She's so vibrant and full of life and sass,
02:15but she's not without, like, complexity or pain. So, it's been just such a joy to play her.
02:21I think she's one of the most brilliant characters I've ever played, actually. Yeah.
02:27I don't understand what's happening.
02:30And I feel like I never understood, like...
02:33Like, I'm always missing something that everyone else just gets.
02:38Minoko is a gestural who has learned to speak English
02:43and he also enjoys fighting as a method of relaxation.
02:47He kind of shows off some of his personality quite early on.
02:50He's kind of got a bit of pride and competitiveness, just trying to show off, I suppose.
02:58New friends.
03:00You speak our language.
03:02Ladies.
03:06Could I...
03:07Ow!
03:09Interest you in a duel?
03:11Definitely a gestural.
03:13It was kind of written quite clearly.
03:15There was obviously some humour in there.
03:18I kind of felt that it was a deep voice as a non-human,
03:22but he's very articulate, very well-spoken.
03:26You know, the way he speaks in sort of proper sentences and such, such like.
03:32And we've had a lot of fun in the sessions, kind of playing with him
03:35and he's sort of exploring his range of emotions.
03:39Yeah, it's been a lot of fun.
03:41The best part of the voice acting was trying to make everybody say merde and putain.
03:44All the French words.
03:46It was always lovely to try to teach them to have the right pronunciation.
03:50Merde, merde, merde, merde.
03:53That, is that, how did you say that second one?
03:56Putain.
03:57Putain.
03:58Putain.
03:59Putain.
04:00Yeah.
04:01Merde.
04:02Merde.
04:03My mouth doesn't make these noises.
04:04Merde.
04:08Merde.
04:09Merde.
04:10Yes.
04:11Merde.
04:12I'll make one more.
04:14Putain.
04:15Yeah.
04:16What does it mean?
04:17Pu.
04:18Pu.
04:19Putain.
04:20Putain.
04:21Merde.
04:23As the only French person in the room, you're like, no, it's not like this, no, it's not like this, it's like this, it's like this.
04:28And they're like, it sounds the same.
04:30You're not French.
04:32It was really easy for me to connect with Ciel.
04:36I really valued her optimistic nature despite what she had been through.
04:43She'd come through so much grief and she uses that as her power and I found that really relatable.
04:52It's really beautiful.
04:53The way that she is with Maial, her nurturing nature, her maternal nature, her enthusiasm throughout and the scene that she has with Lune is particularly special.
05:06Friends are not distractions.
05:12Where she's nostalgic and she's using that to connect and interrelate and grow and again, find her strength to carry on.
05:23Paolo Ranger, save a stranger!
05:38Wait, that's...
05:40See how?
05:41What?
05:42How?
05:43You guys?
05:44You're alive!
05:45I thought I was the only one left.
05:46I knew you were resourceful.
05:47So I play Lune.
05:48She's an ambitious, driven woman.
05:50She kind of has inherited this goal from her parents, a purpose, like a greater purpose and I think she's quite determined with it, she won't let anything distract her, it's all about getting to that goal.
06:06She's also quite sarcastic and funny, which I appreciate about her and is not afraid to kind of put the men around her in their place.
06:29I didn't take you for a coward.
06:30I'm not a coward.
06:31You swore the oath.
06:33When one falls, we continue.
06:35Yes, I know.
06:36When one falls.
06:38When one falls, not if, when.
06:42I think there are times when maybe there are people around her who are going through quite devastating circumstances and she can be quite rigid.
06:55But I understand it, I understand her drive.
06:58This is not the place.
07:02She's such an action hero.
07:03She's so active and her powers are so cool.
07:06There was something very, like, when I saw her I was like, wow, she's so cool, I want to be like her.
07:11So I think that was great to see.
07:13She's very badass, yeah.
07:15Yeah.
07:16Eskier is the Eskier, it's kind of a myth, you know, he's a mythical creature.
07:20Hello, my friends.
07:21Hello, my friend.
07:22Hello, my friend.
07:23CL?
07:24What?
07:25I don't know.
07:26He seems nice.
07:27Nobody really knows if he exists or not.
07:28So when the expeditioners finally meet him and he joins the group, it's kind of a big deal.
07:43He becomes their travel companion and their emotional support as well.
07:49Mon ami, you've put on a lot of weight.
07:55I think it's completely different because with the motion capture you can actually be in the scene, you have the other actors as well.
08:04It's a mix of theater and being on set, but when you're voicing a character, you're alone on the booth.
08:14Oh, oh, and François is just like you.
08:19What I really love about Eskier is that he takes everything so literally.
08:26There are scenes that are quite heavy and just sometimes just by Eskier being there, it really does light the mood.
08:33Yeah, and he's very powerful as well.
08:44Oh, and he can't keep a secret.
08:46It's impossible.
08:47If you tell him something, everyone will know.
08:49Well, apart from one or two things.
08:57We've put some very hard work into the voice acting and we are super excited to be able to show it to the world.
09:02Show it to the world.
09:03This is a game made by people who care about the people they're making it for.
09:07Being part of the team, getting to see it's so magical and there's so much depth in the story and the backstory and the characters.
09:16There's so many layers of emotions and the story is so deep and complex.
09:22I think there's so much here to kind of just absorb and explore.
09:29This is one of the most beautiful projects I've ever worked on.
09:33Get ready for something absolutely beautiful and special and magical.
09:38With truly three-dimensional characters that you can really get under the bones of.
09:44Be part of that expedition yourself.
09:46Well, you will enjoy it. I know you'll enjoy it. And Minoko will be your favorite character.
09:51Just hope they enjoy it.
09:53I've never been part of something that has just exuded this much passion.
09:57I think it's going to really, really wow people. And it should. It's fantastic. Yeah.
10:09I hope you enjoy plundering the many depths of this multi-layered game. Good day to you.
10:39Good day, everyone.
10:41If you're looking for an eye on your head, you can welcome your hands to the enemy.
10:42Bye.
10:43Bye.
10:44Bye.
10:45Bye.
10:46Bye.
10:47Bye.
10:49Bye.
10:51Bye.
10:52Bye.
10:53Bye.
10:54Bye.
10:56Bye.
10:59Bye.
11:01Bye.
11:02Bye.
11:03Bye.
11:04Bye.
11:05Bye.
11:07Bye.
11:08Bye.
