Londra, 22 apr. (askanews) - Il Primo Ministro britannico Keir Starmer e il suo omologo neozelandese Christopher Luxon hanno visitato un campo militare nel sud-ovest dell'Inghilterra, dove vengono addestrate le truppe ucraine. "Voglio che sappiate che siete degli eroi. Il Presidente Zelensky è un eroe, e tutti i cittadini ucraini lo sono ai nostri occhi", ha detto Luxon ai soldati. L'addestramento, denominato Operazione Interflex, si svolge in diverse località del Regno Unito e coinvolge oltre una dozzina di partner internazionali.Intanto secondo il quotidiano The Times il primo ministro del Regno unito Keir Starmer sarebbe vicino a concludere un importante accordo commerciale con l'Unione europea, che consentirebbe alle aziende britanniche del settore della difesa di vendere armi per miliardi di sterline ai partner europei. Le aziende britanniche, inoltre, potranno partecipare alla gara per un nuovo fondo europeo per la difesa.
