00:00I'm here in the Balkans, specifically Croatia, and sadly having to report on the failure of
00:06another holiday company, this time Balkan Holidays. Unlike many other previous failures,
00:15though, this one is different. The company has ceased trading, but it is not insolvent,
00:22and everybody who has a booking with them will get their money back from the company
00:28in the order of the date of travel. They are currently providing refunds. I know that EasyJet
00:36Holidays has already put a rescue deal in place. Does this spell possible other closures? I don't
00:45think so. Balkan Holidays survived Covid, so it's sad that they have now left the scene,
00:53but we are living at a time when we have more choice than ever, and I trust that the passengers
01:01who have been inconvenienced will be able to find alternative holidays relatively easily and
01:09affordably. And one more thought, Balkan Holidays flew from a lot of smaller regional airports,
01:16airports, and it is particularly concerning that those airports will not be serving those passengers
01:23this summer. That, I think, is going to be a significant blow to some of them. So, to sum up,
01:31Balkan Holidays has closed down, but it is not insolvent, and if you have got a booking, you won't get your
01:38holiday, but you will get your money back soon.
