00:00Christian Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank mourned the death of Pope Francis,
00:07who had consistently supported their plight throughout his papacy,
00:11but especially in the last 18 months of his life amid the war in Gaza.
00:16We were very sad to hear that Pope Francis died.
00:20He was our Pope, not just our Pope, he was our brother, our friend, our dear friend for Bethlehem.
00:27He always gave us a big hope. He told us that you are not alone.
00:34In Gaza, a mass was held in the enclave's only Catholic church on Monday.
00:39Since the outbreak of the war, the Pope would frequently call the church
00:43to check up on the nearly 600 people sheltering inside.
00:47Pope Francis is very proud and very close to the Christian church of Gaza,
00:53and not only the Christian church of Gaza, but all of the villages of Gaza and all of the indigenous peoples.
00:58He met with us another day, on the Sabbath, on the Sabbath,
01:02on the Sabbath, before a few days.
01:04He asked us for prayer, and he gave us the blessing,
01:09and he gave us the blessing of all of us.
01:14Pope Francis prayed for an end to the war in Gaza until his final hours.
01:20In his last public appearance on Easter Sunday,
01:23he renewed his plea for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas,
01:27expressing his closeness to the suffering of Christians in Palestine and Israel.
01:32And we'll see you soon.
