00:00Let's play Plead the Fifth with Orlando and the Freak Show on Wild 94.1.
00:14Hooked up by 1-800-ASK-GARY. Now, who's taking the stand?
00:19Oh, he's standing.
00:22But do you have to redo something?
00:24How dare you? I gotta reset all the cameras now.
00:26I think better on my feet.
00:29You get nervous and gotta stand up or something?
00:31I just, I'm quicker. I'm better. I can look y'all in your eyes and I see y'all plotting against me.
00:35So you're a better person when you stand?
00:37No, I'm a quicker thinker.
00:40He's like, all right, well, understand, standing in the booth is Davi.
00:45Three questions come from the room. This is Plead the Fifth.
00:48It lets you get to know us a little bit more, and Davi is the subject of the day.
00:52So three of them comes in at him from us, and then three come from the audience.
00:58He only gets to avoid one because he gets one pass.
01:01All right, Buck, you're first up.
01:04Davi, you are a man all about that cheddar.
01:07All about the bread.
01:09The last two years have been crazy with coronavirus.
01:14In what way did the virus come into town, to the world,
01:17and what way financially did it help you, and what way did it hurt you?
01:21Okay, so as a lot of you know, I talk about it often.
01:25I own a tattoo shop.
01:26I opened that tattoo shop two weeks before COVID shut the world down.
01:32So we were open like 13 days, and then we were shut down for about 10 months.
01:37So that is a big hit when you put in all this time and money into opening a store, a business,
01:46and it's immediately shut down.
01:47Now, looking in hindsight, it was a blessing in disguise because we were able to kind of, you know,
01:53button up a lot of the business structure things, get with our artists,
01:58and just kind of grow and develop the business.
02:01So it was in the long term – I mean, in the short term, it was a hit.
02:05It definitely was.
02:06It was hard, and me and my partner were kind of talking about it every day.
02:10But, like, in the long term, it was kind of a blessing in disguise.
02:13Wow.
02:14Nice.
02:14You became an epidemiologist, too.
02:16Yeah, didn't we all?
02:19Everybody.
02:20It hurt my DJing a lot.
02:21All of my weddings, everything I had going on got canceled again in the short term,
02:26and then 2021 was crazy with all of the makeups and everything.
02:30Dobby is an outside business.
02:33All right, Dobby.
02:35You know, I feel like we're really engulfed in the whole Will Smith, Chris Rock thing that's going on right now.
02:40Also, if you were up on stage and you were Chris Rock and Will Smith came up on stage and then he slapped you in the face,
02:47how would have you handled that situation?
02:50It probably would have been a fight.
02:52You know, just like Will blacked out and it didn't matter who or where.
02:56He blacked out.
02:57He did.
02:57Yeah, I think Will saw red and he just nothing else mattered in his mind at that moment.
03:04I would have gotten like that once somebody smacks me in the face.
03:08It wouldn't have mattered if we're at the award show or in the neighborhood.
03:12It would have been a fight, I think.
03:14Full on on TV.
03:15I've never gotten smacked in the face and not retaliated.
03:18Open handed.
03:19Yeah.
03:19Open hand, though?
03:20Does that make it better?
03:21No.
03:21Okay.
03:22All right.
03:22Because it feels disrespectful.
03:26It is extremely disrespectful.
03:27If he had punched him, it would have been a fight.
03:29Yeah.
03:29But, I mean, and then again, he might have just knocked him down.
03:32But the slap was kind of like, almost like with a glove.
03:35Yeah.
03:36Like I challenged him to a duel or something.
03:38Yes.
03:38Yes.
03:38You can't put your hands on people without expecting some kind of retaliation.
03:41So you would have just gone after him after that.
03:44Correct.
03:44Okay.
03:45All right.
03:46Let's keep it big Willie for a second.
03:48All right, Dobby, tell me, any time that you had to defend, has there ever been a time
03:57where you had to defend a woman's honor?
04:00What happened?
04:04Honestly, no.
04:06I never, no.
04:08I wish I had a good story about having to step up to the plate.
04:12But no, I've never had to do that.
04:16But no, not a girlfriend, never my mom.
04:20No, nothing.
04:21Never, not one time.
04:22Don't you talk about my mom a little bit.
04:23I mean, listen, that's a good thing.
04:26Because a lot of people who get put in that situation, we talked about it.
04:29Like Will was put in a situation where he was laughing, like laughing it off, being the
04:34guy that we know and love.
04:36And then he glanced at his wife, who wasn't happy.
04:39And that decision had to be made right there.
04:42Do I get up and say something?
04:44I mean, even his thing after.
04:46I mean, that was a lot.
04:47A lot of times those split-second decisions can have years of consequences.
04:51So I'm lucky that I haven't been put in a space like that.
04:55Yeah, you might have been bad.
04:56Right.
04:56You messed around putting somebody that hit their head, and the next thing you know,
04:59you were in jail for 10 years because you're like manslaughter.
05:02You're like, ah, man, I was at the Oscars.
05:04You know what I'm saying?
05:05Like, yeah, well.
05:06All right, so that's three.
05:07Now three come from you.
05:09Let's see here.
05:09Line three, Letitia.
05:11I think it is Letitia.
05:13How you doing this morning?
05:15Hi, Orlando.
05:16I'm doing good.
05:16How y'all doing?
05:17We're doing good.
05:18What's your question for Davi?
05:20So my question for Davi is, if you were a parent, I know you don't have kids, but it's
05:25a dad question.
05:26If you were a parent and you had a six-year-old daughter, and she was begging, begging, begging
05:31for this one thing.
05:32She wants to get a tattoo, and you have in your tattoo shop, would you allow her to get
05:36one?
05:3616.
05:3716?
05:38A 16-year-old daughter?
05:4016, yes.
05:41Would I let a 16-year-old daughter get a tattoo?
05:45And it's your daughter?
05:46My daughter.
05:48Probably not.
05:49Is you?
05:49Probably not.
05:50I don't think so.
05:51No.
05:52Thinking of what I would have gotten and bad ideas I had when I was 16.
05:57And 16 actually is the age that you're allowed to go in with a parent in a consent form and
06:03get tatted.
06:05I don't think if I was in that position, I would, no, I don't think 16 is old enough.
06:10Even if the tattoo was more like a heartfelt, it kind of leads into something family, like
06:20family-related.
06:21Someone that she lost.
06:22So she's begging, begging, begging for it.
06:24You know, you still say, wait till you're 18.
06:27I still, wait a little time.
06:29I don't think 18 is this magic number where, like, you turn 18 and now you have all this
06:35wisdom.
06:36I would say sit on it a little bit.
06:38A lot of people want to make a split-second decision or think about something for a week
06:44or a month.
06:45I would say let them sit on it for six months, maybe a year.
06:49And then if you still really, really want it, then we can have another conversation.
06:54It sounds like she's going through this right now.
06:56Yeah.
06:56I'm getting that.
06:57I keep trying to tell her your body is your temple and, you know, just, that's kind of
07:02what I'm kind of going with.
07:03You know, your skin is the most precious thing, but.
07:05She's probably not going to change her mind.
07:07I remember being 16 and wanting tattoos, but I know that once I turned 18, I picked different
07:14things than I would have gotten when I was 16.
07:16So I would say just kind of sit on it for a little bit and, you know, see what you come
07:21up with.
07:21Although you still love your MOB tattoo on you.
07:23Oh, my MOB tattoo is great.
07:24It's one of my favorites.
07:25All right.
07:29Thank you, Leticia.
07:30Let's see.
07:30We got somebody on line one.
07:32Yes.
07:32Line one.
07:32No name on line one.
07:33I didn't see what the name was.
07:35Hi.
07:35Hello.
07:37Hey, it's Camisha from Lakeland.
07:39First time caller.
07:40Hey, first time caller.
07:41First time caller.
07:42Welcome to the freak show.
07:43Camisha, what's going on?
07:45Hey, I just got a question for Davy.
07:46I understand he's never been put in that position, but physically speaking, he has the old lady,
07:51right?
07:52Yes.
07:52And he's at a comedy show and the comedian is just like ragging on his old lady and she's
07:58really feeling some type of way.
07:59It's not funny to her at all.
08:00Like, what is he going to do?
08:01You just going to sit there and laugh it off?
08:03What are you going to do if you're Will Smith?
08:05I'm at a comedy show.
08:06I've been to numerous comedy shows and I know what to expect.
08:10If I'm at a place where this is completely out of line and inappropriate and now you're
08:16just kind of singling us out, it's disrespectful, then I think that's a different situation.
08:22A comedy show, everybody's fair game.
08:25If you get up to go to the bathroom, you're fair game.
08:27If you walk in late, you could get talked about.
08:30So I think at a comedy show, I would kind of let it slide.
08:35Okay.
08:35But if you were in Will Smith's shoes, what would you do?
08:38Because we all know Jada suffers from alopecia.
08:40That's why she's in her hair.
08:41We don't all know that.
08:42We didn't know that.
08:42I didn't know that.
08:43I can't say Chris Rock knew that.
08:46So, again, I treat that as kind of like if you're in the audience, you've seen these
08:54before, you've been part of it before, you can't act brand new now.
08:58If Will Smith was hosting the Oscars, he'd be doing the same exact thing to everybody
09:03in the crowd.
09:03So that's how I look at it.
09:04Okay.
09:05All right.
09:06Okay.
09:06All right.
09:07I appreciate it, sweetie.
09:08Thank you for checking in.
09:10No problem.
09:11Have a good day.
09:11Hey, you too.
09:12All right.
09:12Let's see here.
09:13I got a good question for Davi that just came in out of the 727.
09:17I don't like the way you said that.
09:20Are you ready for this one?
09:21It's right in my alley.
09:22Davi, if your girl ended up pregnant, would you be the congratulations type or the oh snap
09:29type?
09:30How would you go about it?
09:32I mean, it would be a combination of the two.
09:37You know, oh snap, everything's going to change, but I think I'm going to, you know, I'm grown
09:42at this point.
09:42So it's not going to ruin my life, but the congratulate, it would be both.
09:47It would be oh snap, man.
09:48I got to give my life.
09:49The show don't sound like both.
09:51Well, it would be congratulations.
09:53Yeah.
09:53I'd be, I'd definitely be happy for that.
09:55But at the same time, I know everything would change.
09:58Wait, are you keeping it or not?
10:00Wait a minute.
10:01What are you, wait?
10:02What do you mean?
10:04What?
10:04Where did that come from?
10:06Of course.
10:07Yeah, yeah.
10:07We're not getting rid of babies.
10:09My goodness.
10:11That's what everyone was wondering.
10:13No.
10:13I don't think anybody was wondering.
10:16I think you was wondering that.
10:19What?
10:20No, but he said it won't ruin my life.
10:21That's what I was stuck on.
10:22Babies don't ruin your life.
10:23Well, I mean, yeah, I've seen some unwanted situations mess up people's lives.
10:30I mean, I thought I knew how you would answer that, but wow, you were, you, it, listening,
10:36it sounded like you were like, uh, no, no, it didn't sound overjoying.
10:41Well, it, it would be, like I said, a combination of, of, of the two.
10:45It would definitely be like, OMG, holy crap, this is happening.
10:49It's about to go down.
10:50Yeah, yeah.
10:50But no, it, it, it would also be a celebratory thing.
10:54Okay.
10:55All right.
10:55Uh, do you have a more range to use?
10:59Um, uh, what, what was a good one?
11:03What was a good one?
11:04I don't know.
11:04It's up to you.
11:05Pregnancy.
11:06You answered all of them.
11:07Tattoos.
11:08Will Smith.
11:09Chris Rock.
11:10Yeah.
11:10How you all would handle that?
11:12How would you, how would you, the, the question that the young lady, uh, called in, if you're,
11:16if you're at a spot, you're at a comedy show and somebody in a similar situation is just
11:21ragging your significant other and they're getting visually like bothered by it.
11:26How would you handle it?
11:27Look, I mean, I'll go first.
11:29Like you said, if you go to the comedy show, you are signing up to be heckled with, especially
11:34we're talking about what, arguably the top five best comic in the world ever.
11:39Chris Rock.
11:40I mean, he's going to come after you, especially if you're already a celebrity too.
11:43Yeah.
11:44And you've seen, you've seen people get roasted on Def Comedy Jam or whatever.
11:48I mean, and, and where they were uncomfortable, where like Martin would be like, don't be mad
11:52at me, you know, blah, blah.
11:53And people get, you know, some type of feeling.
11:55This wasn't a comedy show, but it was still was somewhere where you knew people in the audience
12:00were going to get roasted because they do that at the Oscars.
12:03It's traditional for the monologue.
12:05People get picked on, you know, and stuff like that.
12:08So I've heard worse jokes, by the way.
12:11I got ragged at the Dion Cole show for my shirt that I had on and because I was sitting in
12:17the second row so he could see it.
12:19And he was like, yo, like, what's up with this shirt and blah, blah, and was ragging on
12:24me.
12:25And it was part of the gig gig.
12:27It wasn't like, you know, I was feeling some type of way.
12:29But if your date is feeling tight, you know, you kind of like just got to pacify them and
12:34be like, babe, it's all good.
12:35It's just a show.
12:36It's part of the show.
12:38I guess that's how I would handle it.
12:40Now, if he ran up there and slapped me.
12:42Oh, yeah.
12:43What do you do at that moment?
12:44I mean, we just got to tussle on the team.
12:47It's just got to be fighting.
12:48Do you look down on Chris Rock because he didn't?
12:50No.
12:51Somebody's just wrote.
12:52They're like, how are we not going to talk about how good he took that slap?
12:55He did.
12:56Like, he took it.
12:57Like, he took it.
12:58And he moved on.
12:58And he kept going.
12:59Kept going.
13:00He didn't.
13:00I mean, Will cried more than Will.
13:02Didn't get this rap rap.
13:04I know.
13:04Yeah.
13:04You know what I'm saying?
13:05Like, I mean, he didn't take it.
13:07You got to give him love on that.
13:08All right, Davi, your Plead the Fifth is a rap right now.
13:11Yeah.
