00:07but what about a chicken it may seem odd it's a majestic chicken or even a bit funny to some but

00:14a farm sanctuary said the story of how she got there points a bigger problem Oliver and Friends

00:19Farm and Rescue Sanctuary Jenny Hayes who works there Virginia should say said we save a chicken

00:25and maybe people think that we're a little nuts but that's okay are you did you say Jenna Hayes runs

00:30this uh Jeannie Hayes oh sorry uh and Hayes and her team are determined to save a bird named Colorado

00:36and that's where Hayes said the Cornish hen was rescued from a defunct factory farm uh she said

00:42there were I think maybe 13,000 chickens that need to find a place to go uh maybe Gene could step in

00:47and do a benefit he loves chickens thank you for attending tonight there's a very special chicken

00:52I want to bring up on stage uh what do you mean you ate him

00:56the chicken's name is Colorado um Oliver Kid Arizona last month Oliver and Friends took in 25 very sick

01:06chickens with the help of a Colorado Animal Sanctuary named Love and Arms uh though it may be hard to

01:12believe my little feathered friend

01:14look at this he eats falafels right out of my mouth

01:20and where his beak is pointy he makes sure to do it delicately as to not puncture my lips

01:26did you give him a little kiss at the end there yep you're such a good little chicken

01:31you know you're a raptor you know you you know though they mock you you bear a lineage to the

01:39prehistoric realm

01:40you're not too far removed from the velociraptor

01:44hmm when the tables were turned uh though it may be hard to believe Colorado and her friends are

01:50only a few months old they're bred to be big uh you're bred to be big she's it's all about

01:55production look at the size of that chicken

01:57so the faster they grow the bigger they grow uh Colorado's legs could no longer

02:06very big could no longer support are you getting turned on his big tongue comes out

02:12uh he's one robust looking chicken Hayes considered euthanasia uh that is until her husband got on

02:20google and saw she needs to go into the bathroom and whip out some secret sauce and saw a chicken

02:24in a wheelchair and started building one a chicken in a wheelchair yeah so Hayes said so ever since she

02:30got the wheelchair her sparkle is back and so now they focused on keeping all the goddamnedest thing

02:35you've ever seen the chicken in a jazzy scooter

02:44uh granny does your dog bite no child no uh they're now focused on keeping the chickens at a healthy

02:53weight through exercise and diet uh low fat feed and fresh greens all right chickens thank you for

03:10live that to you to live their best life as a pain as pain free as possible in absolute pain
