The Trump administration is expected to enforce export licensing for powerful AI chips, which could amount to a ban. Nvidia disclosed a $5.5 billion charge related to inventory and commitments for the H20 in its first quarter filing. Chinese companies are decreasing their reliance on Nvidia by using edge devices and integrating Huawei chips with Nvidia processors. Bernstein reports that most firms can continue operations without the H20 chip.
