00:00A new way to wake up. Amy and Sean on 1027 VGS. All right, here's what you need to know today.
00:08Water could cost you soon if you're in the Las Vegas Valley Water District.
00:13So that's not North Las Vegas, that's not Boulder City, that's not Henderson.
00:16But if you're Vegas or if your mail says Vegas, very likely you.
00:20The rates would begin beginning in 2023. It would just charge you more depending on how much water you use.
00:26They would have different tiers, and it also would depend on what season you're in as well.
00:32I have had issues with our pool, right, for like all summer.
00:37It's kind of hard to keep up. We finally get a pool guy and he's like, all right, listen, we got to start all over.
00:41You have to empty your pool and fill it.
00:42Oh, no.
00:43But what I heard is that you can have a fireman come to your house and fill up your pool and you pay them,
00:51but they donate the money to one of their organizations.
00:55Really?
00:55Yes. And I don't know if it's true, so that's why I'm bringing it to VGS listeners.
01:01Should we call 911 and see if it's going to go?
01:04I have a water emergency.
01:05Oh, my gosh. So I don't know if it's real.
01:08I looked it up, and like when you just Google something, it gives you like that quick top answer,
01:12and it says you can call. The answer will probably be no because they're busy and like first world problem.
01:19But if they're not busy, come fill up my pool really quickly. I'll donate.
01:23And you don't get charged for the water. Right.
01:26And the fire department doesn't get charged for the water. See, you know, this is okay.
01:30But that's why you give them like a, you know, a couple hundred bucks and they donate it.
01:34Yes. We are like...
01:36Multiple people have told me that on social media.
01:40No, I'm sure. I'm just, what I'm just looking at, both you and I, our default is, how can I get around this?
01:47Yeah. I mean, we already filled it up once and it just took so damn long.
01:50It took a little hose. Exactly. Yeah. Not enough water pressure.
01:54No, not at all.
01:55You shouldn't have to set your house on fire in order to get that.
01:58Yeah, seriously.
01:58There we go. Imagine.
01:59Yeah.
02:00That said, there's also going to be, if approved, a golf course cut as well.
02:04It would cut the amount of water that golf courses are allowed to use by a third.
02:09Wow.
02:09Because, I mean, the golf courses, I think, take about the most water as a category.
02:13I'm assuming, yeah.
02:13They take a ton.
02:14So Lake Mead dropped 26 feet since February.
02:18God.
02:18Yeah.
02:19There's a lot of help needed there.
02:21That's crazy.
02:21Really sad news, north of Vegas, if you watch the show Street Outlaws on Discovery Channel,
02:26one of its stars, Ryan Fellows, actually died during a taping on Sunday night.
02:30They were taping for the series just north of town and, unfortunately, yeah, he was involved
02:35in a crash with his Nissan 240Z.
02:38Lost control, rolled, caught fire.
02:40Discovery Channel sending a statement saying they're heartbroken by the accident and the tragic
02:45death of Ryan Fellows.
02:46He leaves a wife and two kids.
02:48Crazy.
02:48That's very sad.
02:49Like, there was a, they shut down a part of the strip in front of Paris because they
02:54were filming some car commercial and they were, like, zooming around the thing just
02:57like last week.
02:58Or, it's, it's called Gymkhana, which is what they do.
03:01I, I, I forget who the guy is that does it.
03:03My goodness.
03:04He's phenomenal.
03:05Travis Pastrana?
03:06Could be Travis Pastrana.
03:07I forget who it is.
03:08But, uh, phenomenal.
03:09Like, what he can do to whip the car around is incredible.
03:11But, it's a scary, I mean, he's not going a hundred and some odd miles an hour.
03:15Right.
03:15Like, whereas this is just flat out street racing and it's very sad.
03:19Uh, and then finally, oh my goodness, I haven't got to, I haven't used this in a while.
03:22John Wick mode, please.
03:25Yes.
03:26There we go.
03:27Golden Knights signing Nick Wah to a five-year contract extension with the team.
03:32Three million dollars a year on average.
03:35And, um, he was actually, had a pretty good year, at least for himself yesterday or yesterday,
03:40last season.
03:41Yeah.
03:41Uh, career highs in games played, goals, assists, and points.
03:45They have one more position to fill.
03:48Three million dollars or so to fill it.
03:51We're up against it again.
03:53It's, you're just shaking your head.
03:54It's so frustrating.
03:55It really is.
03:56We had all the picks.
03:57We had them all.
03:59No, we don't.
04:00Nothing.
04:00We had no picks.
04:01We had all the money.
04:02No, we don't.
04:03No, no, no.
04:04We had, we had all the goalies.
04:05Yeah.
04:06No, we don't.
04:06No, we sort of don't, you know, so.
04:08Very sad.
04:09We'll see what happens.
04:10Crazier things have happened.
04:12Yeah, sure.
04:12Yeah, like, you know, having an amazing expansion team.
04:16Life could never get us.
04:18Wow, we're going to be great forever.
04:19That's the movie come out.
04:21That's what I'm looking for.
04:21The movie came out.
04:22That's the problem.
04:23It's over.
04:23It's called Cool Runnings.
