00:00What's good? It's me, Jeannie and Shannon Renee from the all-new Morning Bouncers National Reading Month,
00:04and we've been telling you that we want to come and read to your kids.
00:06Today we are at...
00:07Rogers Elementary School!
00:09We're going to read to some first and second graders, and I can't wait, because that's probably about my reading.
00:16Let's go!
00:17What's up? What's your question?
00:19I'm a squirrel.
00:20You're a squirrel?
00:23What's up, bud?
00:25You look a little different from the picture.
00:27You a pixel?
00:28Yeah.
00:29Nice.
00:29I look a little different.
00:31Oh, it's because of the beard he's talking about.
00:33I got the beard, too, in here.
00:35No, it's just the beard that's a little shorter.
00:37And it's less, there's more white in it now, because I'm older than that.
00:41What's up, man? What's your question?
00:44In the green shirt?
00:45In the green shirt?
00:45Oh, it's a green shirt.
00:47It's okay.
00:48It's okay, what's your question?
00:49Well, have you ever read books before?
00:52Oh, yeah, I actually used to be, I used to be a substitute teacher when I was in school.
00:57Yeah.
00:58And I'm a mom.
00:59Oh, your dad never puts on the radio?
01:05I don't want to talk to you.
01:06He's a dog.
01:07He's a dog tomorrow.
01:10I never.
01:10What's up, Angie?
01:12I'm a dog.
01:13You're a dog.
01:15A puppy dog.
01:16A puppy dog?
01:17Okay, friends.
01:18Do you have a question?
01:18Yeah.
01:18Questions for them.
01:21In the back?
01:21Why do you guys wear headphones or music?
01:27So that we can hear ourselves talking and we can hear the music in the background and
01:31make sure the music's not too loud, make sure we're not too loud, and make sure everything's
01:35just right.
01:37Yeah.
01:37We can hear everything that's going on while it's going on.
01:40Wow.
01:41I could keep my headphones off and I would hear him talking, but I would hear everything
01:45else that's going on.
01:46You know what I mean?
01:47How did you get on the radio station?
01:52So for me, it's a funny story.
01:54I worked behind the scenes for quite a while, making it sound fun for everybody, and then
02:01I entered a contest three years ago to be on air, and I won, and here I am, on the radio.
02:09So yeah, but you can go to school for it.
02:11But I started out, you know, with our promotions, people that go out, when you go out to like
02:16a men's and you see the radio station and they're working it, that's where I started.
02:21But yeah, how about you?
02:22Me too.
02:22I started doing promotions as an intern and then promotions, and then I started being
02:27on the air.
02:28I used to live in Orlando, working at a radio station, and then I moved to Tennessee and
02:32I worked at a radio station there, and then I moved here a year and a half ago, and now
02:36I'm in Michigan.
02:38Do you know Taylor Swift?
02:39I have my Taylor Swift.
02:42Would you like me to share with you?
02:45What the?
02:49Why is she so tall?
02:51She's very tall.
02:54That's really cool.
02:55Her mom, like, walked us around and gave us, you know, let's check out backstage and everything.
03:01No, I'm just five foot.
03:04She's definitely tall, but I'm really short.
03:08Very cool.
03:09If you take a mouse to school, he'll ask you for your lunchbox.
03:16When you give him your lunchbox, he'll want a sandwich.
03:20And a snack for later.
03:25Then he'll need a notebook and some pencils.
03:28He'll probably want to share your backpack, too.
03:30When you get to school, he'll put his things in your locker and take a look around.
03:43He might do a little math and spell a word or two.
03:46He'll even try a science experiment.
03:48Then he'll need to wash up.
03:54He'll have to take him to the bathroom.
03:56Once he's nice and clean, he'll be ready for his lunch.
04:01On the way to the lunchroom, he'll see some building blocks.
04:04He'll build a little mouse house.
04:07Why are you doing this?
04:08A little mouse house.
04:09I don't have a little mouse house.
04:10I don't have a little mouse house.
04:13All right.
04:14And make some furniture out of clay.
04:18Then he'll need some books for his bookshelf.
04:21He'll start writing one on his own, so he'll need a lot of paper.
04:29He'll probably use up all your pencils.
04:33And when he's finished, he'll want to read his book to you.
04:40Then he'll want to take it home, so he'll put it in your lunchbox.
04:44And tuck it in a safe place.
04:46When the bell rings, he'll run out to wait for the bus.
04:52While he's waiting, he'll play a quick game of soccer.
04:55Then he'll ask you to shoot a few baskets.
04:58I think the basket is a little ball.
05:01I think the basketball is.
05:04There's no way the mouse can shoot a basketball game.
05:06Wait.
05:07He just kicked the soccer ball.
05:09I also went bigger than this one.
05:11Right?
05:11And do a little skateboarding.
05:14When he stops to catch his breath, he'll want to eat his snack.
05:17So he'll ask you for your lunchbox.
05:21And chances are...
05:22If he asks you for your lunchbox, you'll have to take him back to school.
05:31Oh, no.
05:33All over again.
05:34All over again.
05:36All over again.
05:37There he is.
05:38Awesome.
05:40They did amazing.
05:41Let's give them another round of applause.
05:44Yay!
05:44Miss Shannon and Mr. Jean did amazing for us.
