00:00The End
01:59Uncle Sam has a nice, tidy little sum for you, John.
02:03The earnings and interest on your oil lands
02:05amount to just $4,000.
02:08Sign your name right here.
02:26Oh, Chris Morrell, step up here, will you please?
02:29Hello, Nina.
02:39The money from Nina's mother's oil land
02:42is amounting to quite a pile,
02:45about $50,000 right now.
02:48If you can locate Nina's father
02:49and get a signature to these documents,
02:52then Nina will still remain the ward
02:54of the United States government,
02:56but you will be her guardian legally.
02:58Well, that ought to be simple enough.
03:00Or, if you can bring evidence or proof
03:02that her father is dead,
03:04then that will clear the situation.
03:06Well, I've got a pretty fair idea that he's still alive.
03:09Well, what did you find out?
03:22The half-breed kid's worth $5,000 right now.
03:25And if Chris Morrell locates the kid's father
03:27and he signs the papers the agent gave him,
03:29as her guardian, Morrell gets $50,000.
03:32Oh, he does.
03:33That is, if he gets to the kid's father
03:35before we get to him.
03:49Where are we going, Daddy, Chris?
03:51We're heading north.
03:53Why are we moving away?
03:54I'd like to hear.
03:56See if we can find your real daddy.
03:58And if we can, we may be able to scrape up enough money
04:01to send you away to school.
04:03But I don't want to go to school.
04:05I want to be a cowboy like you.
04:08Oh, girls can't be cowboys.
04:10Can too.
04:12I can ride as well as you can.
04:15But you still can't be a cowboy.

04:43I guess you know what we want.
04:45There's no use of beating around the bush.
04:47We came here for Nina, and we're willing to offer you
04:50a fair proposition for her.
04:52If that's all you came for, you might just as well leave
04:55right now.
04:56Now, don't get hostile, Chris.
04:58You know as well as we do that Sam Black runs things
05:00in these parts.
05:02When he sends us out to get the girl, we're going to get her.
05:05Besides, he's been mighty good to you, offering to cut you
05:08in on that oil money.
05:09Well, anyway, she isn't here.
05:12And you can tell Sam Black from me that she's left this part
05:15of the country for good.
05:17And you can also tell him that if he'd had the nerve to come
05:20himself instead of sending you renegades, that I'd have shoved
05:22that off her right down his throat.
05:24Now, come on.
05:25Get out of here.
05:26All of you.
05:27We'll get out.
05:28Maybe she ain't here.
05:29But we're not giving up that easy.
05:30We're watching you, and we're watching the place.
05:32So don't think you're getting away with nothing.

13:35I had him all right.
13:37But I guess he got away.
13:43You guess he got away?
13:44He sent that kid on alone while he stayed here to cover the trail.
13:48And that kid means 50,000 bucks to us.
14:02A little bit.
14:04I said you got to cover him.

16:34Oh!
16:40You ain't going nowhere.
16:44Let go of that youngster, Vic.
16:46You better hollering for kitchen help.
16:48Well, here it is.
16:50Well, what are you doing here?
16:52Daddy sent me to find Buttonmore, and he said he'd take care of me.
16:58We'll take care of you, all right.
16:59Go on, get in the house.
17:00Now, you let her own.
17:02If she's going to help me, I'll take care of her.
17:04All right.

18:00Me and him, or else?
18:03Is your pop's name Chris?
18:05Yes.
18:06Do you know him?
18:07Yeah, I used to.
18:10How come he ain't with you?
18:12Sam Black and his gang were after us, and we only had one horse.
18:18And Daddy Chris told me to get on there and ride him and, and...
18:30Oh, Mr. Norton, would you order that boulder calico for me?
18:37I will, Miss Clarence.
18:38And you haven't seen my brother Jim, have you?
18:40No, I haven't.
18:41Oh.
18:42I thought if he were in town, he might want to ride back with me.
18:45Goodbye.
18:46Goodbye.
18:47Goodbye.
19:16Uh!
19:22I'll meet you at your ranch.
19:52What's the matter?
19:53What's the matter?
19:54What's the matter?
19:55Where did he go?
19:56Where did he go?
19:57Who was he?
19:58Tell us.
19:59I've been robbed.
20:00A fellow with a checkered shirt, a black hat, and he had a black handkerchief across
20:13his face.
20:14Yes, yes, sure he was.
20:15Sure he was.
20:16No, I tell you, I can't be mistaken.
20:19He had a checkered shirt and a black hat.
20:22Well, he took $6,000 from me and stuffed it into a gunny sack.
20:25Well, which way did he go?
20:26Well, I don't know which way he went.
20:49I don't know which way everything oh.

21:02Yeah?
21:03There is Find lands logos.
21:04That's right.
21:05What do they think?
21:06It's going anywhere to do it?
21:07People waiting.
21:08New accidents is something is so empty.
21:09Yes, there is a thing that's empty.
21:10We're going to mess with people, but you're going to talk a little bit away now.
21:11What's right?
21:12You're going to go on a fucking map of your house.
24:28וק Moor.
24:29Why?
24:30Little handsome.
24:31tour from the river valley.
24:32Bud Moor?
24:33Yes.
24:34I used to ride with him with him in the panhandle.
24:35Do you know him?
24:36Yes.
24:37He's my brother.
24:39That is, he was my brother.
24:41I don't quite get you.
24:43Bud's dead.
24:44Oh.
24:46He was killed in a range war last year.
24:48Oh, I'm sorry.
24:50I got a shock at first but I guess you can be used to anything.
24:55Oh, did Bud ever mention my name, Chris Morrell?
25:00Are you Chris Morrell?
25:02Why, he used to say you were the best friend a man ever had.
25:05I guess that's putting it pretty strong, ma'am.
25:09Clara.
25:11Come on, let's go up to my place and change that shirt.
25:14There'll be a lot of people looking for it.
25:16Yes, ma'am.
25:17I mean, Clara.
25:25Nina's mother was a full-blood Osage.
25:28She married a good-for-nothing white man who left her two months before the kid was born.
25:34His mother died.
25:55Hello, Clara.
25:56Chris, this is my brother Jim.
26:01I'll make you some coffee before you go.
26:03Thanks ma'am.
26:04I mean Clara.
26:05I'm my brother Jim.
26:07I'm going to have a coffee before you go.
26:09Oh, thanks ma'am.

26:40What about it?
26:42Nothing, only I came to for a minute when you changed shirts with me at the creek.
26:49Well, why don't you tell her?
26:51Well, in the first place, because it'd break her heart.
26:55In the second place, because snakes like you usually die of their own poison.
27:04What was that noise?
27:06Why, Jim was showing me his gun and it dropped out of his hand.
27:11Have some coffee, Jim?
27:13Not now.
27:15Later.
27:15I'm glad to have met you.
27:23Same to you.
27:40How do you like Jim?
27:41Well, some men are like books, written in a strange language.
27:48And that makes it awfully hard to read them.
27:51I hope I wasn't wrong in reading you, Chris.
27:53Oh, no, ma'am.
27:55Well, you were telling me about Nina just before Jim came in.
27:59Oh, uh...
28:01Well, Nina...
28:02That guy recognized you.
28:04He knows you pulled that job at the express office.
28:06I told you not to stop.
28:08Well, I thought it'd be a good way to hang it on him and be busting it clear.
28:11Where's the money?
28:12The old Honest Dunk?
28:13Let's go get it.
28:15In order to protect her interest, we started out to find Nina's father.
28:21Sam Black and his gang figured that she was worth a lot of money.
28:24Luckily, I got the best of them and stampeded their horses and made a getaway.
28:31Well, I guess I'd better be going.
28:38Oh, no, you better take this one.
28:40Jim's.
28:42Oh.
28:45You'll bring Nina back, won't you?
28:47I sure will, Clara.
28:48Thanks a lot.
29:10Goodbye, Chris.
29:11Hey, kid.
29:12Come here.
29:41What's your name?
29:42Nina Morrell.

30:14I know.
30:15I know.
30:16How do you know?
30:17Chris and me was there when she was born.
30:19For two days after, when your wife died.
30:21Come here, kid.
30:22I want to talk to you.
30:39I'll bet that's the bunch that belongs to Sam Black and his gang.
31:09I want to talk to you.
31:10I want to talk to you.
31:11Yes.
31:12I wish I had something to put on my dog.
31:14That's your Thor.
31:15Well, it was your fault for letting Morrell stampede the horses.
31:18Now go find them.
31:19Well, where'll I go?
31:21I don't know of any place around here to get horses.

32:56You're looking for a half-breed kid named Nina Morrell?
33:24You said it.
33:25I got her.
33:26What's the idea?
33:27I'll exchange if you count me in.
33:30For how much?

33:40I'll show you how to get there.
33:41You're on.
33:42Good.
33:44You cut me in for ten thousand and bring this scalp of Chris Morrell to my ranch, and I'll turn the kid over to you.
33:50Where's your place?
33:51Here.
33:52I'll show you how to get from the Moore homestead to my ranch.
33:54Why, Matt Downing, you're all bothered.
34:07Chris Morrell.
34:09I know from what the kid said you couldn't be far away.
34:12Well, is she all right?
34:13Where is she?
34:14At the bird ranch.
34:15Used to be Bud Moore's.
34:18Dad's there, too.
34:19Her dad?

35:20We're going to split that up.
37:38Vic got me.
37:39Vic Byrd?
37:41He maybe robbed the express office.
37:44And he got the money.
37:47Do you know where he went?
37:49Yes.
37:51To the ranch.
37:53To get your kid.

39:55Well, you're out of luck.
39:57She's worth more than that to me.
40:03You better change your mind, Tom.

41:38Matt told me.
41:39And Vic told me about Sam Black and his gang wanting her.
42:05I didn't see her.
42:12This is how it was.
42:14You're welcome.
42:15And you're welcome.
