00:00Former PKR Secretary-General Saifuddin Nasution Ismail has dismissed the notion that high-profile leaders are entitled to win leadership roles in the party by default.
00:12The Home Minister was asked to comment on news that several prominent incumbent PKR divisional leaders were knocked out in the party's divisional polls.
00:22PKR Vice Presidents Nick Nazmi Nick Ahmad and K. Saraswati, PKR Youth Chief Adam Adli, and several MPs were among those who lost.
00:32Saifuddin said no top party leader is guaranteed victory, regardless of whether they hold positions such as minister or deputy minister in the cabinet.
00:41He also said losing should not be seen as being cast aside, as those who remain loyal and continue to serve the party will still have a place in its leadership.
00:50Earlier today, a senior PKR Assemblyman dismissed talk of factionalism in the party's divisional elections, attributing their defeats to complacency rather than internal power struggles.
